I get it. However, Coach Moore coached 5 games last year (and has been on the staff as a coach at UM for 6 years). The NCAA Offensive Line Moore award was awarded 2 years in a row to the UM offensive line and the UM's O-line Coach - Coach Moore. Blue has 2 DTs (Juniors) that are All-Americans and has transfers from Nebraska (leading tackler as a freshman) and Maryland (6 interceptions, including one against JJ). But the biggest improvement, of course, is Michigan's new Defensive Coordinator, Wink Martindale, who has thrived for decades in the NFL. Wink created the Ravens defense that spread throughout football (thimk John vs. Jim in the Super Bowl). Wink's teams are aggressive, opportunistic and, truly, downright violent parades of cutting WRs' routes, blitzing from the edge, linebacker/nickle/safety blitzes. Good luck, Sir.
Chip Kelly was 35-34 at UCLA and 6-12 against ranked teams. I for the life of me do not understand why OSU fans think he was a great hire. Of course up here in Michigan we think he was an amazing hire. I think OSU should hire all the .500 coaches they can find.
I would hope that you would be smart enough to know the difference between being a head coach and a coordinator.
As an Oregon fan I can tell you with 100% certainty that Chip Kelly has always hated recruiting, he refuses to kiss the ass of donors and generally disliked a lot of what being a head coach required. The fact he willingly took a demotion proves this.
As an OC he can focus on the X's and O's, which is what he is really good at. Not to mention, Chip has always loved to run the ball and he now has 2 amazing RBs and a good runner at QB. This OSU offensive roster is tailor made for him.
I second that, chip as a head coach vs OC is going to be night & day. All he has to do is scheme & call plays. That’s chip lane right there
Sherrone Moore was a big part of turning the program around. Our O-line sucked the first six years under Harbaugh. We couldn't get that unit to play great in big games from '15 - '20. We moved him to o-line coach in 2021 and they won 2 Joe Moore awards. Made Sherrone the OC last year and it worked out amazing. He also won some top 10 games that the outsiders are forgetting. I don't think Michigan is going undefeated again this year but I don't see a 9-3 or 8-4 drop off either. I'll go with 11-1 or 10-2 with a playoff berth.

Oregon and Ohio St are the top teams. Penn State will be the surprise team and Michigan and Washington will be in the next tier with some rebuilding going on. A lot has to do with schedule, where the tough games are played matters.

As an Oregon fan I am super stoked to see how Oregon performs on the B1G stage their first year. I think Lanning was a homerun hire and he has this team ready, the scary thing is that he is just getting started as he continues to build his team with his players. I think us Oregon fans are set for great years to come, I just hope Lanning is the one who brings Oregon its first Natty. #SCO
I think if he wins the national title or continues to be like this I think the national football League is going to take him. He has NFL mentality. I don't think he wants to be a lifer in college like Kirby Smart and some of these other coaches. Even Nick Saban went to the pros and came back and look at Jim harbaugh. He won the national championship at Michigan and now he's back in the NFL.
I got Michigan winning the Big Ten for a fourth time in a row.
I also have Michigan beating Penn State in Indy, that's the limb I'm out on

I'm calling it that ohio fans will be missing mccord by the end of the season. A transfer that was going to lose the starting job at k state behind a shaky Oline is not a recipe for success.

Agree that the roster for SC is not as depleted as the performance/ranking from last season suggests, however it is still very thin and missing a couple of difference makers on Dline and LB
Kyle McCord was a 5-star with a composite ranking of .9858 by 247 Sports. Finished last season with a QBR of 83.8, good for #7 in the country.
Will Howard was a 3-star with a composite ranking of .8622 by 247 Sports. Finished last season with a QBR of 75.1, good for 22nd in the country.
Needless to say, Howard is a MAJOR step backwards from Kyle McCord a year ago.

That’s what I’ve been saying. These OSU fans living in lala land are about to realize McCord was the best QB they would’ve had this year. Spoiled ass fan base with their last few QBs. He wasn’t a show stopper but with that first year of experience under his belt he would’ve been a top 5 QB this year imo

@cornymonkey not as much as people say. S Moore was there pre covid. He saw what the team went thru, he helped jim build the team, and he coached the 2 biggest regular season games at the end against psu and osu. That truck gonna keep a rolling. Won't be undefeated but will not be less than 8 wins either.

