I have a question pertaining to your last video. Can I do all of that after I come back from the seifer mission. I really don't want to gain any levels and seifer would be good to gain AP with apparently.
@Vegesther I don't care about levelling up seifer. I want to know if you can not gain a single level whilst trying to get the card ability unlocked. I know ifrit gives you 20 AP and the next boss gives you 18 AP and then just use seifer by himself so your other party memebers don't level up.
my experience the guy who is just standing in the middle of the library uses the strongest cards overall in the garden in disk 1 and uses Boss cards like Elnoyles in every match.
For whoever plans to do a high level run: High level T-Rexaurs drop dragon fangs. Also, the beach outside of Dollet has many adamantoise encounters. You can get the adamantine from them and you don't have to sacrifice the Minotaur card.
@Vegesther That's very similar to the strategies I personally used when I played it back in the day. One more thing. On extremely rare instances, belhelmel drops laser cannons. You encounter them outside of Galbadia garden and they usually team up with blood souls if they're not by themselves.
@Vegesther You're absolutely right. The belhelmel drop is just in case it wasn't possible to obtain the laser cannons during the Laguna dream via elastoids. Kinda like a last resort method.
@Vegesther Belhelmel also drops Laser Cannons. That's how I got my Pulse Ammo and Homing Laser ability. But I can tell you right now, it was dropping them once per every 40-50 encounters with it. Resulting in one of the most tedious grinds for 4 items I have ever experienced in an RPG.
If I want to steal later cannons from elastasoid monsters. Do I have to level my characters up to level 30 and also learn the mug ability before the 2nd laguna dream sequence in the woods before you get to galbadia garden?
Ah, well don't wanna grind to lv 30 yet, I'll just get the dragon fangs from the grendels and the adamatoise when I'm level 30, figure out the pulse ammo later
Tell me about it. I was only 12 when this game came out and had no idea what the junction system was at the time. Replaying this after 20 years and my mind is blown 😂
I did this way back in 2005-6. Would’ve been about 14, 15. I am so excited to play this game again, I feel this game was a big part of my love of gaming .
u were older than me hahaa but like you this game was what basically got me in to gameing, so far all the dialogue and everything is how I remember, the nostalgia is soo good and it will be replayed multiple times hahahaha
Same, born July 87, I got it for the cpu and couldn't get enough. Though I never beat the game as a kid, the castle was too much for me. I loaded my save game recently and somehow did the whole castle, the end boss fight almost made me want to quit again until I saw a magic item called the end....well one hit KO...I remember spending hours trying to find a way. Something changed though, before I didnt know the story but now I finally beat the game, ff8 went from my fav game to me never wanting to play another ff game again but as a kid I couldn't get enough
Playing the remastered version. I’ve never gotten further than just after the Timber mission before, and never really gave Triple Triad even a glance. So this the first time actually sitting down playing Trip. Tri. using the Refinement(I had no idea Trip. Tri. had any sort of relevance to the mechanics of the game. Boys points for making Draw a waste of time) and using the Junction system efficiently. It ridiculous how power you can become so early on but it takes a crap ton of work, time, and luck. Every minute doing it, although it doesn’t seem like it when you’re doing it, is absolutely worth it. Just need the last component for the LionHeart, and I’m fucking excited! Thanks for the help along the way. 👍
I remember doing this my first and only time and it was worth it. I actually enjoy the card game more than the real battles but seeing Squall with a Lionheart during the beginning of the game is just so badass
Guy that gives you the quistis card in the cafeteria gives you the Elnoyle card way more frequently cause he only plays two levels of cards. Edit- want to give credit for this to a youtuber named Mike Bettencourt for this- his video pointed this out to me. ruclips.net/video/PD6Yb8lhLI4/видео.html
It seems like he goes on streaks however. When getting the 20 initial elnoyles he gave them easily, but when i went back to get the quistis ultimate weapon (which can be obtained purely through cards found in blamb) it went took 45 minutes for him to start using it, then it was every 3 games or so.
NoNameSparrow Not sure if this would help but maybe prior to winning your first 20 maybe if you’re able to keep count on the Elnoyles prior to the 20 maybe at ten or 12 maybe you could lose with crap cards/ give one of his high cards back? Maybe by let him win one it might reset the counter before that 20 Elnoyles card cap. I don’t know for sure but it did work out ok for me.
