    A worthy upgrade. The stock/Rockauto masters are constantly going out (usually showing up as a leak down the inside of the firewall by the clutch pedal). I have an '87 YJ that could use this master. Good job, Sir!

      Thank you! It’s still holding up great. I don’t regret doing this upgrade and when I found out about it I had to film it.

    Thanks man! I also have same exact ba10 problem as the guy in forums that came up with, and described this upgrade from crappy chinese double cup seal master. A bit different symptoms than yours. Glad it improved yours, but sounds like you have some syncro issues in your old ba10. Mine works great until Jeep is driven for about half hour or so, then 1st and 2nd become hard to get into. Hoping this is good and solid fix for my issue, like it was for original forum poster. Anyway...just wanted to say well done, and thanks for putting together a visual version of this process, makes it very nice to see the upgrade performed in the real world as well. Thumbs up, and subscribed! D

      No problem! That’s why I made this video to help out others that have the same or similar issues. This mod still works great and I haven’t had any issues besides my usual synchro issue. I think it’s well worth the effort because the master cylinder can be used with the ax15 when ungraded.

    I know advance adapters sold a ax15 kit to swap the transfer case and all to an ax15 transmission. I had to watch this video again. I'm going to copy your parts list and perform this swap before doing an ax15 swap . If you have concerns about your hard brake lines .I would install new copper /nickel lines . The info on the videos is appreciated.

      This mod is still holding up great! No issues so far and most importantly no leaks. I’m saving up for the swap but for I’ll try and make this one tranny last as long as I can

      Sure thing! I wanted to make the video and help other YJ owner fix this issue. Since I released the video I have yet to experience any issue with this upgrade.

      Sure thing! So far my clutch has been working great since I did this mod. I waited about a month to upload this video just incase I’d have an issue but I have none.

    A month later … still driving good? The 2nd gear issue pop up again?

    • @secondhandspeed

      My 2nd gear synchro is just worn out so the issue is present when the tranny is cold. When cold I skip 2nd and go into third. Once warmed up I’m able to double clutch into 2nd gear. Before this mod I wasn’t able to double clutch but now it works great

    How do you identify your transmission?

    There is absolutely zero reason to double clutch a synchronized transmission.

    • @secondhandspeed
      @secondhandspeed  Год назад +1

      There is in this case with mine. If I don’t double clutch into 2nd I’ll grind 100%. Once I warmed up the tranny no grinding into 2nd when double clutch. It’s just my synchro is worn out
