- A few weeks ago I broke some bones in my leg, and now I can't use my right foot for a bit. The doc gave me the okay to hobble around, so I'm adding this knee scooter to the fleet. Today we'll fix up this knee scooter and maybe even give it some parts bin upgrades!

By the way, those were carbon bars that made a cracking sound when I overtightened a brake lever a few years ago. I had put them aside “for display purposes” but figured they were strong enough to toot around the house.

It NEEDS pneumatic tires. Those solid rubber tires on those wheels are going to transfer every bump (think of the surface of concrete) onto his knees!

Seth thank you just put a smile on my face reminded me of my Nana’s Rollator after she had it for three years it had a number of issues. Well I took the entire thing apart cleaned and re-greased it replaced the break cables. put a cupholder ,cane holder , some reflective tape on the sides. Many of her doctors and nurses were impressed because her rollator was one of the safest ones they had ever used. If anyone asked about it My Nana would proudly say “oh my grandson fixed it up” She had it 12 years after my initial fix every now and then I used to give it a tuneup. Sadly My Nana isn’t around anymore. Before i gave it away I gave it one last tuneup and found it a new home.
I apologize if this is a bit of a rant I just wanted to say thank you for reminding me of the good times with my Nana. I hope you have a speedy recovery. - John

But I hope you make a second one that’s a complete over the top version just for the fun of it. Like so much to where it’s actually safer to use it when your legs are both fully functional.

@@bradyl6227 treks have knock blocks as well to prevent frame damage during a crash. however they are pretty annoying as you can accidentally reach their limit during a sharp turn and be thrown off balance

When have to go to car for things and places maple trees and woodpeckers leaves tree twigs and limbs everywhere those tire will put you on the ground so bigger better tires are a must! Especially if yur driveway is on a slop.

As someone who didn't have the knee rover, when using crutches around the house, the best way to transport everything is having a small backpack with you!

Great video. I had toe surgery February 3 and have been zipping around our home with my knee rover. I fix the wires. I will pick up a basket. Thank you for the informative video. Happy scooting and have a good recovery.🙏😉

Those are already around, so I think he'll just buy's one and puts a carbon bar on it ;)
You can even buy full electric off road wheelchairs which can go faster then most people go on bikes (not including downhills and the like off course :) )
Okay so no joke, Seth is making some of the most enjoyable content on the platform. I don’t know how he manages to make an entertaining video out of pretty much anything, but i fuckin love it.
Never estimate the power of Zip-Ties. As a retired electronic technician, I've used thousands of Zip-Ties in a multitude of industrial/manufacturing applications. In particular, I liked your use of one to bypass the steering stops. In addition, the installation of the basket and water bottle holders are high on my list. A week since the surgery on my broken left foot, I will now order a Knee Scooter. Thank you for the video and may God Bless you and your family.

I just watched your Alaskan mill video. Quick recommendation would be to file a second chain just for milling. Usually that’s about 10 degrees as opposed to the 30 degree stock. A Stihl dealer could do it for you but being laid up you could as well. It would cut much faster = efficiency. Heal up. Mazel tov!

When I was on crutches I had a bike bottle holder attached just near the hand piece. Worked really well. A carabiner with a bag that collapses into a pouch is good for the shops, or just carrying laptops and stuff.
Walked a lot with crutches after knee surgeries, one tip for walking with crutches and taking things with you is wearing hoodies with big pockets. Always a life saver for me

I just broke my fibula and fortunately no surgery, but thanks to Seth’s idea of a knee scooter, I’ll be getting one to be mobile once the rest and elevation stage of my healing is over. Thanks Seth.

By FAR the most important accessory I added was the padding to the saddle. Memory foam covered with sherpa from Amazon was an absolute knee saver. That saddle is ridiculously hard and painful without it.

However, I'm sure there's thousands of people who would pay good, reasonable prices for it, so if he really wants to sell it, it'll get sold.
I bought this same exact scooter when I broke my tibia 11 months ago. I thought the turning range was bad to so I did what you did. Few days I fell over bc I wasn’t paying attention. Be safe.