@@cloudxd9280 you dont mod grendel bro. Instead you actually fight grendel right after second laguna dream, and before entering second garden. Grendel has high chance of appearing (almost a guarantee) and high chance of dropping dragon fang when its level is below 20
Oh thats why i dont get dr fang even i try to card mod grendel card hahaha sorry my bad and thank you for the info im really confused coz this is the 1st time i play ff8
I got most of the cards needed from the two quistis trepies in the cafeteria. They aren't the most consistent but they do have almost all the cards you need for all the weapons. I have a video on my channel with everyone but Irvine's last weapon on disc 1
Collected some of the strongest magics for junctioning, got squalls ultimate weapon, got some of the best cards... Okay now I can progress past disc one xD
The greatest thing about final fantasy viii being re-released in 2019 is that I now get to hear how the rest of the world pronounces galbadia and such.
I was thinking the same thing! He pronounced it "Gal-ba-deer", whereas I've always pronounced it "Gal-bay-dee-ah". However, now that I've heard it pronounced that way, it sounds better than my way, I think!
There's so many different ways to pronounce Galbadia I've found. I used to pronounce it as "Gal-bad-ee-uh", but "Gal-bay-dee-uh" sounds better. I suppose "Gal-bad-eer" and "Gal-bad-ire" are other ways of saying it. Esthar was another interesting one for me too. I always used to pronounce it as "Ess-thar", but on my most recent playthrough I found that "Es-star" rolls off the tongue so much better and just sounds better overall.
For some reason I've been misreading it all this time as gal-ah-bee-dee-ah. I somehow put an extra A in there. I kinda like it better, I'm going to stick with that lmfao
-Dragon Fang from T-Rexaurs -Admantine from Admantoise outside of Dollet on the beach -Play triple and get 20 Elnoyles (fairly common card; stick to playing anyone who you find has one) -> refine (Card Mod from Quezacotl) to energy crystals (10 cards = 1 energy crystal) -> refine 2 energy crystals (Ammo-RF from Ifrit) into 20 Pulse Ammo You now have all ingredients for the LionHeart on Disk One
Trepie fan #1 in the cafe was where I got about 20 Enoyle cards. He doesn’t play it every round but he played it often enough (in my particular playthrough).
One person I've noticed that plays a lot of Elnoyle cards is the "gatekeeper" at Balamb Garden. He's the one behind the glass on the screen with the literal gates (one has a blue light and one has a red light). He played an Elnoyle literally almost every time I played him (I played about 15 games, and think I got 12 Elnoyles). However, he did stop playing them after awhile, so I don't know if I was just just getting super lucky or what, but yeah.
Gatekeeper is one of few players in the Balamb Garden that has level 5 cards (As well as the girl in the library, cafeteria lady, all quisits groupies and a handful of others). But Quistis Groupie #1 (Sitting together with a friend in cafeteria) ONLY plays level 5 cards (Elnoyle is a 5-card)
Hey super late here! But I’ve found by FAR the best card player to grind for these cards etc is CID himself! Just after the timber mission is briefed to you and he’s in his office. I was able to get like 50 of these and enough ruby dragons for 100 flare in around 7 hours. That’s a lot of time, but with all rule and literally only playing one player he’s really good for thus! He has abyss worms too if you’re in for tornado.
In addition to the Lionheart you can get 4 out of the 5 top weapons for each other character on disc 1 without leveling up Quistis needs: 2 x malboro tentacles which you can get from modding 8 malboro cards 4 energy crystals - mod 40 Elnoyle cards 4 sharp spikes - dropped by Armadodos in the Tomb of the Unknown King - or mod from Death Claw cards Zell needs: 1 x adamantine which you'll get from the same place you get it for Squall's weapon 4 x dragon skin - which is dropped by low level Grendels which you'll also be fighting to get the Dragon Fangs for Squall's weapon so you can do that at the same time 1 x Fury Fragment - mod from 4 Blue Dragon cards Selphie needs: 1 x adamantine which you'll get from the same place you get it for Squall's weapon 3 x Star Fragments - mod 9 Iron Giant cards 2 x Curse Spikes - mod 2 Tri-Face cards You can get Irvine as far as the Bismark which is the best weapon available for him until disc 3 when Moon Fragments become available He needs: 2 Steel Pipes which you can either get from low level Wendigos in the same forest you go to to hunt Grendels for Dragon Fangs and Dragon Skin for Squall and Zell's top weapons - or mod from Elastoid cards 4 Dynamo Stones - mod 4 Blitz cards 18 Screws - dropped by Geezards on the plains around Deling city - or mod 4 Geezard cards Rinoa needs........ a little luck .... as well as some items. She needs: 1 Force Armlet which can only be gained without leveling up from the X-ATM092, and it doesn't always drop it when you destroy it. 2 Windmills - mod 2 Abyss Worm cards or dropped by Thrustaevis on the plains around Galbadia 1 Regen Ring - mod 10 Chimera cards or get from Vysage's pal "Lefty" on the foothills of the mountains south of Galbadia - (you can also get them from Chimeras in the Dingo Desert but the encounter rate is so low that it's not worth bothering) 2 Energy Crystals - mod 20 Elnoyle cards If you miss the Force armlet from X-ATM092 - you can level up and get them from level 30+ Forbiddens in the Tomb of the Unknown King, or level 30+ Ochus in the forest near Obel lake. Otherwise you'll have to settle for her next best weapon, The Cardinal. For that you need: 1x Cockatrice Pinion - mod from 1 Cockatrice card - or you can find them on the plains and forests around Galbadia 1 x Mesmerize blade - mod 1 Mesmerize card 1 x Sharp Spike - dropped by Armadodos in the Tomb of the Unknown King - or mod from Death Claw cards. You're welcome
Quite a few people drop elnoyle cards. I got them from zells mom, a dude in the library first screen, doctor in the infirmary, and the back quistis groupie in the cafeteria. It's nice battling different people, I feel like you get different cards to mod as well.
