This was Definitely the most climatic finale in Critical Role. Vecna's finale brought tragedy, sorrow, and an aura of finality to the Tal'dorie campaign. Lucien brought a search of Identity, a lot more Gore and death in his final battle, and a rollercoaster of emotions. Makes me all the more excited for Campaign 3 and the potential new stories to tell.
Over the course of campaign 2, Taliesin went from just another member of the crew, to irreplacable, to now possibly the best thing about Critical Role. When Taliesin makes a play, put on your seat belt because it's gonna get interesting.
Even when all this would be over, even at the inevitable time when they'll stop making campaigns, I would still pay anything to have Taliesin create characters and just tell us stories about them forever. This might be how Elder Gods get to build their cults.
I was crying a lot in this section. First from closure and sorrow, and then that was replaced with sheer joy. It was amazing to be watching this live with others on Twitch and commenting on Discord. The shared experience is one I won't soon forget.
Thank you for including Caleb’s moment of pouring his energy into how good it feels to create and heal rather than destroy. It was one of my favorite lines of the whole campaign-Caleb’s come such a long way, and has spent so much time punishing himself, and now he’s finally able to connect with not only the part of him that’s always been desperate to heal a terrible hurt, but with allowing himself to feel the happiness that comes with having changed for the better, even in a tragic and uncertain moment.
Molly looking at Yasha and instinctually saying "Love" without quite knowing why is the most emotionally potent moment in Critical Role history for me. Taliesin, you beautiful eldritch bastard,
Tal’s face as he watched his friend try to save molly was heart warming and breaking at the same time! It’s like he knew that it wouldn’t work but he wanted it to so bad. Then when it didn’t he stepped in and commanded the dice to give his friends back their friend
Well... there's still the Assembly, T-Dock Project and possible resurgence of the Aeorian society to consider, courtesy of Charlie. I wouldn't be so sure.
@@Icipherx I am pretty sure Matt said they are venturing into the last leg of the campaign. I refuse to believe that they will be ending C2 on the next session because of all the loose ends currently floating around. I think its going be be a hectic last arc.
I find it a very fitting underline of the city in general, they went against the gods and delved deep into arcana. The raise dead spell attempted by the wizard fails but the devoted cleric pulls through with his gods intervention
That's how Molly got his name, the circus runner heard him saying "empty" over and over and assumed those were his initials. It's a reflection of his first resurrection sans Lucien.
I like to imagine that in many many ways Caduceus is the idea visage of a Wild Mother follower. One who has an understanding for the cycle of life, death, and what grows from it. From this, to then asking for someone he doesn't know to be brought back to life for his friends... for family... perhaps she could relate in this uncharacteristic moment.
I've told multiple people who play dnd but don't watch critical role about the nat 1 on a revival ritual and then a 2% divine intervention and they all agree that those two events happening mear minutes apart are insane. Man, I love this show.
18:08 Ashley’s little grin when she says “you guys didn’t get to meet” cracks me up every time. These kinds of shenanigans are exactly why she’s playing Fearne now
it would be nice to have a montage of molly with everyone, having tea and falling in-love with one of Cad's sister, sailing with Fjord and Beauregard, playing with Luke, cupcake hunting with Jester, cheering for one of Yasha's performances during Rumble in the Cusp Travel and Music festival, teleporting across wildmount with Caleb, and Xhorhause hot tub party with all of Mighty Nein.
I cant help but think that the four leafed clover Yasha handed over had a part in all of this, and ironic its was Caddy and The Wildmother that brought him back.
That was hilarious! I also read it in a metaphorical way; maybe this is a stretch but Molly kept running from his past (Lucien) because that scared him. Now we understand his fear. But this time, the M9 were there to call out to him, and he stopped running and went back. Because this is his past, not Lucien’s. These are his friends and he can trust them. Tal comes up with such great characters and I love how he makes them so different!
Molly was my comfort character, and left me with the influence leave a place better than you leave it to heart. Then came Caduceus and I loved him, this show is amazing. Thank you Talison 👏👏

Me, an emotional wreck at the end of the first campaign, crying over some snowdrops: I don't know how another party can repeat this Me watching this with tears flowing down my face: thanks for letting me know
The best part, for me, is Matt's palpable joy at the way events played out. You get the sense that it invigorated him and reminded him that DnD is a game of endless possibilities and the things that made their home game so special to them are alive and well even in their current, highly polished form. Bring on Campaign 3! Long may they reign.

May as well be the entire stream, the whole thing was a highlight
Ive seen all of camp 1 3 times and now all of camp 2 2 times this last episode was the best episode of either camp this was a 4 hour masterpiece
@@9474sammus let's see if 141 can beat it
Can we give some props to Taliesin and how he played molly coming back so well!
Might be one of Talisans best performances. I was blown away.
