- Ukraine has received at least some of the 90 Stryker armored personnel carriers and 37 Cougar Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles promised by the U.S., as well as at least some of the 14 Challenger 2 tanks promised by the U.K. and the 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles promised by Germany, which has also sent Ukraine 18 Leopard 2 tanks.

Both Ukrainian and Russian Telegram channels occasionally post photos of prisoners they recently took. I advise anyone to take a look at these. Ukrainian soldiers look like soldiers in a tough and bitter war do look. Russian soldiers mostly look like what you find under the cardbord boxes below a bridge near a port industrial district in the early hours of a cold and miserable Sunday morning. Half a year ago, all of them were thriving human beings.
These are not people who have any business being in a war. They should be at home, with their families. But Putin wants them to die, and die they do.
Even if Putin would win militarily (fat chance if he continues to stockpile ballistic missiles for half a year, to waste them against cities with no military significance), Russia will be a broken country, with hordes of crippled and traumatized vets and no money to give them adequate care, and the worst sort of criminals - people who literally get a kick from eating children - one can imagine running free by the thousands.
And the ultimate irony is that if Putin simply had stayed put, he would now safely control Donbass, and Crimea, nd both of which would be thriving industrial powerhouses, and few people in Ukraine would want to join NATO - and might even have elected a pro-Russian politician again for a change -, and the Russian military would still be the second-best army in the world instead of the second-best army in Ukraine, and the Black Sea Fleet would be stronger than it ever was since 1941, and countries would be queuing up to buy Russian gas and oil, and Russia would have a nice budget surplus and increasing wealth and quality of living, and probably even have resolved most of the pre-2022 sanctions, besides being the dominant outside power in almost all of Africa and most of Latin America, and having sh*tloads of funds to fund dissidents all across the EU at his leisure.
In short, NOT invading would by now have led to results for Putin that cannot be expressed in any other term than "triumphal".
And on top of all that a real possibility of the US getting stuck in its own domestic quagmire (Putin's invasion enforced some degree of constructive bipartisanship, rather than GOP and Dems trying to scratch each others' eyes out all the time), and Russia thus becoming THE dominant world power in the medium term.
But Putin is a deeply insecure man with a severe inferiority complex, and he is getting old and decrepit - not so likely he'll be still alive in 10 years, or at least "alive" in a way that's *not* like Chernenko in '84 -, and thus he could not resist "touching a running system" that was running in his favor.
The last time history has seen a commander with Putin's military-political aptitude was in Roman Syria, in the year 701 A.U.C..
That being said, I cannot help but wonder if the standards of comparison of a guy named "ayubshaikh" is the outstanding performance of the Egyptian Army in its glorious conquest of Sinai, and on to Jerusalem...
Whatever happens in this war, Putin will die or become incapacitated in the next 5-15 years, and at that point the Russian Federation will simply implode and probably fragment; it is only Putin as a living and acting individual that holds this federation together.
And history will only know him as a rank imbecile who could not leave well enough alone, and thus brought down his own empire.
I only grieve for anyone who was forced to a premature death as fuel for those fever dreams of one very stupid old man. Frankly, there should be a global consensus that people like Putin are exempt from human rights, that anyone can set up a microdonation bounty on their heads. As the Soviet Ukrainian Heroine Lyudmila Pavlichenko supposedly put it: "by sniping fascists, I am saving lives".

Canada sent 10 Leopard 2A6. I don't see them accounted for here, however saw video of them arriving in a Canadian forces transport aircraft into Poland. Some of them were the first to arrive.

Some of those vehicles looked like old M113's. About the only thing they're good for as delivering supplies and troops, unless retrofitted with modern day missile systems or recoilless rifles.
As far I can see in this conflict they are mainly being used as Casevac and armored supply vehicles. Havn't seen any footage or read any material of them being used on the frontline.
That being said it is still an armored box that can ferry troops from A to B, so it is still better then not having anything at all.

Welp, now to see if Ukraine is really able to launch an offensive.
Already successfully launched 2 offensives and easily forced Russia out of large parts of Ukraine,, and that was without this equipment.
But Ukraine still had sufficient ammunition back then. Russia has also made its army much stronger and in the 5 months since Kherson fell.
They might start there offensives, but if they fail which will likely be the case, then we might see the end of Ukraine armed forces.
Can't see them recreating armies with the equipment they got now once again.
Guess we have to see and wait.

yes, but both machines will struggle in the mud, which will be a great test for both tanks, but tbf I'd probably want to be in a challanger 2 as it has far superior armour

Ukraine learned the hard way that NATO gear is not inherently superior to Soviet gear. They don't even put Leopard 1 at the frontline anymore if they can avoid it, because they're so fragile. But they found out they're so fast and have such superior imagign electronics to make excellent recce/scout vehicles.
Meanwhile, the post-Soviet Russian gear continues to suck shit. The Armata is apparently so crappy that it is unfit for combat.

no, there are not 150 Leo 2 promised, you mix up Leo 1A5, Leo 2A4 and Leo 2A6. There are huge differences between them.
At least, the old Leo 1A5 can already shoot while driving, while T72 must stand still to aim and shoot.
Leo 1 is protected poorly and has a small british cannon. But with the right tactics it should be effective.

In the beginning, Ukraine had 400,000 man army, with 200,000 reserves. Those forces have been destroyed, and rebuilt 3 times now. Now Ukraine is rounding people up and forcefully conscripting them into the military, sort of like Russia in ww2, only without the help of the NKVD. I hate these Russians but unfortunately the Western powers are just too decadent to stand up to Russia, they are just a bunch of flop house, useless socialist with declining populations, and Putin knows it.

I am from Czech Republic and I would love to tell to Stoltenberg: The coup in Ukraine was irresponsible abd Non-democratic. Irresponsible move was, when Ukraine started killing Russian language speakers back in 2014. Enlarging NATO was also irresponsible(it was promissed, NATO would not enlarge)... Talking about crumbling up Russia and about regime change in Russia was very ,very irresponsible. Sanctionning Russia was irresponsible move too, even if you imagine it harmed E.U. citizens much, much more than Russians... Changing E.U. in to military organization is very dangerous and irresponsible move ! Russia reacted , because Russia was provoked many, many times irresponsibly by people like you Mr. Stoltenberg !!!!
