I know he's probably talking about the label tape and not the device itself, but a P-Touch is not $25 and if you see somewhere selling it for such it is a scam.

Really depends where you look just bought one on eBay for £16 and it’s perfectly fine

Pro tip from an office supply buyer; eBay for the tape. Yup, much cheaper and never got a bad tape. Used P touch machines are probably fine too.
