- I hate fingerprints that are all over my new Cybertruck! I test Sharkhide metal protectant for the first time on a Cybertruck.
We test this product with the only natural enemy of the Cybertruck, sticky little boys!

Thanks to the patent holder Clint for all the great info and to Mike at the sharkhide store for providing the product.
We couldn't be more thankful for the quality of this video, and the time you spent making it! We've been waiting to get it on some Cybertrucks, as we think it's perfect for them, and solve the problems of some other systems/coatings. He was able to do this with just some verbal instructions. This is great and very informative!.
I would love to try this on mine.
this video is awesome and amazing (and thx to Luke Soderling & wife, for humanity's sake for having lots of kids!)
Slated to pick up my Cybertruck next Friday! Looking forward to applying this stuff ASAP. 😎
Thx for the video!!!
Awesome. I pick mine up tomorrow, so this is right on time. Thanks for this.

Ordered. Thanks for a great DIY video
Interesting stuff and a great video.
I am still convinced that Elon's inspiration came from a common trash can unlike the common belief that it was from the Delorean...All jokes aside, stoked you got your dream truck.
Lol
Looking very slick!
Thanks! I turned out really nice.
Can you show us what the truck looks like in the sun? I’m curious to see how much the coating changes the appearance before I try it myself. Thanks!
It looks no different outside than inside. It very slightly darkens and evens out the finish. It’s a little less stark stainless and has a little more depth. Most people wouldn’t even realize that it’s on if they didn’t know better.
Great video! Very informative! Liked and Subbed!!
12:48 - Oops, you clearly missed a patch just above the fenderwell.
Yeah, first coat it’s easy to miss a spot.
Great DIY! Thanks for showing this. Curious, after you do a normal car wash, foam bath, etc… does the protectant still have the same performance? Also, does this protection provide a hydrophobic barrier where the water just beads up? Awesome stuff.
This will last a year or more. The water beats up really nice on it.
@@LukeSoderling - great.
GREAT video. Still waiting for my order. Got offer for Foundation series but don't have that about of money. BTW: How long does this one treatment last?
@@paulchao308 This will last well over a year.
Excellent video. How long does it last?
We gets 2-3 years out of it on pontoons depending on use. Really just depends on use, etc... on the bright side you don't have to strip it off to apply another coat.
Thanks. I plan on reapplying after a year to see how it works.
Quick and to the point. Application and (and the video) were 1/10th the time of the competition, Protectaclear. Product seems similar, but your technique was lightening fast.
Can you please do a follow up video on how it's holding up against bugs, road grime, washing the truck, etc.? Any con?
@@warriorsf911 It has held up very well considering the harsh excitement it’s been in. We live on a dirt road that has been under repair so the truck has been completely covered in dust, mud and sand. I used a vehicle wash brush a few times without realizing it would leave scratches with the sand, so there are some scratches now in the finish. I’ve switched to a microfiber pad and a pressure washer to get all the sand and dust off first. I’ll re apply the Sharkhide now to get a perfect finish again. I’m so glad I had it on as the scratches would have been in the stainless and not the Sharkhide that can be fixed.
Which size did you order 1 Quart? Great Video BTW
Thanks! Yes a quart will do it.
Remember to always wipe with the grain on the metal. Otherwise you will get scratches that become visible.
Yeah, direction of grain is a good idea. This lays out so nice that you really don’t get any directional grain after it dries though. Very impressed with how well it worked.
Great video. How often are you going to reapply the product? I imagine it wears off after x number of car washes
It will last a year or more. I’ll reapply after one year I think.
Hi ,This is tesstudio,a popular brand who make Tesla accessories! can we sponsor cybertruck accessories to your RUclips channel?😍😍😍
Would there be any issues with applying a wrap over the treated panels?
That would be a question for the wrap companies. You can remove this easily though with lacquer thinner and then a wrap would be no issue for sure.
Do we have professional doing this? I would like to pay for someone to do this for me since I don't think I can do that better like you did.
@@wonton120 I would think any body shop or some detailers would do it for you. But you can totally do it yourself. It’s so easy and with lacquer thinner you can remove it if the finish isn’t right. You really can’t mess it up.
@@wonton120 Also, if you really don’t want to do it yourself you can bring it to me and I’ll do it for you.
@@LukeSoderling sure, I can pay you to do it. Which city do you live if you don’t mind
@@wonton120 We are in Gilbert MN. Likely a haul for you.
