A grate watch. The only Casio non connected watch with more was the GWN Q1000 Gulfmaster with the depth sensor and moon and tide. Obviously an ani-digi. Which you also did a great tutorial on. Thank you as always!

Hi again. Bought the new GW-9500-3 Mudman to compare it to my GW-9400-3 (both green). The new 9500 is indeed more readable than the old 9400 despite the duplex LCD! I have an issue however and would like to know if you or someone else could help me. Being in a place without radio connection I mostly rely on manually correcting the time. Now, over the years I have observed something I haven't read about anywhere: The speed of an individual watch seems to vary! E.g. the 9400 I have has been fast about 2 secs per month after the last atomic correction by radio 6 months ago, now I manually set it, and it will be around 1 sec slow per month. That is not the only G-Shock I have observed behaving like this, temperature seems not the cause. Now my question is, what could cause it? Is it the length of pressing the button that resets the seconds? Wasn't able to really confirm that either so far. Or is it just randomly picking a speed after a setting? So far, I can't think of anything. Do you or anyone else have a clue about what's going on? It would also help me decide which of the two watches I will keep (the 9500 going even a little slower still after several attempts). Thank you for your videos and all the best!
The "speed" you are reffering to is accuracy which for quartz watches is within a second a day, so it is normal and random from watch to watch. You cannot "correct" it as it depends on many variables including the quartz crystal itself. Some watches have a "trimmer" screw inside the module that allows you to indeed "slow it down" or "make it faster" but I doubt current GShocks have it
@@WatchGeek After some more thinking I would like to come back though to my experiences. What your answer does not explain is the CONSISTENCY of the 2 sec fast per month accuracy vs. the now lagging behind after setting it for the first time after those 6 months. My conclusion is no other than while setting the watch, I must have changed the accuracy somehow. Have you noticed that in any way as well, too? I have several years of experimenting with other GW-9400 copies that behaved similarly to back it up. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you again.

Unlike the past, JDM no longer means that it must also be made in Japan. Nowadays it simply means made to be sold in Japan domestic market only.

You could easily keep the watch if you adjusted your logo to two tones of yellow 😉 Anyway I just got the watch myself and because it is so good I lost interest to buy any other gshock I had on my "watch" list before.
What "bugs" me and hence prevented me for buying this watch model, is that I find those digits way to tilted like on the G-9100 Gulfman, which I sold for the same reason. I simply don' t like the way those numbers look like and they look awkward. The closest thing to "perfection" is my GD 100, and if it had had ABC functions, it could have been for me the best Casio G-Shock ever made, but somehow Casio keeps avoiding to make the watch I want. And as soon as they start replacing their entire line with that new "special" bio resin stuff, I'm done with Casio!