Zells limit break duel abuse together with meltdown or doomtrain cast on foe, will deal more damage then lionheart. omega will be gone in about 2 minutes.... But of course lionheart looks way cooler.
Lol, I love how there's all of these videos focusing on getting Squall's Lionheart early because it helps you have a chance of a finisher that deals more damage...meanwhile good ol' Zell can always deal out good damage, no weapon upgrade needed, and in a more interactive way than just tapping R1 imo
You can get all the cards you need for the energy crystals as soon as you can play they back guy in the cafeteria. I got all twenty inside a half hour. It's actually the first requirement you can meet.
T-rexuar drops dragon fang over level 30, if your over level 30 before lunatic pandora dream sequence you can steal energy crystal off the pipe monster and also you can get adamantite off the turtles next to dollet ;) that will save your cards
It's actually Laser Cannons you can mug from the 30+ Elastoids in the Lunatic Pandora Laguna dream on Disc 1, not Energy Crystals, but they still refine into Pulse Ammo as well (5). I never knew this before reading your comment.
Yep, this was my go to strategy. But I remember being cautious with t-rex because I needed its star fragments for Selphie's best weapon before it leveled too high.
For those who don't want to sacrifice the Minotaur Card: You will have to wait a little while longer, but you can get the Adamantine as a Mug/Steal from the BGH251F2 boss at FH... Although it's on Disc 2, it's actually fairly early into it and if you are a Triple Triad maniac like me you can still keep all your rare cards!
@@hallowfeather2412 gameplay-wise, not really... But if you want to do 100% with all triple triad cards, you can still get it back from Card Club later on (though getting rare cards from those guys is torture)
A much easier way to get pulse ammo is to fight the belhelmel, they drop laser cannons which u can refine into pulse ammo! Much easier that playing cards, u can find them outside the garden by the forest where u get the dragon fangs. That's who I got my lionheart disc 1:)
@@grabygrabielagrabielyta1029 no you can get there right after the timber mission just keep taking the train til the end of the tracks. Ive gotten lionheart on disc 1 so id know lmao
Technically, FF8 is by far the easiest of all the series, I've played it so many times, you can be already a God-like at the very beginning if your GF's abilities tactic is good enough. The bosses are weak af, and the monsters can be killed easily by physical attacks as you fear to spend magic against them as your stats gets lower.
Maybe easy after a 2nd playthrough if you knew nothing about the game the first playthrough. Also, the game has been out since 1998. Of course it's gonna be a lot easier now to most people.
@@HINDERIZED it was diffocult as hell on my forst playthrough since I started some power leveling until level 20 before foghting Ifrot just to realize that my enemies got stronger and mine much weaker. What a twist for somebody who never knew about the level adaptation
With Zells mom you’ll need to leave town then come back if she stops playing elnoyle. Also in balamb if one npc stops then switch and they’ll play a few before they stop.
The Elnoyle card shows up more often with the MiniMog in your hand playing with Cid, the guy in the back in the cafeteria and the two girls in the classroom, I have Diablos and had a hell of a time with him in my hand trying to get players to play Elnoyle. You can get the MiniMog card from the little boy in the blue shirt running downstairs from the elevator around the directory.
The only version I ever played was the original psx version. I wonder of this works on that one? That is only out of curiosity as I don't care to get Lionheart of Energy Crystals early anymore like I used to. I first got Lionheart on disk 1 back in 2003.
Always found theses earlier Final Fantasy games so relaxing. Never got the Lionheart on disc1 myself, just never felt right getting it so early on in the game! Keep the Final Fantasy content coming FuzzfingerGaming.
