Very good insight on what you are doing on job. More in this series would be much appreciated. The broll of what is going on, on set is really nice to have so it isn't just you talking without any reference as to what youbare talking about.
Keep the dad jokes coming :) Super insightful, especially knowing rough rates as I'm hiring an assistant for a shoot in 2 weeks. Nothing to your level, but good to know the cost we agrees is normal. 2nd AC and / or production cart would be cool to see. Hope your enjoying the cooler weather in Vienna at the moment!
why there is not two different operator in camera team, one touch the camera and second who only focus focus puller work. Because if you 1 camera assist do both work it takes time to training in focus puller work.
I’m confused I see you have a dji receiver on the atomos sumo but Dji doesn’t sell a receiver since it’s built into the monitor is that another transmitter on the Sumo?
Also, a question for you. In Vienna and Austria in general, are all the sets you work on German speaking? I'm English, I've been living in Vienna for a couple of years now. Working self-employed as a photographer, videographer. I would love to start working on some bigger sets, at the bottom, as a pa as you mentioned. But my German is only basic, wondering if there are any situations where native English would be an advantage.
in my experience, most sets in Vienna are german only. My own sets are usually English only though. I plan on doing a lot more bigger set stuff for youtube. Short films, spec commercials etc.. Hit me up on Instagram, maybe you want to be part of that too
Thank you for the info! I’ve never rented gear before… I’m thinking it would be a good idea to rent so I get a feel of lead time etc. have you ever had any bad experiences while renting?
well, I personally rarely rent gear as I have almost everything myself. But renting stuff to test out for personal projects is a good idea. Never had any bad experiences and most rental houses are really flexible and sometimes you can get the equipment for an entire long weekend paying only for one day!
What position should I cover next?
Colorist
Dp !
@@davidschwan oh, colorist I didn't even think about. Good one. But I would have to find one as I'm not qualified to make that video :D
@@Adrilevy27 definitely planned
Maybe do a bit more in depth on Focus Pulling?
