I grew up with the 2003 tmnt series, which was one of the reasons I loved my childhood. Michaelangelo was my favorite turtle because he always made me laugh whenever he talked.
Loved that show too I remember having the Secret of The Ooze Turtule movie. When they had a turtule series in 2003 I was very exited. I remeber thinking "This is awesome". It turned out to be a great series. Shredder was boss and had an eliete crime systerm. His fighting force was composed of Nijas, eleite wepons, gangs, mutans, ect. His house was awesome as well. So much TMNT universe in it too. I heard it was real close to the original comics and they made a lot of tributes to them. It got kinda bad in Fast Foward. Mostly caused because the original series' episodes were getting "too dark" according to the guys running the channel from which it was aired. So they introduces a more silier show(Fast Foward). Thier was even an episode from the original seies that was never created because it was too dark. It involved the revelation that Hun and the trash collector were twins. The trash collector was trown away in a dumpster as a infant child while Hun lived a normal life. The Baxter Stockman zombie episode was never released on air too. Great show.
***** it's not as favorable t classic fans, no matter how much better than the current run or the classic run, I actually enjoyed it as the imagery was darker. Still no killing like in their first issues either though.
I'd love to see just one live action rendition of that initial comic run, where leo actually kills shredder. All the turtles were just more grim and it added so much to the parody of all the 80's anti-hero norm. Don't get me wrong I grew up on the kowabungas and pizza but I would love to see it, just once.
AVC2000 because the 2003 series wasnt a decade long run that spawned three box office hit movies ( well two, the third one had moderate success, not a complete failure nor a blockbuster). 1994-1996 season 8-10 the show lost its appeal with the theme song being re written, the art design changed, and villians such as Shredder, Krang, bebop, and rocksteady were phased out of the show. However seasons 1-7 were rerun from Nov 1993- till sep 1996 which kept the show popular while season 8-10 ruined its reputation. Also all the best tmnt video games were released during this time. Nothing tops TMNT 2: The Arcade Game or TMNT IV: Turtles In Time. The Manhattan Project as well as the SNES version of Tournament Fighters are better than anything released from later series. The original cartoon series had a run from Sep 1987 to August 1997 one month shy of a full decade.from 88 till roughly 94 it was called TurtleMania the 2003 show though i hear many talk glowingly of it never Has or will reach the kind of popularity as the original series. Even though the comics came first most people wouldn't even know they exist if it was not for the original show.
I love this show and the host as well. I think they do a really good show presenting us with everything we love about comic books... Keep up the good work Arris Quinones
I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or simply the TMNT, including the members, Leonardo the Leader, Raphael the Muscles, Donatello the Brains and Michelangelo the Wild One alongside their allies in New York City and they one of my favorite known mutant characters appeared in their own solo comics, even though they're not own by Marvel or DC Comics, much like Hellboy. I like the TMNT and they are awesome!!😎
Wasn't that much later they did color, they were recolored back in the 80's. Can't mention everything, but at least something from each time Turtles changed publishers... I mean Mirage, Archie, Image, IDW.
I do like the thought that maybe reason Raphael chose the Sai was to spite Leonardo. If you think about it. Leo choses the sword so raph gets the weapon to stop and control them. Essentially a foil.

It seems like since most people know the turtles from the 80's cartoon, they're recognized as kids' characters. Is it true that the comics are actually kind of gritty and violent? Personally, I love seeing the darker side of things
Man, as a kid growing up in the late 80s and early 90s, EVERYTHING i had had the Ninja turtles on them. School bags, bed sheets, shampoo, undies and I had all the toys and would just live and breath the turtles. Over the years i've seen so many incarnations of the turtles and went back to read the older comics too, and though i love the new Nick series, I really the origin story from the 80s cartoon show. Where it was Yoshi who becomes Splinter.
I still have the original figures of the first line, loved the cartoon, and the comic, and comics that came after the cartoon.. my mind blew up with the first film, and that one still holds up today, i keep rewatching the first two movies from time to time. they're great.. not to keen on the upcoming M-Bay monsterosity though.. think i'm missing that p.o.s

Well, the original Robin is what most people would answer if you asked that question. But I do agree he was abit campy, and TBH I like Batman more when he works alone. IMO the best sidekick would be Harley Quinn. But Arthur from New England Comics was also pretty cool, so maybe I'd put The Tick and Arthur at second place.

If you need a quick review from a regular person, it was a lot of fun. Rocket and Drax will steal the movie. Chris Pratt was great and Groot had his touching and funny moments. I thought it was great, 3rd best Marvel movie after The Avengers and Cap 2

The 2003 turtles was the best turtles TV-show in my opinion. Also Turtles Forever is a highly recommended animated special that any turtles fan should watch.
"Four turtles, four brothers. Genetically reborn in the sewers of New York City. Agreed
You should read the notes Peter Laird wrote for 4Kids during that run. Heck, go read his TMNT blog altogether: peterlairdstmntblog.blogspot.com
The second animated series was great I mean both the Shredder and the Ancient Shredder were terrifying.

The Turtles really need a darker film adaptation. Like a Dark Knight style or like the Crow.
The 2014 is a little dark and on RUclips is some movies about the 2003 episodes.
Nope , dark and grimy is boring..

what about their longest running series from 2003 to 2009
+Myke-PS4,Minecraft&More best series
Well actually the 80s cartoon was the longest running. But the 2003 cartoon was indeed the best one so far!
+WWEfan6100 NOT TRUE the 2003 Cartoon kinda sucked it made no sense what so ever and that's that
Charles Rubitschung how did it make no sense?
It had a Shredder that was an Oobtrom (Brain In Belly) that's how it made no sense thanks for asking

Excellent history on the Turtles, Variant.
I think the turtle's original origin (from the comics) is closely followed by the 2003 series.
I'd love a history of Martian Manhunter episode! He's one of my favorite characters from the Justice League show.
Very good breakdown of the TMNT history! I have some of the original issues, which were re-colored.
i'd love to find out who is the greatest sidekick in comics and it doesn't matter good or bad.
The original Robin is often considered the greatest sidekick in comics.
But that's really all about opinion.
Bartman Simpson IDK he was a little campy, maybe War Machine or Rick Jones or even Vegeta or Bulma.
Well, the original Robin is what most people would answer if you asked that question.