The O Line filling is filled with guys who have been in the system for 3 and 4 years already or were highly touted transfers. The defense has the best tandem of interior DL returning and the best CB in CFB returning. Michigan is going to be absolutely fine lmao.

12:58 USC averaged 41 points per game against teams with defenses outside of the top 50 and 28 against teams with defenses in the top 50 last year. They lost all those games. This was with having a Heisman Trophy winner and two 1000 yard receivers. They have a new coaching staff, their OL still not very good, their DL still not very good, their secondary last year was one of the worst in the country, their running game is mediocre. Going into a new conference with a new QB that is not at the same level and inexperienced receivers. Not a good look for SC. I expect 6-6 since they have 7 teams on their scheduled with defenses in the top 50 last year.

Speed in space is a gimmick and Oregon will never win a Natty as long as they run it. There’s a reason speed in space teams almost always get rocked in the playoffs when playing a more traditional style team.
They lost twice to Washington, then Washington got smothered by Michigan. They aren't ready for Big Ten defenses.
How’s Oregon gunna have the best Offense? If OSU defense is as ELITE as the players on it, then I find it hard Oregon is running or throwing much and punting more, if your talking about most punting yards then ya Oregon may have it. 😂

I'm puzzled where OSU got this amazing defense. Michigan has scored 117 points on OSU in the last 3 years. Did OSU boot everyone from their defensive unit and poach these amazing athletes from other teams? Did they find a Jeannie in a bottle that granted them a wish? Or, is it more OSU false hype? We shall see - I'm not a believer in magic bottles though so if I were an OSU fan I would temper this false optimism with a dose of reality.

@@clarencewalder2985 I watched him three different times live last year. He’s a good QB okay Strong fundamentals and a strong arm. He holds the ball too long. He has a tendency to stare down his receivers and can’t hit the intermediate timing routes with consistency.

As last year's Penn State game proved, Michigan does not need a great QB. JJ was the game manager and Michigan only ran the ball against Penn State in the second half. Not a single pass, just one sledgehammer run after run. Architect = Coach Sherrone Moore. Song? = Dancing with the Anaconda...song ended at 15-0, BTW.
Oregon will win 1-3 games between Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State.
Defense is Oregons problem.
Oregon had a top 10 defense last year. And only added more talent this year.
Dan lanning defense is elite against the run and power teams but sucks against elite passing offense teams. Just like kirby smart both of those dudes got torched against Washington, CJ strouds OSU, Alabama and 2019 LSU who had great passing attack
The B1G doesnt have an elite passing team maybe besides OSU and USC thats why Vegas is high on oregon to win it all

If the records are similar between OSU and Michigan when they play and both are locks in the Big Ten championship, expect that first game to be a battle of the trenches run heavy and not much passing
IF they rematch in BIG - look for them to move this game - this game is punishing - imagine playing - back to back - then right into playoff for loser. Last five games of year going to be incredibly punishing for MI/OSU.
12 team playoff now “survivor” - conditioning depth going to be KEY feature of Natty Winner.
OSU getting MI OR PSU IA - compared to IA/PSU getting only OSU - really a survive the season major attrition penalty.

He might hurt the team in a big game but the offense will be better overall just due to the willingness of having the QB run.

If Michigan walks into Columbus 10-1 or 9-2 with a chance to go to Indy I hope Oregon or Penn State is waiting for the winner. Nothing would be worse than Michigan beating Ohio State in Columbus and have to do all over again on a neutral field in Indy 1 week later. Would love to see them in the playoffs against each other but I'm not ready for back to back games in the rivalry a week apart.

To be fair oregon trenches are really good with cristobal and now lanning in helm. Lanning and Smart defensive schemes are meant for power run teams therefore Oregon will have huge success in B1G 10. Only high powered passing offenses are the weakness which no team in B1G has maybe besides OSU but howard is ass lol

I'm an Oregon fan and I don't see him staying that long in college if he has some good years he's gone to the NFL. He's an NFL type coach
I doubt if you'll be able to beat Ohio State and Michigan consistently and that'll drive him to the national football League
