Primary potentiometer resistance value selection of replacement parts, tracks & wipers is best if it's larger resistance to the factory selected part so you can shrink the circularity & slide 🎚️🎛️ the deadspot 🎯 position about as needed with scope to offset from original parts resting reported centre, as you can imagine the PCB is probably calibrated to the stick pot they fit as you can't guarantee mechanically cloned parts for tolerance values & resting position 😉👍🏼. Smaller resistance than the original will often shrink the circularity under the full 💯% range 🙅🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🙍🏼♂️. Added Trim pots reduce resistance as so. Minimum response curve shrink 👉🏼 1M, 500, 200, 100, 50, 30 & 20K 👈🏼 maximum 3x3mm trim pots are the values I've ever used. Twining them can double the parts resistance selection range & help calibrate troubleshooting odd results or tight resistance original pots you dont have much overhead play room on. Example 1M + 1M will shrink the circle about 0.7-8% in max longest current flow position based on my single fit 1M study that shrinks it about 1.4-5%. I couldn't be fecked to study it all across the range for a bibble 📜 best practice guide table 😱, that's to much even for me to care lol. Generally 1m/1m split to 200k trim pots work best on original pots. 200k to 20/20 split on high resistance primary pots. Is there more or less place for recalibration of its slightly over 10k ohm or slightly under? What is the best?
