I was raised on Country Music and Earnest Tubb will always be one of my all time favorites. The first time I heard this song I was with my favorite boyfriend who wound up breaking my heart in a million pieces. And through all these years I never truly got over him I still love this song although it brings back a sad time I wish I could forget, but that’s.......Another Story !!!

ET headlined to the Monroe County (WI) Fair in 1964. The Fair would consist of three acts, all Grand Ole Opry stars, with the main act going on at Nine O' Clock CST. ET was one of two people in the history of Opry stars at the Monroe County Fair (1962-1999) to play all three sets. The other was a fella who never amounted to much in music. His name was John R. Cash.
My Great Uncle got drunk (his words) with ET that evening as his bus driver took a wrong turn out of the Fair and stopped at the next bar, 8 miles away, to ask for directions. According to Uncle Buck, ET sat next to him at the bar and stayed there until three thirty AM when the County Cop came in and told them they'd had enough and to leave the bus parked.
