I DID IT 😅 I MADE ONION STOCK! I started the stock in my roaster Sunday..canned it Tuesday...checked it today! 100% seal rate and head space is beautiful! (16 pints) Thank you so much Heather for the confidence you have given me. Watching your "basic" videos gave me so much needed help. I set everything up before hand like you showed us and it went smooth. Especially the second batch..after the first batch didn't blow up on me haha. Thank you again. Prayers and Love your way 🙏❤
Have a hug bag of onions know I have got to make and can me some onion stock. It looks absolutely delicious
Huge bag of onions. Canning everything, I’m a senior in Canada and things are going to get crazy here. I want to eat! As so I shall! Thank you!
Hope you’re all ok. One day at a time heather, lots of love to you all xxxxx
I bought cloth diapers and use those for straining out solids. They can be used over and over. Also the flour sack kitchen towels I purchase from Sam's. They come in a pkg of 10 and are Prewashed, Preshrunk & Lint-Free. Their 100% cotton. Hope that this helps others. The diapers are also 100% cotton and I purchased them from Walmart. Found them in the baby aisle.
That is a great idea! Thanks 😊
I use the flour sack towels also.
I was coming down here to say I use cloth diapers, too.
Question about the flour sack cloth - what is the best method to wash them in the washing machine? IE: bleach or no bleach; dryer versus hang dry, dishwasher, not washing machine, etc. I want them to last a long time, and I don't want to accidentally add unwanted chemicals (like fabric softner) to my food.
You're one of the best teachers ever. I still go back and watch your previous videos to refresh before I can. Thank you. I'm adding this to my projects for fall.
Wow, thank you!
I agree and go back to rewatch too! ❤
Your canning always looks so beautiful. The color is beautiful. You are a perfectionist. You seem to get such joy out of your canning. Your instructions are so clear. Your a good teacher.
16 pints and 7 quarts of onion stock. Thanks Heather for your video.
Hello, I really love your videos, I want to say I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your husband. My dad was taken from our family by a drunk driver. I pray for your strength which I see you have but more prayers never hurt 😃 I pray for you and your kids healing, emotionally and physically. God Bless you and your family. ❤❤
I’m thinking this will be my first adventure in pressure canning! Wish me luck!
I'm constantly learning from you all. My family loves any of the stock/broths I make. Never gave onions a thought, until your latest 3/22 video. Now I Have To make this! Thank you Heather. It's so good to see you again. Always praying for you and your children.
Binge watching and liking to help! 💪
I use the same thing sack clothes and I got them from Walmarts ...
I made this earlier in the year. I wasn't expecting much except a strong onion taste. I added it to my pinto beans... stuck it in my instant pot... MAN... THE BOOST OF FLAVOR IT GIVES THE BEAN was absolutely amazing. It made the whole difference. I saved leftover beans and stuck in fridge for refried beans another night. I'm making this every year now! I tried it in my chili... OMG the difference and it looks beautiful all clear and golden! Thanks! Finally figured out... Southern Oh... I've been pressure canning at 15 lbs of pressure when it should have been 10 all along. OOPSIE... explains the mushy stuff.
I made onion broth last weekend. It made 14 quarts. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks good and smelled good.
I ordered groceries three times yesterday. They probably think I'm crazy at Walmart. I wound up with an extra bag of onions during my shopping frenzy. Here we go
I'm saving up for a canner, I can't wait to get one and start making some delicious stocks and jams and jellies. Thank you for showing us how you do this!
Amy Lynn you can make jams and jellies with a hot water bath.
I never in a million years thought about making Onion Stock. NOW, I'm sold, I'm gonna try it. You are an excellent teacher, thank you for these videos on Onion Stock.
Blessings
Laurel 👍😁😋
i slice all my onions and put them in my slow cooker with about 1/2-1 cup water and let it go all night. It makes a lot of broth and perfect caramelized onions to which i then strain and put the onions in dehydrator. It is soooooooo good in many dishes.
I find it really easy to listening to you :D Greetings from the Netherlands,, Kitty.
This looks so good.
Sure going to make this sounds so good
Beautiful! You have inspired me!
Looks delicious 😋
Ooooooh man delicious, thank you for the great videos
Can't wait to try this!
You are just the best! Thank you so very much for showing how to do this and for all your hard work putting this video out for us!
Is it bad that I mostly want to can this for the sheer beauty of the color in the jar? I’ve made chicken vegetable bone broth after watching your videos and am addicted to that. Now it’s time to try this beauty. I look forward to cooking my rice and other things in it.
I’m praying for you and your family Heather, and pray you all have a speedy recovery, physically and emotionally. I hope you can find peace in the joy you bring to so many who follow you.
Beautiful. I’m gonna do that tomorrow.
Enjoyed this video!

