Funny, looking at the map, we didn't really get that close to the Diomedes or to the Arctic Circle. But definitely good decision to turn east and head to Nome instead!! :P

That was a longest day of a different kind. Always good when the captain and team make sensible choices when the ship is not made to cross icefields. I will keep an eye out for this itineary, since it looks all stunning, in one of the coming years.

You guys are better people than I am. I would be pissed missing the Diomede Islands, Arctic Circle and Ocean. Not sure who I would be pissed at; you can’t blame the captain for not sailing onward through that ice. The weather gods? Snow Miser? I am loving the videos and can’t wait for the rest of the trip.
sorry you missed the arctic circle. I crossed into the artic circle in June in Norway
We crossed it onboard NCL Prima last year, but we were hopeful again this year. Ah well!! :P

Question: Have you ever tried the Pan Asian breakfast from MDR? I did a repositioning cruise in April and loved it so much after taking a risk the first day, that I had it every day afterwards. SO delicious and not heavy. Every waiter I had was stunned this white lady ordered it, but all called it their "favorite". Try it!
Ooooh, I don't think so! My go-to breakfast became the congee and the aloo masala & egg bhurji combo, which is awesome!! :P ~Jay

They actually filled the viking sky pool with tons of bags ice 6 their polar plunge. I was not brave enough to do it.

Not typically. Funny, we both usually take very light pajamas, no matter what type of temperature we're cruising in. The blankets in the cabins are usually quite warm and we stay toasty enough, ha ha!! :P

You need to tell the solstice you want a refund. The solstice is supposed to be the longest day of sun - instead - there was NO sun. Are you sure you didn't wind up in antarctic where it was there was the least sun cause of winter? 😂
(I'm only 1/2 way through. Just announced you weren't crossing the artic circle. You might still get sun, just thought it was funny. Longest day of sun without sun. - and of course - the sun came out a minute or 2 later in the video.)
