This is so sad to hear. I’ve personally been on this tiki three or four times. Really hope they can get some help getting back up and running. So relieved to know no one in the family or crew were hurt! I’ll be contacting them to see if my husband and I can do anything to help. ❤🇯🇲
Let us be clear here - thanks for the comments that are encouraging and caring. We don’t need the bashing people. We simply are trying to make light, that seemed to be dismissed from the start, that WE almost lost our lives along with 3 other crew members this day as our crew was out there in the shooting AND our boat was completely destroyed by gunfire. The criminals used our boat as a guard to hide under as police shot them. While we are happy the criminals were neutralized and no innocent hurt ,it was at our business expense financially mentally physically and emotionally. We have insurance. And it doesn’t cover in this situation. Why all the hate? All because we want to share our story when it was first reported there was no injuries or damage and that is just simply not the case which is why we shared our story and why TVJ came to interview us. TVJ wanted to share how much money we lost in result of this. That’s all we are doing why the hate when we are simply asking for the right thing to done. This could have been any boat operator big or small that day as we all utilize that pier to load supplies. Hope none of you all have to ever be in this situation and get bashed and kicked while down all for sharing your story
It’s awful the lack of compassion that some have shown you . Even on Tripadvisor there was some negative people. You are a local business , doing well, now impacted by this incident. The police department should provide compensation for your damages. I hope you get a resolve to this and pay no mind to the keyboard warriors .
Insurance company???? dem would never get that back.... By time them claim and insurance investigation done, bout 5 years pass... Insurance don't necessarily pay for things like these unless it was included in the original policy... If car accident take months to settle why do you think this will anytime soon?

This is a shame that these people are running a risky business and have no business insurance. Why the hell don't you take out insurance on your boat? You are at risk of serving guest on your boat, hence insurance coverage is a must.
Of course we have insurance. We are licensed with the tourist board and have been operating since 2018 however because tourists not on the boat during this conflict the insurance won’t cover. Please people stop the bashing - we are simply making light of how our business was shut down because of this police shootout. And our 4 crew nearly lost their lives as well including the owner.
