I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos. I love cruising but don't go very often. These videos allow me to vicariously enjoy cruising. Someday I hope to serendipitously run into you guys on a cruise.
Last time we went to Seward, we were able to hike to glacier without me needing a massive knee brace (I'd had a big corrective surgery). We took a celebratory photo, started the walk back, and I tore a muscle in my calf. Hahah.
We usually sing hey bear and make it into a song. Altough we still managed to stumble onto a grizzly, however we where downwind and it was to busy eating and did not mind us. We ofcourse turned around 😄. I have been lucky enough enough to have seen a lot of different wildlife on hikes in (northern) B.C., B.C., Alaska and Yukon. And Dee I saw most moose in I think Jasper. Love that that HAL is using salt sparingly, great for salt / natrium restricted people. I hope the use spices and herbs in stead.
Oh my goodness. You are describing the French onion soup I just had on the Euro damn. I think that is an indication that Holland needs to get their French onion soup fixed. Unfortunately since this is at least the third Cruise I think it is now a pattern
Great vlog! Ya, our recent Alaskan cruise on Princess was the same as far as seasoning went; I think, they are catering to heart/diet healthy food and season yourself, oh well...the walk looked so tranquil! The skunk cabbage, the bear will pull it out of the ground and eat the roots, as far as the leaves go, if you are camping, I hear it makes fish on the fire mighty tasty if you wrap the fish in them and it steams it! The Devil's Claw is very dangerous if touched! You get a prickle in your finger, go to Emerg, because it is so fragile that it can break if you try to pull it out yourself and it has some kind of ooze that will burn for days, if not treated properly....hope this helps anyone reading! Look forward to the next one!👍
Love and watch most your videos….never saw Jay in sport coat for dinner…going on HAL in August…Club Orange…I told hubby he doesn’t need sport coat..I imagine some will wear them…he’ll probably bring one!
Yesssss, is that what they call cow parsnip? A Tlingit native presenter onboard the ship told us how his family likes to chew the stalk, but you can only do it indoors due to the chemical reaction with the sun. Crazy!!
We always forget the exact model number, but we put it in the video description for the tech-curious, ha ha. It's a small Canon Powershot point-and-shoot with 40x zoom that has served us well over the years!! :D
Jay your a barrel of laughs love watching you guys! Since it's so foggy what is the scenery like? How do you rate this port on scale 1-5 ? I like how you get a different experience in different weather types
Thankee! This was our third visit to Seward, including one time where we stayed overnight in between cruises, and we’ve enjoyed the nature and scenery. Normally, you would see so many mountains all around the harbor and the area where the ship docks!! :D
We’ve learned in the past that if you encounter a black bear, there’s a chance you can scare it away by making yourself appear large and making a lot of noise. It doesn’t work for brown bears though… they’ll usually just come charging at you no matter what!!
Love this video! You both look extra amazing! Have you ever partner with @legglife they share your super positive vibe or @thisalaskalife the husband could take D snorkeling ?
One of my favourite places in Alaska! Even just walking along the harbour is so pretty here! This series has been amazing ❤
Really enjoy the chat between you both, keep the excellent flogs going
Thankee! Glad to have you along for our random craziness!! :P

We8ve not been to Seward, but we certainly know what to do if we ever do go-lovely day. Thanks!
This is my idea of a perfect port day! Too bad Zudy’s cafe was not open. It is a delightful spot for coffee and a quick lunch. Thanks for sharing!

Let there be salt!!! Season that food HAL🛳️🛳️
This Masquerade by George Benson, or The Carpenters 🎶🎭🎉
Dee question do you down load your photos into a album or do you frame and hang some . They are all beautiful 😻
Thankee! They're all downloaded and living on hard drives for now, ha ha.
Have you come across wild parsnip? Looks like queens Anne lace and it gives basically chemical burns

We saw a moose and her baby at Denali. Have you guys been there? It was so amazing. We also saw Grizzly bears and their cubs!

Do bears poop in the woods - or do they use the latrine?
Apparently they use the portable toilets there at the trail, but not very successfully!! :P
Photos are postcard worthy! Beautiful!! Also, loved the commentary!!
Hey dee and jay, what month do bears start sleeping and how long do they sleep for ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, that was old moose poop :)
It doesn't look very wheelchair accessible. very pretty though.
Why do you need a whistle Jay?
To scare bears away if they come across one

Should be called 2 pond trail not 2 lake

Thankee! Dee did snorkel for the first time in Alaska on this very same trip, but she said she’d definitely love to do it again, ha ha!! :P ~Jay
