    “It’s a great honor to work with students to pass on some of the knowledge I’ve gained from my many great instructors and my own discoveries as a painter. I’m a true believer that the fundamentals of painting combined with our individual voices make painting a uniquely satisfying endeavor. As a teacher, I provide a strong base of the fundamentals of painting to guide every student in reaching their unique artistic intentions in a supportive, nurturing and creative environment.” - Marla

    Okay......wow, the background is amazing. It is so professional and all though you have a lot of paintings displayed it doesn't take away from what you are talking about. Thank you for sharing about the view finders. I will be downloading your pattern. You are one of my favorite artist. I really do believe you have turned a corner and I hope many many more people find out about you. Congratulations on all the hard work you have put in. It will pay off.

    i have one question. What is the viewfinder template printed on to? i may have missed something in the video.

    • @PaintingLessonsWithMarla
      @PaintingLessonsWithMarla  5 лет назад +1

      I printed it on card stock and then put packing tape on it so it would last a while!

    I don't understand the utility to make holes at the left for the values: Why?

    • @johndwess
      @johndwess 5 лет назад

      You would look through the holes at an object and line up the closest value. It would help you figure out how to break down values in your composition.

    • @PaintingLessonsWithMarla

      So you can judge the relative value of what you see through the holes. It's pretty useful.

    Interesting products all. Different strokes for different folks. Some, obviously, are lesser in their usefulness than others. I am astonished that a rule of thirds is not presented as a "rule of thumb" viewer basic - since most people struggle with focal points and composition. Some of these products, nonetheless, sre still user friendly, though some again, are a bit bulky. I would recommend Tom Lynch's view-finder since it covers all of the above in a DIY product which meets all requirements. A last point of contention: I felt the presentation style to be rather dismissive both in comments and in the action of disposing of each "unacceptable to me" product - presumably sending them into a trash can. Haviong an opinion does not mean acting a role of having superior ideas.
