From recent headlines another reason to not go on a cruise is if you can't control a tendency to exhibit aggressive behavior. Ain't nobody got time for that!

@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Could you video a cruise where other than what you need internet for (your channel), from booking everything manually. From in-person travel agent to not accessing internet for dinner reservations/excursions, etc. That is how I would cruise - NO INTERNET ON PHONE - Theme Parks are problematic for the SAME reason. Please. I so enjoy your videos, Thank YOU!

That's an interesting video idea for sure. I think you can do all that with a travel agent in advance who can also print your documents before you leave for the port. Once you're onboard, you can use the interactive TV and screens around the ship to book dining reservations and shows. Not sure how you would check in for your flight on the way home, though, except doing it directly at the airport! And yes, I despise that you can't really enjoy a day in a Disney park in Florida anymore without constantly checking your phone!

@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Thank you. Would the river cruising be a better option? The access to the room and in-room TV seems to be hours after boarding and it seems many things can't be booked until you are on board. It seems even the muster drills demand phone internet. I was on an Alaska cruise recently. There were 5 or 6 ships at the port of Ketchikan. It felt like there were 10,000 people roaming a 5-block radius. There were too many people for a port that size. I should have stayed on the ship that day!

Had a co-worker book a cruise and hit me up relentlessly for advice. I was as patient as I could be, but it was annoying because so much of it was so basic and easily researched on her own. I don't mean to be a snob at ALL, but half the fun for me is the planning and figuring out my best options for each port. I gave her lots of tips. When she got back, she informed me that cruising was not for her. She did not book a single thing in any port. She and her family attempted to book a beach club in Cozumel two nights before the ship left and it was booked solid. They never left the ship. They were terrified of being in "a foreign country" and too afraid to venture out. No, no Barb, cruising is not for you. Nor is any travel beyond what you can drive to.

He methodically plans flights transfers hotels and then excursions AFTER much research of course. I don't mean to be rude but the "friends" who have never cruised b4 asking endless questions AFTER you have given information AND suggestions...ugh. All they see are the incredible photos and think it happens easily. Maybe we should steer these people to a travel agent???

We are one of "those" who are not into cruises. That may change if we ever take another one on a modern ship. We vacation in timeshares, so we are basically living in a large 2 bedroom apartment for a week. With a full-size kitchen, dining room, living room. laundry room, and 1-2 bathrooms. We pay under $300 for the week. Yes, we pay extra for meals, entertainment, and a rental car, but for us, that's what we want. Once we both are 100% retired, we will have more time to travel, and a cruise may be an option. We just would need to find a cabin with an electrical outlet by the bed (we have a cruise-legal multiplug adapter) as we both have CPAP machines so that's an issue on some ships.

I had a situation in which I really needed to leave a cruise and go home and couldn't. We were on a one week cruise for our 20th anniversary and my mother was at her home getting cancer treatments. The cruise had 6 stops and only the last day was an at sea day so I thought that worst case if something happened we could leave from whatever port we were at. She was holding her own at that point so it seemed unlikely anyway. We had pushed off the night before our at sea day and a few hours in my sister called to say that my mom was in ICU and I was needed at home as soon as possible. We just stayed on the ship for the at sea day and left on the regular flight. It was not a fun time though - feeling trapped and consumed with worry. I did make it back in time though.

A few more reasons not to cruise. 1) You are an addict. Drugs are not allowed on cruise ships. I would also expect that those who need a nicotine fix every 5 minutes would be inconvenienced on a cruise ship, because smoking areas are limited. Gambling addicts are an exception, and the cruise lines would love to take your money in their casinos. 2) You don’t like the idea of “sampler” travel. One rarely gets enough time in each port to thoroughly explore and engage with the culture of a place. I like this, because I get just enough time to know if a place is one I would like to return to for an extended visit. Tourist heavy places rarely live up to the hype and one day is enough. 3) You don’t like or fear “foreigners”. Cruise ships cater to a diverse clientele from all around the world and are primarily staffed by non-Americans, so your fear of “the others” may make cruising uncomfortable for you. An RV trip within the U.S. may be a better option for these people, and I have recommended this option to those who have expressed these concerns.
Disclaimer: This post is mostly sarcasm, for those who may not have understood my intent.✌️

For me, the best reason not to cruise is that it costs a lot more to travel solo. There are some deals out there, but the solo supplement basically shreds any savings cruising offers over a land based hotel or airbnb. Solo cabins, when they exist, are still pricey, but they're basically shoeboxes. Cruise lines would get a lot more business from me if they would put some more effort into catering to me as a solo cruiser rather than punishing me for it. Many land-based resorts are the same way. I'd love to take myself on a vacation, but I'm not going to do it if I'm paying for an invisible person.
Flying is also the absolute worst. If airlines would bake any kind of predictability into their fares and schedules - and if you could be reasonably sure to get to your destination on time and with all of your luggage - that would be great. One of the worst parts of cruising is that you can book your cruise 2 years out, but who knows what airfare will be when you're able to book that 6 months out? No one, does! Airfare can cost half the price of the cruise and it's hard to budget for an unknown. Will there be overhead storage for your carry-on? Probably not, even if you buy a ticket that allows a carry-on. I swear, not having to fly is probably the best reason to choose something other than a cruise. I don't like starting and ending my cruise getting frisked, stuffed cheek-by-jowl with strangers into a cramped metal tube, running around the maze that is the airport, and worrying about delays. Sometimes, the stress of flying ruins the R&R benefits of a vacation. Sometimes, I just want to travel with an extra couple of layers and a full size shampoo bottle, darn it.

From very good travel tips to totally stupid cruise "tips" in just a couple of videos. How could that happen to Very unOfficial Travel Guides? The answer is very simple, and Morgan says it himself in this video: he doesn't care about the content anymore, as long as it serves the RUclips algorithm. What a pity.

He’s a full time creator now and that’s how he makes a living. Nothing wrong with that.

@@crazykev6491 Let's ask him about that. @Morgan: did you have a "real" job outside of YT since you started to be a full-time RUclipsr (in addition to be a full-time creator)? You never told your audience about that. If so, how did you manage to that? Did you extend your day to more than 24 hours?
