It's clear that we can draw a direct line from his groundbreaking improvisational style to Martin, Mark and crew, and I'm certain his music will continue to influence them and countless other musicians for years to come. Can't wait to hear the results! Long live the music, spirit, and soul of Jeff Beck!
Not refuting your opinion here with mine but I felt it had to be said. Although it's a lovely version these guys have done it's a far cry from the creativity of Jeff Beck. These guys are technically very good and it's all executed and recorded very neat and tidy, a pleasure to listen to, but it's not really the raw art in the way that Jeff Beck made ;). So I think the line from Jeff Beck doesn't go to these guys per se ;).

I honestly thought the production was not at the same level as the others in Martin's series. Of course, the musicianship is stellar. All the players are magnificent. But imo, there was too much video cutting from player to player. During the solos and fills, I'd like to see the person doing those. And not from a distance. It was a bit dizzying. Its not the quality of the recording; its more an issue of the camera editing.