Between how enemies increase with your levels, how strong you can get the GFs, how OP you can get party stats, and the fact that you can get some 2nd best, even ULTIMATE weapons so very early.... It's like they want you to just avoid level grinding....
what?!?! a game that focuses on story instead of grinding constantly for hours to fill the time?!?!?! it's like this game wasn't made in this day and age ;)
Really it's the same thing but the game rewards you for avoiding EXP specifically. You want to get stronger you'll still eventually have to grind battles but turning enemies into Cards and gaining only AP instead on it's own will easily imbalance the game in your favor. That goes for everything else. There is still a grind but it's just not specific to watching those little numbers go up. (Which every level up is only 1000 EXP, only mentioning that if no one was aware. It takes no time to hit max level)
I managed to get Elnoyle cards from the Quistis groupie guy (The one in the back in the canteen), Dr Kadowaki in the infirmary, the gatekeeper (When you go through the barriers) and also a random guy who is sometimes to the left of the screen after going through the barrier. I had Lionheart in Deling City. The actual Lionheart limit didn't pop often, but because I had Tornado junctioned to strength on Squall I was dishing out a lot of punishment :)
On the second floor outside the classroom 2 girls can spawn at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes they walk away and sometimes its a guy and a girl. Keep walking in and out until it 2 girls standing there talking. U want to play the one with her back to the screen, with the short brown hair. She plays not only elnoyle, but also snow lion, abyss worm, ruby dragon, and iron giant. Got 100 tornado and blizzaga for 2 chars, the 10 ruby dragon for quistiss limit, and the 20 elnoyle about the same time.
For those havin issues with the elnoyle cards zells mum does drop them however i have found that in balamb garden in the cafeteria you can find two dudes sittin at a table they are trepe groupies if you challenge them it will ask challenge the guy in front or the guy at the back if you play the guy at the back he drops the elnoyle cards at a much higher rate than zells mum i have found that sometimes he qill play them 5 times in a row at least he did for me with zells mum it took me 2 and a half hours to get the elnoyle cards with the guy in the cafeteria it only took 45 minutes hope its helpful
minor other recommendations are to keep squall and everyone else besides sefier at min level. You can do this simply by being on the dollet mission kill the other 2 members and level sefier to huge level pretty simple considering u can both draw cures from enemies and get potions so no worries about healing and free amount. Always keep cocobo world open if playing on steam just turn off event wait and let it run. You may also wanna keep a +1 or extra card then whats needed if you wanna be sure your going for all cards. Awesome video tho and is a huge help. Thanks.
I dunno how more efficient this is but I seem to get more elnoyle cards from the head teacher in the school, also the best way to get most of the other cards you need early game
I just wanna add that I was about level 64 with Squall when I got to this point and realized it really doesnt drop, so I switch Rinoa and Quistis in the party, they're both Lvl 17 and started doing the card strat. I got 35 Grendels before I got 4 Dragon Fangs... LOL. Thanks for the info.
If you never acquire Squall's other weapons, am I right in saying that the game never has the other limit finishers they provide to randomly choose from? Having just the revolver (which is mandatory of course) and the Lionheart would give you the best possible chance of seeing that finisher most frequently?
You can get Squalls 2nd best weapon right off the bat. All you need is a few cards available in balamb garden: 6 iron giants, 3 adamantine, 1 tonberry, and 2 geezard. Card mod them, n head to balamb junk shop n pay 1000 gil.
Good Technique for Elnoyle's is to run back and forth from battling Zell's mom and the drop out student crouched by the docks. Run into the hotel to save . I find that once you get the card from one run to the other and they should have a fresh set of 4 or so battles where they will use the Elnoyle. If they don't use it after so many, run out of town and come back in.
Elnoyle card from guy in vest in front of Inn by the dock. That guy gave me over 10. Went back and forth from him to Zell's mom. Dragon fang from T Rex in training graden place.
This game isn't really about lvl to begin with, you can be lvl 100 and still be weak af. I didn't understand at first and grinded squall all the way to lvl 80 just before setting out to timber
for me it's much more easy to farm dragon fangs from T-rexuars. (I guess it's because of my rigorous AP farming from fastitocalon-f makes my level sky rocketed that much xD) but you're right Grendels are much more easier.
Just got it in Disc 2. Holy shit, what a grind. Thanks for the vid 😊 Btw for anyone viewing this comment and attempting this method: a better way to get Elnoyle cards is to play the guy sitting in the back of the cafeteria inside Balamb Garden. He plays that card a lot more than Zell’s mom in my experience.
To anyone who missed the chance to farm elnoyle cards in balamb garden there’s still hope!!!! You can still farm it from galbadia garden just go the corridor with stairs on the right sometimes empty others will spawn three dudes exercising, there will be a kid coming down from the stairs( if you don’t see him just walk in and out of the corridor) he will drop it for you not as much as the cafeteria dude in balamb but you can still do it... I got mine today
You Can't Farm Adamantoises For Adamantines Without Getting At LEAST "One" Character To About Level 67. That Was How I Was Able To Draw "Reflect" Off Them At Level 30+ On Disc 1. At Least I THINK That Was The Level I Farmed The One Character To?
