I've been playing with the MO6 for three years, and the XF is way over my head. I'm just figuring out the sequencer, mixer, storage, etc. Having a lot of fun though and creating some really great riffs. I was lucky to find a used XS6, not a scratch on it, for $1200, so I guess I'll be busy figuring that workstation out for the next 3 years. Bert must be a genius. he makes the other demo men look pale.
i have always played yamaha keyboards and i hope to try this one when it hits the states. going by this vid it sounds decent but as most people know youtube audio isnt the best. the flash rom is slow to load the sounds or third party libraries though. they need to change that. i most likely wont use that too much. real time control over the sounds is whats important to me in sequence mode. at least its black. grey & silver is weak
the xf 6. i was on the phone with yamaha the other day and the tech i spoke to told me i cant use my patterns from the es on the xf. that wont put me off though.
......... is the sound of the motif xf S6 patch that lousy?.... perhaps the sound Q of this recording ain't good but i have to say that the S6 patch sounds beasty on the s90xs
My Motif ES is spoilt by it's slow response - no good for true virtuoso playing (or is it that most of the samples have a tiny bit of silence at the beginning?) I wonder if this is any better...
I'm sorry but look, playability, customization and sample data are all going to the Kronos. I don't doubt that the Motif's are good but Korg have really got it down better.
Personally, I wouldn't want one of these. It's too complicated. I would like to see a sampler with a great sound and simple parameters, with similar functionality to things made in the 80s. Not made to be a substitute studio. Just my preference.
There isnt anyone better than Bert, This guy is the best rep that any company could ever find, I love his energy !

@fourztringz yes it does....... the s90es is the one with s700 (which is a great patch)... the s90xs has the S6 instead...