Thank you so much!
Beautiful stock....
OMG I have to make this. They look so golden like honey. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing and I will be rewatching when I get my onions to do this. Thanks so much and your wonderful as a canning teacher.
Watched your videos while I was canning some chicken stock, and now I think I might have to do some onion stock next week!! Lol
I do poultry stock. I save all my chicken carcasses and my turkey carcasses from Thanksgiving and Christmas and then do a huge batch of stock after the holidays and it lasts me the entire year. I use it the same way you do, in place of water in just about everything. I was saving all of my veggie scraps and peels to add to it as well but now that I have a garden all those go in the compost bin.
I needed cheesecloth, so I used your link! What gorgeous color that stock is!
Yay! Thank you! You are going to love this cheese cloth!
This one is definitely going on my canning list for later this week! I want to can beans on Thursday or Friday, and will let the onions simmer in the background while I get that done. I bought the Fresh Tech electric water bath canner last year, so you can bet I'll be doing it the same way you did. (I love that pot!) I adore just about anything that has onions in it, so this is sure to be a hit at my house! As always, thanks Heather! ❤️
Absolutely gorgeous love your videos!
Prayers sent.
Thank you, what great color. Now I must start canning onion broth.
Wonderful video! I am so inspired to can some onion stock now. Thank you for teaching us how to do it. I am continuing to pray for you and your family. God bless you all.

Looks so good, wish I could find a pressure canner
What a thing of beauty. Such gorgeous color. Thanks for showing us how to do your onion stock. This is going to be my first food item in my new pressure canner.
You are so welcome! I am so excited for you. Happy Canning!!!!!
Beautiful stock of stock. Can't wait to add this to my pantry it'll be the 1st ever that I make.of any stock. I truly hope and pray you and your children are healing well inside and out. I think of you often waiting patiently for your return. Missouri Wrightchk
You showed how clear the liquid was, and I leaned over to smell. Lol.
I have to make this. Thank you for sharing. I'm binge watching your videos. I want to learn canning
The cooked down onions and their skins are great to recycle/add to your marrow bones that you make for homemade bone broth. I keep bags of vegetable "scraps" in my freezer to add to my bones. Lovely broth, very nicely done. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! It looks delicious and I can't wait to try it out. My pressure canner will be here on Thursday. Definitely trying this recipe first!
oh that's so exciting! happy canning, Trixie!!!!
Love your videos
Love your calm voice. Hope you and the children are doing well.🙏
I’m going to make this soon.
Heather, I have some quarts of onion stock cooling on my counter right now, and a canner full of Wilhelm's Boston style baked beans going in the canner that I made with some of the onion stock. Going to make your maple beans later tonight too I think. I've never canned beans or onion stock before, so thank you, thank you, thank you for these tutorial recipe videos!!! They are awesome, even for an old canner like me. Always new stuff to learn and try! I grew my own dried beans this year (Pinto, Cannolini and Italian Woman yellow beans) for the first time as well, so I'm very excited to learn how to can them. (I used some navy beans from the store, however, for tonight's trial run. ) Some day girl, I'd love to meet up with you in person. I bet we could get into some fun trouble. LOL!
I love that cheese cloth too! I’ve used it in my bowl for my last rise for my sour dough bread before it goes in the cast iron covered pot to bake.
I’d probably compost those spent onions. Nothing goes to waste.
just love watching you can up some liquid gold!
Beautiful stock. Mine will start tomorrow.
Nice 👍 Happy Canning! :D Love canning on a saturday!
Looks fabulous 💗💗💗👀
Thank you! 🤗
It's very pretty, it does like jars honey sitting all lined up.
I made this today and finished up the canning process. It is really liquid gold and it is so amazing. I recommend it for everybody. Thank you so much for posting this video, actually both videos. Remain blessed

I love onions. When I saw your onion broth I knew then you were my new best friend. Thanks so much for sharing. I don't have the room to can now but I will be making smaller batches and freezing for now. Thank you so much!
HAHAHAHA i love this!!!!!!
Could this be waterbath canned?
I’m so excited to try this again! It looks so yum and there’s nothing like a homemade jar of flavor in the pantry 💜 I’m the same with facing the balls forward, easier to write on!
Hope you like it!
Just discovered your channel! I want to make this. Looks delish
I just canned up 14 pints this morning..smells and looks so good, Thanks for the recipe 😁
Totally beautiful. I cant have onion but I did enjoy these 2 videos.
Glad you enjoyed! Try making it with celery and carrots instead. add the salt, peppercorns and turmeric. delish!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader That does sound really good. Once this 100 + degree heat chills out for a while, I will be doing some pressure canning. The AC struggles as it is with these temps. I've been gathering up things I want to can up and freezing what I can, till it cools off.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing this video with us. Can’t wait to make a batch. Going to wait awhile to make mine.....100 to 106 temp forecast for the next ten days. Thanks again.
holy smokes....thats too hot to can! lol
Thank you!
Many healing prayers for you and your family 🙏🙏🌻🌻❤️
Beautiful jars of gold!
