    Djokovic did everything perfect in this point and it still wasn't enough...played to his backhand, whenever he switched to nadal's forehand he played an uncomfortable shot so nadal couldn't hit a winner, came forward superbly and at the right moment...nadal is just superhuman on clay. Just wow

    • @Mikri90
      @Mikri90 5 месяцев назад +15

      Not really perfect. The BH after he got a short ball after several good FH wasn't deep enough, still had a chance to fix it with the volley and the volley as decent as it was it wasn't enough against the speed demon that Nadal was at the time.
      But it does show one thing - Djokovic's absolute lack of fear to engage in rallies ON CLAY, with Nadal. No other player was ever comfortable doing that, as you pretty much get dragged to death if you play by his rules.
      And that ability surely resulted in a lot of success on clay, more than any other player can claim against Nadal. Nadal ended up with a 20-8 lead on clay, which is actually a smidgen LESS dominant that Djokovic vs Nadal on HC, where the H2H is 20-7.
      Your point about Nadal on clay still stands, easily the most dominant player on any surface, by far. He was a monster. I mean just the RG record, 14 titles, a win-loss record of 112-4 (like wtf?). Insane numbers.

    If the big three played today, Sinner and Alcaraz would remain only talented players. Behind the big three are unreal records, they all have their own records and they played together in one era. How much effort was needed to win something just among them. Just to remind you, 10 years in a row, no one but Andy Murray won the GS once (1), the rest are all the big three. that will never happen again. It is a great honor for me to have had the privilege to be a part of that golden era, which I repeat NEVER to repeat. Even in 100 years they will be talking about these guys (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer). Thank you for everything. After you, tennis will never be the same again.

      @megalodon_bite6887 3 месяца назад +5

      @@stefanapostolovski5481 Very possible, but against these three and several other top players who played, it would be difficult to win anything. The very fact that for 10 years in a row every GS was won by tennis players from the big three except for one won by Andy Murray says it all. And the very fact that he won at the age of 21, he won the GS and the final of the Olympic Games, says that he has no competition. I really don't know how he would fare against the big three. And the fact that Novak beats him at the age of 37 says it all. If he had appeared when the big three were in top form, I don't think he would have had anything to look for in tournaments. That's my opinion. And Novak entered the fight with Nadal and Federer as a super talented player, so he waited a long time for his first GS. When Novak won the first GS, Nadal had 7 and Federer 16, but Novak learned from every defeat, trained a lot, gave up everything to win and of course his recognizable mentality. And started towards the path of victory and conquest of the torofej, which was not at all easy, and now he is where he is. Alcaraz doesn't have that. I'm not saying they won't win more trophies, but this era can't be compared to that era.

    Congrats to Djokovic. Amazing match. I wonder if Djoker can squeeze one more slam (or more) out. Sinner and Alcaraz play better than old man Djokovic right now, but surprisingly nobody else does.
    I think Sinner and Alcaraz are both at “big 3” in terms of their actual game (hit every type of shot exceptionally well, return and serve, top tier mobility). It’s a relief actually to know that we’ll have another great era of tennis coming.