Hi fuzz. I was farming my Dragon Fangs for my LH ,just for fun,and i discover something really funny. I tried to use card on Grendel after squall hits him 2 Times (around 800 damage at lvl 8 with100 Tornados + STR 20/40%),and after 80 battles i never receive a dragon fang,i thought i was really unlucky,so i tried instead of that, hitting Grendel with Quistis 4/5 times (around 350 with 100 tornados) and i received everytime a dragon fang for each battle,i tried on 20 battles after that, and i always gain a dragon fang,so i think i manipulate the drop rate from the rare item. Gonna try on other battles to see how it works, but hope it helps for the future. And soz for my eng, good luck, and cool videos mate ^^
Ze TheGame I think Ruben was basically saying was how much and what magic he had equipped too certain stats with the damage output included. At least that’s what I understand from Ruben’s post.
I've gotten 13 Elnoyle cards from the lower trepis fanclub girl in the classroom, she seems to alternate between Abyssal Worm and Elnoyle. found roughly with good luck she used 3 every 6 matches or so between the two cards.
To be honest Fuzzfinger I only became aware of the remake for Final Fantasy VIII about a month or so ago I've known about the remakes for 7, X, X-2, and XII and while I've played X and XII, VIII is my favorite. Truth be told there might be another character that could do with early ultimate Weapon and that's Selphie with her Strange Vision Nunchaku. So I thank you for bringing this.
Bro I needed to get through ffviii quickly because I'm a grown-ass man with responsibilities and not a whole lot of time, so your videos helped a great deal. Subscribing for sure (also for anticipation of your ffvii remake videos) - keep up the excellent work!
Is there a way to get adamantine without losing the minotaur card, or a place to get another minotaur card? I don't like the idea of losing my cards unless I have a double.
Gonna be honest....I have played this game maybe 6 times and have not completed it once and have never built the lion heart and rarely upgraded wepons in my playthru...I have just got the remastered edition 2 days ago and have about 9 hours gameplay and didnt know about the dolleet ap farming part and have thought about restarting....but I have about 7 hours of triple triad going and just got the items needed pulse ammo
Sorry to bother you ve sub to your channel and found your vids extremely helpful I played ff7 ff8 back in 1997 and never really understood how complex the junction system was and I never knew the enimies scaled with you in ff8 lol. So my request of you kind sir is can you do a video or videos on how to get all final weapons on first disc and the Irvine final weapon and how to get that as early as possible please I'd really appreciate it thanks.
Dragon fang is SO much easier from T Rexaurs. Have party level 20+ and it drops pretty easily. Got 12 (6x twice) today farming then in the training area in Balamb
Remembering only from way back in the original FFVIII and don't know about any changes to the Remaster, but back then the biggest bonus for getting the Lionheart is that if you *don't* get any of the weapons *between* Revolver and Lionheart, you won't have to deal with any of the Limit Breaks from them as part of your RNG. As a result, you end up procc'ing the LH limit quite a bit more often. And Zell's mom was always one of my favorite options for early game TT binges, though there are other NPCs mentioned in other comments.
The ultimate weapons in ff8 are a waste of time. If there was a race to the 255 cap for strength and hit%, the guy who took the original weapon the whole way focusing on junctioning abilities/magic wins.
Yeah, still makes the game funner though Its why the junction system is just very good. You have freedom of levelling stats the way you want to. Compared to FFX(actually my favourite FF), where the "freedom" of stat maxing are only up to a certain point as you're forced to progress to unlock the lvl grid. Worst system goes to 13 though, you literally can't even level up freely until endgame
@@zul2788 I liked ffx. You could class mix to an extent with the teleport and return spheres, and I thought that was the right amount of work involved. Like it wasn't impossible to teach Wakka magic, but it took some work to do it. You couldn't just junction Ultima to his magic stat and make him a 255 mage.
Actually you can get most characters' ultimate weapon before the end of disc one except Irvine's because it requires Moon Stone. Quistis's and Rinoa's will have you grind for loads Elnoyle Cards because they require Energy Crystal.
Thanks for checking out the guide, let us know if you get your Lionheart (and congrats if you do)! Don't forget to check out my full Final Fantasy 8 walkthrough here: ruclips.net/video/UUXdsXL3dJc/видео.html
I have a question pertaining to your last video. Can I do all of that after I come back from the seifer mission. I really don't want to gain any levels and seifer would be good to gain AP with apparently.
I always seem to gain a level while trying to get the card ability unlocked
What will happen with Minotaur card? can I find it again?

