i can confirm that you CAN get the nickname "The Great" in a random chance. I was playing vanilla ck3 as Navarra and conquered most of Iberia and got the nickname. It was super fitting given the context. This is the only time ive seen the nickname randomly in 2300 hours tho
from mod
@@user-gw2uq4fr8p i had no mods active. not a single one
That sounds about right. I've had it twice, as random chance, in 4000 hours.
I’m starting as a vassal trying to conquer Iberia it’s one of my most challenging gameplay
@@codytb127why u don’t use mods ?
My favorite is probably “The Lawgiver”, which is gained from forming Naples…
Oooo has a nice ring to it
@@Soul_Tomatothere is even a better one, if you do this desicion while being holy roman emperor too, you get "stupor mundi" wich means wonder of the world in latin
Suleiman the magnificient on his way to form naples
@@felixfire6583 How was I unaware of this as an enjoyer of Naples?? Well thanks for letting me know lol, Tbf I don’t play as the HRE much at all anymore…
I like how I got a "repulsive" nickname but when my reign was prosperus and I was beloved my nickname changed to "the Good"
That is pretty cool tbh
I love that nicknames can actually change in this game. It's so nice.
As a biased Swede the best epithet by far is ”Bane of the Dane” Which is one of several you can gain from winning versus 10 viking invasions
Ursäkta för min dåliga svenska men det är coolt.
I know it's from the Extended Nicknames mod, but "the Lord of Crows" was always a fun nickname to get personally.
That’s a good one
You should do a series about nicknames provided by specific mods, like unique ones in Godherja and after the end
While playing Realms in Exile I had a character with a nickname, forgot what it was, and my very next character had that same nickname. Is that common for hobbits?
The Axe that Walks from Realms in Exile is the best one tbh
AGOT has some goated nicknames like my last character was the spear of the hightower
@@mementomori771 I don’t do anything related to that man.
@@Soul_Tomatoyoo! I noticed he tends to move to Moria, very cool. Sucks his bloodline normally dies out with his son.
In my current CKIII game, I played as Alfred Wessex, united the Empire of Brittania, got 'The Great' as the nickname, married my only daughter to the king of france's second son, killed the heir, they had a son, that child died after having a child, named Jafure (or Geoffrey) Jafure inherited both the kingdom of France and Aquitane, but the Empire of Brittania, all while being 0 years old. After he defeated a revolt at the age of 4, he conquered Germany at 18, conquered Lotharingia at 19, conquered Italy at around 25, and formed the HRE at 30-something. He then united the French and English cultures (because he was originally French I had the option to make English) and created the Angevin culture, renamed his empire to the Holy Angevin Empire, (HAE) and died peacefully at the age of 79
That’s a brilliant run
@@Soul_Tomato I haven't told you all of it...
that was just the first two characters
nicknamed "ThE gArLiC kInG".
Nicknames are easily one of my most favorite things about Crusader Kings since I love the stories it tells. The best example of this is my Atomocist ATE run.
I did a Kaiser start in Arizona and made a custom NPC to adopt. William Kaiser united Arizona but did not receive a nickname but his son, Lanius, did.
Lanius the Conqueror united the 4 corners, wiped out the treacherous aliens and Mormons, created the Legionary culture, and Legion of Atomos faith before dying at the age of 71.
His son’s birth name has been lost to time but his title is well known: Atomos the Great, Messiah of the Legion and Conqueror of California. The Great randomly rolling fit my RP so much since Atomos proclaimed that until he could be equal to his father, he would be masked, and he took of his mask in the Imperial Palace of Sacramento. It was a great ending to the run.
A great story. Excellent RP
You can also get The great by forming greater Armenia
I've once seen a guy called "the child killer". Yep
Says all you need to know
Comes from a royal court event
He just like me fr fr
The Troll-Slayer should have another requirement for killing a Dwarf in a duel to the death
Amazing
I wish you could be called 'The Great' after you do something significant fast, maybe form an empire in less than 5 years and then hold it for 10?
That would be cool
I was called "The Great" for usurping my king in Spain and taking all other Christian lands in the peninsula, and holding off Andalusian invasions for like 20 years.
Mine was lord of crows or something against that line? Played an awesome character who united the middle east and formed the empire of Arabia and conquered Constantinople yet my biggest achievement was befriending some crows who made my look intimidating and gave me a bonus in intrigue if remember correctly
I was playing some modded CK3 and I got "The Hairy"
Must’ve been a hairy lad
I've just started getting into CK3 along with the GoT and Godherja mods and your videos have been perfect for what I've wanted to see! I've been a big fan of the Godherja lore videos especially. Just wanted to let you know that some people out here fit your exact niche and we appreciate all the work!
Thank you my friend :)
Love how you went straight to the point with this video
I try
using the legend seed mechanic I got “Dragon Slayer” as my title, and that was cool
Very fun video. I hope you do more like these!
I’ll try :)
I've seen a woman with the title berserker!
I watch a Swedish RUclipsr, who likes his Vikings.
He played an east coast Lord, who didn't do much in his lifetime, his only "accomplishment" was having two kids: a son (the next ruler) and a daughter with a high martial for a kid (planned to make her a war-maiden).
After the son took over he started conquering some weaker lords and after he doubled his land the training of his sister was finished.