I feel like C2 gave us the ending we desperately wanted in C1. Sometimes there is a happy ending. Sometimes they all get to live.
Them getting ready to just fight the whole ass moon
@@Butterzzzz
Moon's haunted.
The best part was the ENTIRE twitch chat was spamming, "Long May He Reign!" at the end of the stream. Can't wait for Thursday.
Also all of the 'Thank you's in chat when the Aeorian souls thanked the M9. Amazing
i love how Matt reminds us its def him, u can barely hear, "first time, in a long time". a lil hard to hear bc their reactions lol
I loved Matt’s acting of Essek during this, you can visibly see the character development
I think that was him venting his frustrations through an NPC. You know he wanted them to succeed more than anything
@@brandonr7166 I agree, he just wanted to talk to his friends that he wanted them to succeed, and that wasn't fair. He such a sweet man
“Whatever it was just put it back. I think they’ve earned it.” Caduceus is the best friend anyone can ever have
Over the course of campaign 2, Taliesin went from just another member of the crew, to irreplacable, to now possibly the best thing about Critical Role.
And hes so calm about it. Like he knew it would work no problem
@@jothamfunclara6583 hes just tellin us stories of people hes met
watch c1. he was always was
I love Taliesin and his characters and the motherfucker knows how to make plays. Probably my favorite member.. I love him so much..
11:13
yasha freaking shattered my soul, iv never felt sheer sadness and grief in my life till i heard her trip over her words
Yea, that wasn't acting. That actual sorrow drive a knife in me.
And then at 18:08 the sheer contrast; the shit eating grin
caleb's "i tried" in response breaks me too
I was crying a lot in this section. First from closure and sorrow, and then that was replaced with sheer joy.
It was amazing to be watching this live with others on Twitch and commenting on Discord. The shared experience is one I won't soon forget.
I was SOBBING
Correction, I'm still sobbing.
@@benignsquirrel3600 can confirm, sobbing still happening
I don’t usually cry ever buy I shed a tear for this I’ve been watching since ep 45 and this was beautiful
I WAS THERE ❤️
loved this moment so much
Thank you for including Caleb’s moment of pouring his energy into how good it feels to create and heal rather than destroy.
I love how he doesn’t call them by their names but as the virtues he associates with them. I love it when Tieflings do this.
Molly looking at Yasha and instinctually saying "Love" without quite knowing why is the most emotionally potent moment in Critical Role history for me. Taliesin, you beautiful eldritch bastard,
DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO USE THE MUSIC VAX DEPARTED TO DURING CALEB'S PART??😭😭😭
yes.
i mean caduceus didn't accept it either so i'd say it fits lmao
That's the go-to track for an emotionally intense scene.
Please tell me what track that is, please!
@@MagizardInternet It's called Elven Dirge - I Lament!
Tal’s face as he watched his friend try to save molly was heart warming and breaking at the same time! It’s like he knew that it wouldn’t work but he wanted it to so bad. Then when it didn’t he stepped in and commanded the dice to give his friends back their friend
I can't believe it's going to end. I'm not ready to let go of The Mighty Nein, especially Caleb.
honestly i'm probably going to miss fjord the most.
Well... there's still the Assembly, T-Dock Project and possible resurgence of the Aeorian society to consider, courtesy of Charlie. I wouldn't be so sure.
@@WorldsOfWalsh They said the next session will be the ending of C2. They must be burned out.
@@deffdefying4803 I mean, I love all of them. I just personally relate to Caleb/Liam the most.
@@Icipherx I am pretty sure Matt said they are venturing into the last leg of the campaign. I refuse to believe that they will be ending C2 on the next session because of all the loose ends currently floating around. I think its going be be a hectic last arc.
You were never empty Molly; just a little too full. But now you’re just right. Perfect to grow and become more of yourself.
Empty.

Mollymauk Tealeaf
@@Piemasta9000 bruh...
chat at the thank you part was fucking nuts. Almost everything was just "Thank you"
The ONLY thing that could have made this moment any more poetic would have been Tal rolling a 09 on the d100.
what would that have done?
I find it a very fitting underline of the city in general, they went against the gods and delved deep into arcana.
The raise dead spell attempted by the wizard fails but the devoted cleric pulls through with his gods intervention
Daaaaaaammmnnn!!! That is so deep!!
Also, recall which two characters brought an end to the NeoSomnovem.
Empty = MT = Mollymauk Tealeaf
Very cute Talisen ❤️
That's how Molly got his name, the circus runner heard him saying "empty" over and over and assumed those were his initials. It's a reflection of his first resurrection sans Lucien.
Now Ashly doesn’t need to feel guilty anymore
Ashly is the real winner here
You can't celebrate a miracle without facing the impossible. Can't have a resurrection without first suffering the sorrow of death.
