- This is how I deal with most liquid damage I've had before. It's not "the best" way to deal with liquid damage but I've found it works fine for my needs. If you get onto it quickly, this method usually produces some great results.

hello i love your channel btw
@Arsenal fan Hello 👋 thanks heaps champion!
@@TinkerManMick very interesting video
Do you know how to fix a bug where the mic and controller keep disconnecting and reconnecting
@@TinkerManMick I'm in SA (Australia) Your Series X fan video made me chuckle. I've had one since May 2022 and it runs 8 hours every day as a Beta tester for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. The most power I have seen it draw from the wall is 180 watts in SU 10 which reduced to 170 watts in SU 11 and now in SU 12 Beta it's max is 160 watts. From it's 315 watt PSU I don't have any issues. My home is climate controlled so the living room I use it in never exceeds 24C. As such the top vent is always 45C at the max. It's totally silent as well. Just thought I'd give you some feedback. I'd have no doubt that some people would be sitting in living rooms that are in the 30C+ range so I'd imagine that might add some thermal load and in some places the room could even be 35C ambient which is REALLY hard to believe but not everyone can be a rockstar like me! Cheers cobber.
Can we just appreciate how this man's a gigachad for intentionally pouring out water even if it hurts internally then proceeds to record how to fix it just for us
🤣 thanks champion!

note that if the black bit of the rubber pads look textured that is actually oxidation and cleaning that bit with ipa will actually improve connectivity with the gold contacts
💯
Forgot what type of bug, but we had had thousands of them in our rice. This video reminded me that so now you know.
Congratulations 🎄 Buddy😊

You can’t use rice to fix liquid damage, you use rice to remove liquid
Oh jeez me trying to rebuild the controller would be a bigger mess than the water damage
"Accidentally spilt liquid"
I wouldnt specifically say "use rice to dry out electronics from a liquid damage" because sometimes there still can be some liquid in the electronic plaaes where either you cant reach or you cant even see
I would rather sink the electronic in Isopropyl alcohol and then i would wipe it with a towel or a paper towel and then i would make it get clean air for few days With the batteries removed ofcourse
I did that and the grips wiped off. Still worked though, would rather have a working grip less controller than a broken one.
Rice just makes a mess and doesn’t fix anything, thanks for the video!

Cute budgie/parakeet sounds!
Had to do the very same with my GPS recently that got a bit of rain damage.
will teach me to leave the windows down overnight.
Oh that sucks man!
@@TinkerManMick yeah think the resistive touch screen element is done for - but it's a navman so it can just get turfed.
The common asian way for fixing any water damage on electronic device (mostly handphone)
Hey tinker man the blue x button on my Xbox one controller stopped working after I spilt milk on it how do I fix it? Can you do a video on it?
Another great video bruva 💯
Dont use rice, you can actually just let the whole thing dry (After you have taken out the power source ofcourse) and wait 1-4 days since rice can get stuck inside of whatever you've spilt it on also, its nor really great putting like a whole PC in rice.
Btw it takes 3 days for all water to come out the xbox series s
Thanks mate 🙏🏻
😀
I always wondered why people would use rice
Yeah I've tried it a few times with no luck.
Doesnt always work unfortunately but when it does... OMG 😀
wow mick i never knew you had a pet bird btw my dog Sunshine passed away 😭
Sorry for your loss 😪 hope you are doing well frisky!
Xbox flavoured rice loo
Great video
Thank you 😊
Lets Go Gamers!!!!

Damn
I literally wasted two small drops of water onto my right joystick and it keeps making me look up in whatever game im in but it doesnt do it over and over again it does it after like 30 seconds have passed.
Nifty video!
Thanks!
Love that accent
Love your name 🤣
@@TinkerManMick haha 🍻
Comes with the territory...
When I use my controller after washing my hands will it do damage to my controller?
I dont see how it would do damage if your hands were dry. If they are still dripping wet then it could get into the controller and possibly damage something
@@TinkerManMick yeah that’s what I meant

A good bit o kit to keep on hand is 100% IPA and some silicone based machine contact cleaner spray for water displacement Spray it down with the WD40 or Contact cleaner then after about an hour wipe it down and then alcohol it down and fan it dry with a paper towel the contact cleaner is to make sure the metal points dont end up having mineral deposits left behind from the water causing mixed metal corrosion. then the rice would be an extra cautionary step not nessary but it wont hurt either

Question: why does the jump button not respond when you press it? (It only has a likely percent chance for it to happen)

Now, how do I do a whole xbox series s?
Hey mick I-was wondering if I could get a controller bc I didn’t get anything for Christmas
Hi I've been watching a couple of your videos on how to fix the left stick on a Xbox controller and Xbox Elite controller but for some reason I don't know how no matter how many times I try is there a way I can make a request that you could possibly look at it for me and try to fix it? I will pay you$
2:32 alcohol i though liquid was the problen 🤣
How do I craft this again?
Use it at your own risk***
I got gorilla glue on my headphones
No good. A lot of glues break down with the right chemicals. Google what removes gorilla glue to see if you can fix it up