You can get the quistis card from a few diffrent people

His way of putting the credits in the beginning of the video is why his channel isn't popular, pretty annoying.

Edit- want to give credit for this to a youtuber named Mike Bettencourt for this- his video pointed this out to me.
ruclips.net/video/PD6Yb8lhLI4/видео.html
Yeah I noticed that too plus he gives you Red Dragon or whatever it's called
I've done it on disc one level 8 and have nearly 800 cards aswell, now I can play the game.
Same
Can i ask a question coz if you card mod a grendel card it turns into dragon fin? Not dragon fang?
@@cloudxd9280 you dont mod grendel bro. Instead you actually fight grendel right after second laguna dream, and before entering second garden.
Grendel has high chance of appearing (almost a guarantee) and high chance of dropping dragon fang when its level is below 20
Oh thats why i dont get dr fang even i try to card mod grendel card hahaha sorry my bad and thank you for the info im really confused coz this is the 1st time i play ff8
Was this your first playthrough? I don't have the card ability
As a Kid I pronounced it, Gal-Bah-Dee-Uh. lol
And Balamb as Buh-Lawm.
How bout Quezacotl xD
For some reason I've been misreading it all this time as gal-ah-bee-dee-ah. I somehow put an extra A in there. I kinda like it better, I'm going to stick with that lmfao
Dr .k in the infirmary in Balamb plays nearly every rare card you could need including elnoyle and abyss worm behemoth much more
Good to know, that'll help. Thank you.
There is also the two girls in the classroom fyi
Monster cards aren’t rare
-Dragon Fang from T-Rexaurs
-Admantine from Admantoise outside of Dollet on the beach
-Play triple and get 20 Elnoyles (fairly common card; stick to playing anyone who you find has one) -> refine (Card Mod from Quezacotl) to energy crystals (10 cards = 1 energy crystal) -> refine 2 energy crystals (Ammo-RF from Ifrit) into 20 Pulse Ammo
You now have all ingredients for the LionHeart on Disk One
Thank you so much. Just got my Lionheart on disk 1 following your guide. Keep up the good work 😀
I found that cid gives u the card way more frequently I got them in an hour
Trepie fan #1 in the cafe was where I got about 20 Enoyle cards. He doesn’t play it every round but he played it often enough (in my particular playthrough).
He ONLY plays level 5 cards (Elnoyle is level 5 card) so he is the one who you are most likely to win them from fastest.
I noticed I've been getting some Elynole cards from the guy at the Reception gate over at Balamb Garden. He plays some decent cards as well.
It’s who I got my 10 from.
In addition to the Lionheart you can get 4 out of the 5 top weapons for each other character on disc 1 without leveling up
Quistis needs:
2 x malboro tentacles which you can get from modding 8 malboro cards
4 energy crystals - mod 40 Elnoyle cards
4 sharp spikes - dropped by Armadodos in the Tomb of the Unknown King - or mod from Death Claw cards
Zell needs:
1 x adamantine which you'll get from the same place you get it for Squall's weapon
4 x dragon skin - which is dropped by low level Grendels which you'll also be fighting to get the Dragon Fangs for Squall's weapon so you can do that at the same time
1 x Fury Fragment - mod from 4 Blue Dragon cards
Selphie needs:
1 x adamantine which you'll get from the same place you get it for Squall's weapon
3 x Star Fragments - mod 9 Iron Giant cards
2 x Curse Spikes - mod 2 Tri-Face cards
You can get Irvine as far as the Bismark which is the best weapon available for him until disc 3 when Moon Fragments become available
He needs:
2 Steel Pipes which you can either get from low level Wendigos in the same forest you go to to hunt Grendels for Dragon Fangs and Dragon Skin for Squall and Zell's top weapons - or mod from Elastoid cards
4 Dynamo Stones - mod 4 Blitz cards
18 Screws - dropped by Geezards on the plains around Deling city - or mod 4 Geezard cards
Rinoa needs........ a little luck .... as well as some items.
She needs:
1 Force Armlet which can only be gained without leveling up from the X-ATM092, and it doesn't always drop it when you destroy it.
2 Windmills - mod 2 Abyss Worm cards or dropped by Thrustaevis on the plains around Galbadia
1 Regen Ring - mod 10 Chimera cards or get from Vysage's pal "Lefty" on the foothills of the mountains south of Galbadia - (you can also get them from Chimeras in the Dingo Desert but the encounter rate is so low that it's not worth bothering)
2 Energy Crystals - mod 20 Elnoyle cards
If you miss the Force armlet from X-ATM092 - you can level up and get them from level 30+ Forbiddens in the Tomb of the Unknown King, or level 30+ Ochus in the forest near Obel lake.
Otherwise you'll have to settle for her next best weapon, The Cardinal.