@@nairocamilo wow, I love it. Very well said
She didn't have to feel guilty from the beginning
@@timnone2924yeah but she got a lot of hate and stuff on Twitter after she “got Molly killed”
These kinds of shenanigans are exactly why she’s playing Fearne now
'Yeah he's as riveting as you all say.' TALIESIN
I need Crit Role Stats to measure how many gallons of tears were shed this episode.
Over Nien thousand.
13:04 the moment that get me the most "I fuckin love this game so much".
It's rare for Matt to be that emotional.
it would be nice to have a montage of molly with everyone, having tea and falling in-love with one of Cad's sister, sailing with Fjord and Beauregard, playing with Luke, cupcake hunting with Jester, cheering for one of Yasha's performances during Rumble in the Cusp Travel and Music festival, teleporting across wildmount with Caleb, and Xhorhause hot tub party with all of Mighty Nein.
That actually sounds so cool and such a Molly thing. Being free, hearing from them and living with all of them. Happy as always and at last.
13:34
Matt says “vines, roots and…” then you showed a picture of Ashley when he said “..Ferns” 👏👏
God, I keep rewatching these scenes and crying. I’m so fucking happy that Taliesin decided to let them have Mollymauk. Long may he fucking reign.
That nat 1, so heartbreaking
And then the grave claric cancelled it like a crit of all crits
Tal was like “am I within 30 ft?”
The Thanos snap of life.
"Just put it back, whoever it was. I think they earned it. Just put it back"
Gives me chills everytime I see that scene
I cant help but think that the four leafed clover Yasha handed over had a part in all of this, and ironic its was Caddy and The Wildmother that brought him back.
Spoiler alert:
Can we appreciate that Molly’s first action after being resurrected was just to run around naked?
taliesin really understood how molly worked
That was hilarious! I also read it in a metaphorical way; maybe this is a stretch but Molly kept running from his past (Lucien) because that scared him. Now we understand his fear. But this time, the M9 were there to call out to him, and he stopped running and went back. Because this is his past, not Lucien’s. These are his friends and he can trust them. Tal comes up with such great characters and I love how he makes them so different!
True to form 👍
On brand.
It was a burst of adrenaline. He didn't know what else.to do.
And his calm realization of reality was amazing
"There's nothing else to do?"
Catch me sobbing in the club
Dice gods: Molly stays dead!!
Caduceus: Are you really in charge here?
Taliesin proving once again that he is an ancient deity.
Caduceus: I think I can do something better
Caduceus: *Does it*
Molly was my comfort character, and left me with the influence leave a place better than you leave it to heart. Then came Caduceus and I loved him, this show is amazing.
Thank you Talison 👏👏
The choke hold this specific scene will have a hold on me when it's animated is mindblowing
Someone did one already
when i tell you i BAWLED when yasha called out to molly after he was resurrected
I honestly love what you've done here. Its more than just splitting these 2 big scenes, its 2 separate videos of good looks at each of the sides of DnD that are RP and Combat and what they can be at their best.
Me, an emotional wreck at the end of the first campaign, crying over some snowdrops: I don't know how another party can repeat this
Me watching this with tears flowing down my face: thanks for letting me know
I love that he recognised Veth, even though last he saw her she was a goblin with no self control and an alcohol problem
Man I was about to call Jester the MVP of the episode. With the killing blow on Lucian and then getting the bag of holding back, with the orb for Fjord. But then here comes Caduceus with Divine Intervention to get Molly back.
Also, if you think about it, Jester wouldn't have gotten the HDYWTDT if Cad didn't use Path of the Grave on Lucien earlier, which doubled her damage.
@@Miiharoo That and watching more highlights I learned that Caduceus brought Jester back to life during the fight as well. So Cad gets the MVP for the night, with Jester getting a close second.
@@stonecoldku4161 I'd also give MVP to Liam. His way of utilizing the mind creation of the realm IS what gave Cad chance to even attempt reviving Jester.
For me fjord comes in second or third because without that marine layer and destroying ira, jester and caduceus would be dead after they were revived
Jester: The Wild Mother really loves him...
Fjord: That's what you get for trusting a weasel
this final fight reminds me of the final fight in FMA brotherhood's father fight, which is also amazing too.
That’s all I could think of when Beau was trying to figure out how to start. I just thought of Ed in that final fight and said, “Do what he did; Fist fight a god!”
I can’t wait for Campaign 3 and what they do moving forward. I know it’ll be just as good, maybe even better.
I hope Sam plays a Cleric.
A Cleric who prepares damaging spells but never uses them, even if his healing spells have run dry
It would be a classic Sam move
I just wanna Sam to play any class but with proficiency in performance, just so he can sing again. I miss that shit, man.
Wild magic sorcerer let the prince of chaos claim his throne
I'm actually expecting Sam to roll a monk or a sorcerer.
You’re correct!