She was now his best warrior and had her lead every combat, shortly she gained the berserker trait and dismantled armies on her own.
It took some years until she was called 'the berserker' that she had two combats with her new title! She shortly afterwards retired and married a powerful warrior outside her realm, in fact he started to outshine the accomplishments of his wife and was "the new berserker" in only three years!
I don't know what their four children would accomplish in the future as the game was over, with their daughter married-off to some guy in Russia and the three sons were given Finland for the honourable deeds of their parents!
PS I've mistakenly written Sweden again instead of Finland
The undying is a cool one, you have to survive a lot of adversities to health. "This one should have been ailing by all means but is living and thriving instead" (something like that)
I had William the Conqueror change to the Garlic King in one playthrough. I was not impressed.
The devourer is also a really cool one, your court chaplain has to be a cannibal (with you) and you have to have devoted servant
if you're including ones from forming nations I gotta mention "the great and terrible" for forming mann and the isles and "stupor mundi" (the awe of the world) for taking the sicilian parliament decision as holy roman emperor
Besides the cannibal and dragon there's a third cannibal-related one: the devourer, related to the faith cannibalism decision, which is kinda hard to get because you gotta not only be a cannibal yourself but also have a cannibal realm priest, while being from a non-cannibal faith
there's several you can get if you beat multiple viking invasions like the burner of ash, the bane of danes and the scourge of the northerners
During a normandy playthrough starting from 867, I got called the bear due to my high prowess
I’ve gotten a few different animals real or mythical. The wolf, the lion, the griffin.
I’ve only achieved the Blood Father but that was with some carefully selected inbreeding
Ah the classic CK player ace in the hole
I think inbreeding is the easiest way to get that decision. I mean they no longer allow us to marry commoners.
I got "The Great" nickname after founding the empire of russia (renamed kievan rus) with rurikid dynasty. So epic
You talked about “the Shield of [capital]” but there is also “the Spear of [capital]”. I’ve gotten each before, but not sure on specific requirements
CK2 had some great ones. Like 'slayer of (country name)'. I got that after wiping Khazaria off the map as the Cumins.
Oh that’s a dope one
Tanglehair to Fairhair transition is the best nickname related thing to happen in the game. That's why forming Norway is a must whenever I play as Haraldr.
My boy be going places but he needs some haircut first.
He just like me fr (needing a haircut)
My favourite is the undefeated - Win 100 battles with yourself commanding an army without ever losing.
That’s CRAZY. 100 battles in one lifetime alone would be a feat
@@Soul_Tomato Yeah I was really surprised when that one happened to me, I was not expecting that to be my 100th. It is made easier if you lead a lot of raids and seek battles.
I would be just playing then get nickname "The Lion-Heart" and in my next life would get "The Wolf". Safe to say, my favorite campaign up to date.
Btw im pretty sure the basque have a unique title called "The Mountain King" which to me may very well be the most badass sounding title in the whole game.
That is unnecessarily badass tbh
My favorite nickname by far is "The Brilliant". Not entirely sure what the requirements are, but all I know is that my character had high learning(60). Not the coolest, but still neat.
Justiciar would be a cool one maybe its in the extended nickname mod
Ahhhh that is a good one
Judgeez nuts.
Classic
Most monarch nicknames: "The Wise", "The Great" , "Lionheart"
One of my monarchs: *DIAVOLO "THE CHILD KILLER" MILLER*
You can get the great forming the HRE
cool indeed
The Dragon-Slayer
My favourite is the Undefeated
It's 1 am now you just made me reinstall ck3 and make the nation of Isreal
You’re welcome and L’chaim
I got the nickname the "the dirty"
Hud "the dirty" Ensari
Cool
Thanks!
I love "The Black"
How about "The Undefeated"? I know it's magbe a more common one amidst you all warlords :) but I like it anyways
A good one!
Is it true that "The Griffin" increases if the character is named Peter?
I really hope so haha
I got “the priest-hater” nickname💀💀💀💀💀
If I create Portugal but destroy the kingdom 5 years down the line do I still get called the great?
yes
Yeah I doubt they redact it haha
I’ll kiss you for making this vid
Ty
How to get rid of end game lag
in CK3? I've never played that far
I got the great as Alfred of Wessex after taking the throne of Wessex
Hmmm seems unrealistic
@@Soul_Tomato Alfred becoming "The Great" is scripted, for historical accuracy. Even AI gets it 99.9% of the time.
@@calltheshotten1002 I know I was messing with you
@@Soul_Tomato Oh lol, I can't read sarcasm for whatever reason.
I wonder if there is „the alright” as a joke.
“The not so bad”
How come some of your videos your mic quality is great but then sometimes its awful?
Honestly not sure. Depending on the video I had a span of about 2 months where I tried to use a new mic but was horrible and had gotten rid of my old one. So could be from that.
@@Soul_Tomato well it's horrible in this video compared to even some recent videos lmao. I don't mean this in a hateful way, I very much enjoy your content
@@Deabsy nah it's all good
I got the great by forming greater armenia
i got the rizzler from having too much rizz how I conquered all the gyatts in ohio
Based
But real talk how do you get chubbycheeks.
No idea
I got the bald, not sure how
it doesn't usually mean you're bald
