amazing in depth info, thank you. got the back of the tv off and cleaned those ribbons from the tcon and put everything back together and its good now.
Thanks for the video, this is really helpful and informative. I have a QLED with partial backlight failure, one section has turned much darker than the rest which is sad to see on a 4 year old TV.
Thank you for the short, straight-to-the point, helpful video! As of a few days ago, my TV's backlight decided to only work whenever it feels like it. It's not completely burned out or broken because it does work occasionally and when it does, it will continue to work perfectly fine for hours, for as long as you keep the TV on. No flickering or any other issues, just a perfectly normal functioning TV. Until you turn the TV off.. because when turning it back on again, it's pretty much a gamble of whether or not the backlight will decide to work. It often takes multiple attempts to get the backlight to work again. It's not a Samsung but I'll see if the link can be of any help.
Informative video. I had very little faith that the power fixes would work, and they didn’t. I have no one to blame but myself because Consumer Reports is still out there doing their thing. Still, it angers me when I discover a product with a known and ongoing flaw/issue from a “reputable” company. Samsung is aware that most consumers don’t do research prior to purchase. And that’s giving intentional consumer victimization energy…imo
For the "half screen dark" issue. Is it a line down the center or does it fade to black? I've got a tv that half the screen is black but it fades over a like an inch or two.
I have set my backlight and brightness to absolute minimum, and yet it failed twice in two years of warranty. Many options have very little to no effect at all on the backlight brightness. Everybody still complains about the agressive bright backlight, it's like looking at the sun, an no kidding I sit in front of my TV wearing sunglasses a 3.200€ Samsung 2023 Neo QLED Q85QN90B I am sure it will fail again in 2025... Are there any options in the service menu to test/analyse the backlight panel ?
More often than not when I put the tv on the lcd sriips I believe that they’re called are horizontal up and down my screen. All the way across. And I need to shut everything d.iiv beeown and rest it .also some time when I put the tv on the screen is black but there is sound coming out . And last thing is some time when sometimes when put the tv on with remote ,it come on the o power off in a split second ,, and the tv maybe little bit over 5 yrs old. For a while th tv came on. By it self .
My tv has bright lights on both sides of it. What should I do. If I turn up the light it becomes to bright and somehow still a bit dark in the middle. Or like, the side lights blinds the rest I guess.
See more details on these in the accompanying guide: www.lapseoftheshutter.com/samsung-tv-backlight-issue/

I'll never buy a Samsung TV again. This issue seems so common
I bought a new qn90d neo QLED 900 euros and after 1 day and in dark areas of a movie there is a backlight flickering …
@@profvonshredder2563 that’s the last time I buy Samsung tv

How about when a tv has got blue light bleeding across it.

An excellent video.
Thank you very much.
Can the actual LCD panel itself wear out these days (assuming backlit technology and not OLED)?
Thank you for helping!! Unfortunately yeah my friend would sleep with his 5yr old samsung on for hours.
What is it then when I have some dimming but light wiggling lines coming from the bottom?
Thank You great tips
Glad it was helpful!

I don't see the "Link in the top right that will show you how to fix this."
Womp womp
I have a light at bottom in boarder gone bright with 4 light streaks above it. Anyone one know how to fix?
What if there is no backlight and when you shine your light on the tv there's no image showing
I'm having the same problem too
Samsung should be sued for the backlight problem. Its not safe for people opening up tvs without knowledge of the power.
I have this one dark spot on my TV, and it's not something i can wipe off.
Back light should be strong and long life....
Pay attention on it...
mine is backlight issue
I have semi white lines 😠 it's only been 2 flipping years! If I hadn't have OCD it wouldn't bother me.
samsung friigin scam
Just buy a new TV, and get a good brand. Samsung has gone to shit.
