Been on two HAL and one Princess Alaskan cruises. June 2025 will do the 28 day cruise and your videos, Dee's photos, and all the commentary has me so excited. Thanks for your great work, as this will help me plan next years cruise. Keep up the great work. Thanks.
I enjoy watching you two laughing at each new bend in the road. Jay, I love your wry smile and how you and Dee compliment each other! I've taken a cruise on the Holland America Westerdam to the carribbean... it's a wonderful ship. I haven't lived in Alaska for quite a while, but those mountains still take my breath away! Thanks for all of the videos from your 28-day Arctic Circle cruise. It's going to be tough to top this one!! Stay safe and rock on!! ❤
We try to be as mindful and as respectful as we can when visiting places, just as a common courtesy and so that we don't interfere with others' enjoyment of a place!! :P
I "thumbs up" the video because I love you guys, but I'm having a hard time enjoying this chilly vacation. I try to have a vicarious vacation experience when I'm watching you, and ... I just don't want to be here?! Sorry, but never fear, I'll keep watching because I love you guys. :)
Wow such amazing wilderness!! Just think that you have burnt off lunch and you'll enjoy dinner more. Also I think that eagle was booing your singing Jay
I was in Dutch Harbor 1978-79 working 2, 6 month contracts processing King Crab and shrimp for college money. We lived and worked on an old WW2 Liberty Ship that they hauled up from the lower 48. At that time the old submarine dock(huge) was still standing and you could explore some of the bunkers. Bunker Hill and Ballyhoo provide excellent hiking and salmon returned to spawn in Unalaska river. No bridge, all travel by boat and our company used a old LCV to ferry us. have been looking at cruises that include this port and Kodiak Island. Thank you for your content😊
That's a lot of walking like hitting both Universal studios parks in FL in one day. I find double socks helps. Dutch Harbor is so far out there it's in the Hawaiian time zone. The deadliest catch crab boats come in there. I enjoyed your video and scenery.
Cute town, as many Alaskan towns are. Beautiful pictures of the eagles, except the one in the nest, she had a mean look, maybe protecting her babies! When you go to a town I’ve never heard of, or know where it is, I go to the map and find it!
google says this: An aperitif martini is a martini that can be considered an aperitif because it contains vermouth or sherry. Aperitifs are typically light, refreshing, and dry drinks that are served before a meal to stimulate the appetite. They often have bitter notes, herbal infusions, and subtle sweetness. Some other examples of aperitif cocktails include the Negroni, Gin and Tonic, Vodka Tonic, and Aperol Spritz.
Hey I know this is totally off the subject but I am here in Houston suffering with no power and lots of home issues related to the storm. I am not saying this for any sympathy I am just wanting to let you know how much I appreciate the respite from all that we are dealing with. Thank you for being you
I’m really enjoying your video of your trip. I’ll be going on Holland America’s Noordam on a 14 day collectors voyage in July of 2025. We leave from Vancouver. Thanks again. I have never been to Alaska nor been on a HAL ship. I have cruised elsewhere on Princess to the British Isles and Celebrity to the Caribbean.
Since the start of this series of vlogs I have been eagerly awaiting this video since Dutch Harbor is not a place that is cruised to. As an avid Deadliest Catch viewer and fan I am a little disappointed there was no reference to it since the base of operations for it is in Dutch Harbor. But I do understand if you are not familiar with the show there would be no reference to it.
Great video…you two are very brave and adventurous! I wish I was…am a bit older..lol! What are the gooey seed/berry things you eat in bowl at breakfast?
Another great video to watch (especially, when it’s 114 degrees in AZ). We have an Alaskan cruise in September, and I am looking for a jacket. What brand is Dee wearing in this video? Looking forward to your next video. 🥰
Wondering what Dee does with all her photos? Does she create a photo book after each cruise as a memory book? I use Shutterfly and create my mother a calendar each year with memories thruout the year and she loves them.
Hello, y’all take great pictures! What cameras does Dee use? We are taking our first ever cruise…to Alaska…and we would like to take good pictures like Dee.
We always forget the exact model number, but we put it in the video description for the tech-curious, ha ha. It's a small Canon Powershot point-and-shoot with 40x zoom that has served us well over the years!! :D

This question is not pertaining to the cruise ship. Just want to know how you two met you two are super cute together very informational and any children in your near future please and thank you from Indian hills Nevada
Was looking forward to this one, because I've been curious about Dutch Harbor because of the show "Deadliest Catch". Unfortunately for me, the repeated musical references to eagles, kind of ruined it. 🙁
Yeeeah, it’s not a show that we actively watch, though they did mention it onboard in a presentation prepping us for Dutch Harbor. It appears to be mostly a winter-time season for them, so I don't know that there was much Deadliest Catch stuff going on in the summer during our visit!!

Dutch Harbor - huge Deadliest Catch fan - would love to go there!!
Thank you Jay for always being respectful in religious places. Unlike some others who make a lot of noise or don’t remove headgear.
And Dee too of course

Hey...Take It Easy with all those Eagles puns!
It was lovely to see Unalaska.

I believe I would’ve had to shower and order room service after all that walking. I would’ve been exhausted. 🦅

Dee's a great photographer! Haha eagles songs nice walk love the eagles

Great video ! Thanks for showing me a place I know I will never see.😊
We were just on that same cruise. It was very different. And sometimes cold
Really enjoying these videos. Just added this cruise to my bucket list.

I’m gosh! You really got some gorgeous eagle pictures Dee! You should make some into postcards or something to sell!

I will be there for two weeks next year 😍😍😍
I saw my first bald eagle bere in Colorado sitting on a light post. I guess they are prime spots.
What a pretty town !

Take it easy by the eagles
I would have avoided the salad Jay got because I absolutely despise frisée! I would have been very happy with the dish you actually received! 😛
To catch a Dee you need to but Jay in that cage 🤭😉
Dang 10!!!! 2022 version of J is so proud of 2024 J!!!!!!
the title of this video should've "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" lol!
Great video…you two are very brave and adventurous! I wish I was…am a bit older..lol! What are the gooey seed/berry things you eat in bowl at breakfast?
Chia seeds!! :D

This one is "32 Degrees" brand that I picked up on Poshmark!! :D ~Dee

There’s even a handy dandy chapter timestamp link for it in the video description!! :P
Bonsai is an art form not a type of tree. I just learned that ❤
Oooooh, apparently I just learned that as well, thankee!! :P ~Jay
@@parodeejay the next time you cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale look up Japanese garden. There's an included garden tour, it's so good!

Wow! Unalaska! How long did it take to get from Seward to Dutch Harbor? It's definitely an unusual port stop. So cool.
Seward was the 16th and Dutch Harbor the 18th, so we did have one sea day in between.
@@parodeejay As a crow flies, that is 780 miles. So they were chugging. It is cool you were able to visit there.

Thankee! We've done a few Q&A videos in the past where we dig into all those sorts of things!! :P
@@parodeejay oh I guess I missed those. Have to look in the archives. Lol

You guys didn’t go to the port where the Deadliest Catch boats are. Very disappointed. 😢