For that you need:
1x Cockatrice Pinion - mod from 1 Cockatrice card - or you can find them on the plains and forests around Galbadia
1 x Mesmerize blade - mod 1 Mesmerize card
1 x Sharp Spike - dropped by Armadodos in the Tomb of the Unknown King - or mod from Death Claw cards.
You're welcome
Quite a few people drop elnoyle cards. I got them from zells mom, a dude in the library first screen, doctor in the infirmary, and the back quistis groupie in the cafeteria. It's nice battling different people, I feel like you get different cards to mod as well.
I mustn't do this as the game's already too easy...but....It's LIONHEART, the best limit break ever.
Selphie the end is also good XD
Zells limit break duel abuse together with meltdown or doomtrain cast on foe, will deal more damage then lionheart.
omega will be gone in about 2 minutes....
But of course lionheart looks way cooler.
I sweart that Old Man Admissiongate at Balamb Garden plays Elnoyles WAYYYYY more frequently than Zell's mom.
Hate Zell, never use him
Zells breaks do a ton of damage, but they are pretty boring and take forever.
@@TheSirSpence all the characters are annoying asf tbh
@@bettywhite2694 they are not the best ff characters but not all of them are annoying
How does he break alot of damage though? How can i make him stronger?
You can get all the cards you need for the energy crystals as soon as you can play they back guy in the cafeteria. I got all twenty inside a half hour. It's actually the first requirement you can meet.
thanks. cant wait til midnight tonight. gonna have fun playing this game
Oh yes, it’s gonna be fun!
@@SoaralotMusic that's it lol sorry for the misinformation...
Yep, this was my go to strategy. But I remember being cautious with t-rex because I needed its star fragments for Selphie's best weapon before it leveled too high.
In the Remastered version for PC (Steam) I was able to get a good amount of Elnoyle cards from the gatekeeper at Balamb Garden.
Note that sacrificing the Minotaur card isn't permanent, as one of the Card Club will have it in Disk 4 if you do Card Mod it.
@@RoderickEtheria looking for this answer, I have sacrificed my minotaur card. glad I could get it back. thanks
Is the Minotaur card important to keep?
@@hallowfeather2412 gameplay-wise, not really... But if you want to do 100% with all triple triad cards, you can still get it back from Card Club later on (though getting rare cards from those guys is torture)
You can get it by fighting the brothers and have card mod
Found it easier to grind for adamantine from the beach around dollet.
A much easier way to get pulse ammo is to fight the belhelmel, they drop laser cannons which u can refine into pulse ammo! Much easier that playing cards, u can find them outside the garden by the forest where u get the dragon fangs. That's who I got my lionheart disc 1:)
According to the Bestiary. Belhemel only drops this on a 12/256 chance at level 30+. This only works for people happy to lvl up early.
I just got it without playing triple triad by Deling City! Took me about 4hrs. Sweet guide nonetheless
I remember doing this on one of my playthroughs and never used it until I was to a point where I felt it was time. didn't want to be too op lol.
I hope I'm off tomorrow because I have to work tonight. ☹
If you wanna keep your cards just head to the beach near Dollet and farm the Adamantoises til you get one lol
But that is in disc 2 when you can use the garden and this is in disc one
@@grabygrabielagrabielyta1029 no you can get there right after the timber mission just keep taking the train til the end of the tracks. Ive gotten lionheart on disc 1 so id know lmao
I brought this game only for the card game lol. Even though it is an App
will brito what app?!
@@mrshamwow87 Check the app store for, "triple triad'
Technically, FF8 is by far the easiest of all the series, I've played it so many times, you can be already a God-like at the very beginning if your GF's abilities tactic is good enough. The bosses are weak af, and the monsters can be killed easily by physical attacks as you fear to spend magic against them as your stats gets lower.
Maybe easy after a 2nd playthrough if you knew nothing about the game the first playthrough. Also, the game has been out since 1998. Of course it's gonna be a lot easier now to most people.
Yep, FFVIII should have had bonuses for keeping a pace in the story.
@@HINDERIZED it was diffocult as hell on my forst playthrough since I started some power leveling until level 20 before foghting Ifrot just to realize that my enemies got stronger and mine much weaker. What a twist for somebody who never knew about the level adaptation
You can get all the best weapons in Disc 1 other than Irvines if you're willing to grind cards
Thanks for that pal. I found the guy obsessed with Quistis in the cafeteria plays them every few games and and often plays them in quick succession
You can get the MiniMog card from the little boy in the blue shirt running downstairs from the elevator around the directory.
works confirmed
MVP Tip! 2h and I got em =) thx
You can have punishment before the seed exam by grinding cards.
