It turned out really nice and fresh. I also have the " U Go " pochade box" ,only the smaller size. Its a great piece of kit that I also use as the studio palette on a tripod keeping my other hand free. I use it with the glass palette ( oils ) so its easy to scrape clean.
Wow..such a peaceful scene.. You captured it very beautifully..I am learning watercolor from you only.. Thank you so much for your explanation while the process.. It helps me a lot..
Hi Marvin. I don't exactly remember. But looks like Viridian + Burnt sienna (Holbein). Burnt Sienna from Holbein is a bit orangey and creates nice warmer greens with Viridian
I found your channel very recently, and I am enjoying it very much! I have a couple questions: what kind of watercolor paper do you use? And could you give an explanation of how you stretch your watercolor paper?
I use saunders waterford 300 gsm. When i paint outdoors I use the block, which is glued on all 4 sides. When i paint in the studio, I stick the edges of the sheet to a board using masking tape. I use a bigger masking tape for full sheet paintings. I do not stretch the paper by soaking it in water. It does buckle a bit, but i let it dry with the masking tape still intact
Your videos are great btw. I sometimes wonder when I see someone so easily gauge the timing of dryness and tones in watercolour, are you quite experienced? How long and frequently would you estimate you've been doing watercolor? Thanks
The great watercolourists, like Cox and Girtin, would light a fire when painting in winter. When a wash needed drying, they would prop the painting by the fire. While that was drying, they would start another painting. They might have three paintings on the go at one location! I like your studio palette tray, please could you tell us which company makes it. Cheers.
That’s some good history to know😀The palette in this video is an old one that I picked up from ebay in 2013. It was shipped from taiwan. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a brand name on it, for me to trace back 🙁
so lovely look forward to more
Thank you
A very nice painting, Jana… It’s tough to paint in the cold too! I especially like the blue to green transition in the mountains. Thank you!
Thanks so much.😃

Thanks for the feedback. I have been painting for like 10 years now. Mostly once or twice a week 😀
Love your technique and wondered what is your board/tripod combination? Can I link to it somewhere?
It is New Wave u.go Plein Air Pochade Box. It is fixed to a normal camera tripod.
@@janawatercolor Thanks =- will try and find one.

That palette looks very similar to one branded Mijello Airtight.
