So funny. I am Cuban and what they call the Cuban heel in the United States (as in shoes) no Cuban woman would be caught dead wearing under any circumstances. They think it's frumpy.
I remember I was making a dress for my doll. I had just finished sewing the skirt to the top when I realized that the seam was on the outside. I had no patience for seam ripping it and starting over, so I encased it in another seam. I did the French seam without knowing that was an actual technique😂 (It was a knit.)
Just in time, Laura... I'm just about to make my second garment for myself. I was a little unhappy how the seams looked on my first garment so I am going to do French seams where I can on this garment. Thank you, Pat 🐨🇦🇺
We call it a French seam in Canada and my sewing teacher *INSISTED* we learn it and my final grade was based on it! I'm so glad I learned it because when I had the chance to have my own clothes tailored bespoke, I knew what kind of seams to request. I had a silk chemise made in Vietnam in 1998 and I can honestly tell you, I only let go of that shirt in 2020, that's how long it lasted!
Thank you for this! I am making 'joey pouches' for kangaroos and other small animals rescued from the Australian fires and need to use a French Seam for them. This is what I needed to know!
I found your videos this evening and I’ve been binge watching them! You’re a fantastic tutor! Can this French seam be done on curves as well? PS. When I grow up I want my hair and my hands to be as beautiful as yours. 💕
Loving your videos Laura. Your projects are always very easy to follow. You've actually inspired me to create my own RUclips channel which I have and I'm enjoying making my own projects to help others. Hoping to be as successful as you. Lots of love from England 🥰
Your video was the best one I watched on this. You explain it very well. We travel a lot and I want to do some light weight tops. It helps pass the time. Love your videos, keep it up and happy Sewing
Thank you! Am sewing scrubs for the British health service without an overlocker. The French seam will help and your tutorial was perfect. Really easy to follow!
I’m making a pool bag using pet mesh and fabric. French seams up the side to be pretty and not to snag. Mesh is very stiff. Can you do French seams on the boxed corners as well?
@@SewVeryEasy I responded on the other reply about this link, it didn't work for me but I did not download, maybe then it would give me a print option. However I did print the original extremely large one and just used the fit to page.
Hello ! Here in France, we call it the English seam... :)

I am pretty sure that is how it was invented xD
Thank you Laura. I always look forward to your videos.
Thanks, Laura, particularly for including such clear information about the seem allowance measurements, which I was couldn't seem to find elsewhere.

Laura, did you do anything about your foundation paper for the Pineapple block and its printing?
I did put a new Link in,
Would you be able to test it out for me
@@SewVeryEasy I tried the new link but there is no print option that I can find. So not much help but I do see that it says for a 4 inch block.