Lol I just got it on the mobile remaster
Hello CID is known for playing those 20x card I had 1-2 hours better then Zell house
Getting Lionheart this early makes the rest of the game insultingly easy.
Thank you very much. I am going to try this now🙏
Just started playing the game and thanks for your videos
The “Trepe #2” in the classroom seems to play a fair amount of Elnoyal (however it’s spelled)
agreed. needed 7 remaining cards and got em all 7 within an hour
You can get dragon fangs off those grendal with the mug ability from diaoblos
minor other recommendations are to keep squall and everyone else besides sefier at min level. Thanks.
There is also a junk shop in Balamb right before the screen where you find the queen of cards
Sos un grande FuzzFinger! Gracias
Yes that is correct
The trepie in the cafeteria plays it the most once you get back to balamb from Ifrit
I like how strong I can get just from playing the card game, although it is tedious the reward for it is kinda worth imo
Mad respect for you
Elnoyle card from guy in vest in front of Inn by the dock. That guy gave me over 10. Went back and forth from him to Zell's mom. Dragon fang from T Rex in training graden place.
But it seems just STUPID to stay below level 20 for so long in the game...It's really just plane IDIOTIC!
Searchmeister not really, the enemies in 8 scale to squalls level so it’s always a fair play through
Not stupid...maybe tedious. There are reasons to do it though
They monsters level up too so the game challenges you to try to play differently
This game isn't really about lvl to begin with, you can be lvl 100 and still be weak af. I didn't understand at first and grinded squall all the way to lvl 80 just before setting out to timber
Never bothered doing this before mainly because I haven’t really gave much play time to the cards before. Might try this this time though
Same reason I forgot how I got the lion heart the last time lol
I found cid to play elnoyle a little bit more that Zells mom, but it was roughly the same.
for me it's much more easy to farm dragon fangs from T-rexuars. (I guess it's because of my rigorous AP farming from fastitocalon-f makes my level sky rocketed that much xD)
but you're right Grendels are much more easier.
Just got it in Disc 2. Holy shit, what a grind. Thanks for the vid 😊
Btw for anyone viewing this comment and attempting this method: a better way to get Elnoyle cards is to play the guy sitting in the back of the cafeteria inside Balamb Garden.
Thanks for the help I got mine.
was way less time consuming mugging elastoids for laser cannons. (Lagunas dream)
it is a rare steal but i got 5 in like 45 mins.
Very helpfull! I farmed elnoyle from the same guy that gives you quistis!
I see a lot of people mentioning farming Adamantoises in Dollet, but how do you get there outside of the SeeD exam?
Near the end of disc 1
You Can't Farm Adamantoises For Adamantines Without Getting At LEAST "One" Character To About Level 67. That Was How I Was Able To Draw "Reflect" Off Them At Level 30+ On Disc 1. At Least I THINK That Was The Level I Farmed The One Character To?
T Rexaurs in the training center will drop 6 or 7 dragon fangs sometimes and the doctor in the infirmary has elnoyle cards that come up quite often.
only if your average level is 20-29 will they drop d fangs. Just fyi.
Been playing against Dr. Kadowaki early game in Balamb Infirmary. She almost always carries the Elnoyle card with her.
How early though?
To save grinding time I wait till just after brothers on disc two. You get 5 free ammo in FH. Half the card farming is huge
Doing this now took days to get 20 elnoyle cards. Now trying to get dragon fangs and Adamantine
Lunch lady in balamb gardens cafeteria gave me at least 4 elnoyle so far 👍
Bro I needed to get through ffviii quickly because I'm a grown-ass man with responsibilities and not a whole lot of time, so your videos helped a great deal. Subscribing for sure (also for anticipation of your ffvii remake videos) - keep up the excellent work!
thanx for the guides, currently working on OP characters now!
The one that has the Quistis card, he has a lot of Elnoyle cards, plays them very often
I've been battling Zell's mother for 4 hours now (obtained 16)
Is there a way to get adamantine without losing the minotaur card, or a place to get another minotaur card?
I don't like the idea of losing my cards unless I have a double.
You can kill "Adamantoise" (tortoise) it's a random encounter at the beach near dollet
@@Ange02c and can we do it on disc 1? Or is that a later encounter?
@@shub125 Yes you can do it. When you are in Timber just go outside.

Hey! Does this method work for the original version of ff8 or just the remaster. Your vids rock btw!
Elnoyle card farming isn't for the faint of heart.
4 Swords,
In a Final Fantasy Game!?!
I was fuckin offended....
The ultimate weapons in ff8 are a waste of time. If there was a race to the 255 cap for strength and hit%, the guy who took the original weapon the whole way focusing on junctioning abilities/magic wins.
Yeah, still makes the game funner though
Its why the junction system is just very good.
