I am a mental health professional and my first thought is that she could have Dependent Personality Disorder and/or possible trauma that she is either trying to process by going back to school or she experiences extreme regression as a defense mechanism. I think it is actually very possible that she had rather "innocent" intentions and that she didn't really have a concept of how this could harm other people (or didn't care), but I don't have all the evidence so these are just theories.

@@mandabee73 that’s deep,,, I had some trauma in HS, false accusations, adult based punishments in my senior year. (25 years ago) I’d have these fluid dreams of going back re enrolling every few years or so and “fixing my last year or two of HS” none of it was about dating or relationships related, just literally an academic redo. The last 15 years i’d have follow up dreams but having done it and squaring the fact that i had two different graduation years and having wasted the time doing the redo or being judged for having done it. K sharing aside I have a similar take on this situation like you do.

Regarding the therapist and her domestic partner's awareness of the defendant's true age; "It'll be up to them to prove otherwise."
No, it will be up to the prosecution to convince a jury of their guilt. Whether they're guilty or not is irrelevant to the distaste of this "guilty until proven innocent" standard our justice system has steadily and deceptively implimented throughout the past twenty years or so.

Mental illness issues, not mental health. Mental health might be taking a day off work for personal reasons, due to stress, therefore, taking care of your mental health. Mental illness is a diagnosis of bipolar, psychosis, etc, where the person is affected mentally and needs treatment and/or meds.
