    After watching countless hours of Guthrie, this is my single favourite solo/improv. Guthrie is one, of if not the most developed musician ever. Making this recording truly special.

    What a combination of talent and Hard work, all three. Gergo wow!! The bass player, I've only seen him with another Guitar player here on RUclips. Gergo I knew from Thomas Lang classes on Drum Channel. Never seen him play a slow one before.
    I'm not leaving Guthrie out. I came for his cover of this beautiful songs and found there's another one besides the one with Billy Sheehan now.

    I think that "roasted maple" necks were invented just by observing his guitar after that unleash of notes
    He simply not just smocked, but actually roasted that neck

      It's not a competition, and, it would be a very dull world if every guitarist sounded like maestro Guthrie. Think spices, flavours, colours ;)

    Guthrie is just wrong ! Dude is off tha scale ...smh

  • @johnnylance
    @johnnylance 5 лет назад +7

    That's the problem with knowing too much about modes and scales and technique. You think you have to use everything, each time, all the time. It ends up sounding like diddly, diddly, diddly. No soul and surprisingly little imagination. Nothing can make up for a lack of imagination. That's the difference between all the Govans of the world and the one Hendrix of the world. That one all important ingredient that can't be taught or faked. Give me a Bireli Lagrene or a John Scofield any day.

      this is so wrong on so many level I don't even know where to start with

    • @johnnylance
      @johnnylance 5 лет назад +2

      @@JumpMilione126 I couldn't agree more. The young and inexperienced hear a flury of notes and think that it connotes creativity. Actually it's just a bunch of notes practiced over and over to gain fluency. Notice how his best stuff was CREATED by someone else. The best part of his solo rips off Alan and the bass solo was ripped off from Tal. All technique and no depth.
