Since this is fresh in your mind, check out a band called The Warning. They went viral as kids (like 10-13 year olds) covering this exact song about 9 years ago. Since then they’ve started blowing up and Metallica invited them to do the cover again in their own style for the Metallica Blacklist album. They took it and made it their own and it is fantastic. Would be interesting to get your thoughts on their live cover of this from the teatro theatre show. The band is 3 sisters from Mexico and they are incredibly talented and very unique. You’ll like going down that rabbit hole.

@@DianeJennings unforgiven is a melodic spanish guitar style song but kinda sounds like an Old Western film score... I think it might "be more to your tastes".
The story behind Unforgiven is quite a sad one too. It has to do with his mother's death and the overly religious views he was brought up with... might be worth looking up the context before hand.

This iconic song has been covered by so many bands, it became hard to listen to after hearing it 8 or 9 thousand times......until a trio from Mexico covered it in 2014. Three sisters, 14, 12, and 9yrs old. FastForward to 2021 and Metallica plans a 30th Anniversary release of The Black Album. They asked specific bands to pick a song off the original album and do a cover of it, the only requirement was the lyrics had to be the same. They had 7 days to write and record the song and video in the middle of a pandemic. The band is THE WARNING. They are as good LIVE as they are with the studio recordings. Check out the release from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022, Enter Sandman. You won't be disappointed. For fun, maybe do a double reaction, first the 2014 straight cover, and, on the same reaction, the 2022 LIVE performance. They did Metallica PROUD.

Diane...After all this time watching and reacting to your channel, I never thought I would have the chance to connect a video of yours, with my favorite band in the world. Metallica did a 30th anniversary LP to their massive LP Black, which Enter Sandman is on. They invited 50 artists from around the world to do covers from this LP. They told them do turn it upside down, inside out, what have you, just keep the lyrics true to the originals. Track 1, Side 1 (of 4) is the re-imagined version of Enter Sandman. It's done masterfully by 4 young girls. 3 Hard rock sisters from Mexico, and 1 pop singer from Canada. "The Warning, Ft. Alisia Cara" made the song and shot the video in 6 days, in 2 countries, with American producers/mixing it. It's absolutely incredible, and they play it at every show they have today. They will be opening for 5 Muse shows this May in Europe, and hitting up just about every major festival there. Download, Rock AM/Ring, and many more. ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html

The lyrics are deep, and it has an element of classical music to it (actually, a lot of metal does). It’s really in your face, so for someone who isn’t used to metal, it may be intense, but there is a breakdown that’ll give you a little room to breathe and catch your breath. Thanks Diane, I really enjoyed your reaction to Metallica and since you also took care of the poem for today, I will just bash the keyboard with a non-poetic comment… I am an owner of “The Black Album” and have listened to it many, many times since it came out in 1991. “Enter Sandman” was one of five huge hits on the album and it propelled the band to super-stardom. “Nothing Else Matters” and “The Unforgiven” are 2 power-ballads from the album that I think you may like a lot more than “Enter Sandman”. According to the Wall Street Journal, As of Sept 2021, “The Black Album” is the fourth longest-charting album in the history of the Billboard 200 album-sales chart, dating back to March 1956, when it became a regular, weekly ranking. With 623 nonconsecutive weeks, it is behind only Journey’s “Greatest Hits,” Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Legend” and Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon.”

A lot of metal songs have deep lyrics. People just hear noise, usually. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Metallica has so many great songs to jump into, you can’t really go wrong with many. Speaking of deep lyrics, Linkin Park. Not metal, exactly. I’d suggest “Leave Out All the Rest” by them. The lead singer, Chester Bennington, killed himself a few years ago and listening to their songs now, he was asking for help for a looooong time and nobody really noticed. Any of their more popular songs would work too. Or one of their “latest” songs, Lost. It was recorded 20 years ago and was left off the album and when they were going through their stuff to put together a 20th anniversary box set, they found it again mixed and ready to go.

Chester Bennington allegedly unalive himself. That’s the official narrative. Bennington died on 20 July which is Chris Cornell’s birthday. Chris died two months before Chester.
Bennington and Cornell we’re both working on a project to expose some major dirty secrets on people. If you look into the way Chris and Chester died it’s more of a sacrificial deaths. Plus look into who Chester’s biological dad is.

This is the song that got me into Metallica! Their lyrics have some angst, but are usually fairly deep. "One" is among their most popular - the video may make you cry. My favorite is "Fade to Black" - a song about un-aliving oneself. Though it was heavily criticized, thousands of teens wrote to the band about how the song helped come back from the brink because they knew they weren't alone.
Another band you might enjoy is Alice In Chains. "Rooster" was a big hit and has a similar vibe.

GNR could’ve literally hand picked from hundreds of bands, but chose them above more established artists.
Muse was also so impressed with them, they personally asked them to open for them during part of their European and UK tour.

Metallica 80s/90s heavy metal music holds up well even to present day. The black album that sand man song is on is their number one selling album. Metallica lyrics have a poetry vibe to it with a metal vibe to it. Even wrote that on a school paper once. A Metallica song more your vibe you would like is nothing else matters. It symphonic and soothing with the poetry vibe adding acoustic and electric guitar. I can Picture You getting Chewie a Mohawk wig and a leather jacket for the Heavy Metal and Fast Paced Rock Songs. Renmakesmusic, Sam Tompkins, Romain Axisa, The Big Push (all of these acts are related) They all have their own special something to them as well. Ren is a lyrical genius and is very deliberate with his lyrics, musical tones, delivery, and even his videos. Sam's voice is absolutely lovely (the duet Blind eyed with Ren is definitely well worth the watch). Romain Axisa was the guitarist for the Big Push along side Ren for a time. His guitar skills are amazing. He also has his own solo stuff that's sweet and just lovely to listen to. AND they all come with the perk of not copyright striking you.
