- Please be advised that THIS VIDEO WAS MADE IN JUNE 2016 from an IGN PREVIEW VIDEO, so before you ask "YO DUDE HOW COME YOU'VE GOT THE HERO'S TUNIC BUT YOU DIDN'T FINISH THE PLATEAU" or "DUDE STOP JUMPING AROUND I CAN BARELY HEAR IT", please check the upload date :P
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:
By cutting out the gaps, it's clear that the Song of Time is slowly playing in the background while Link explores the ruined temple in Breath of the Wild.
If you play the video at 2x speed it's closer to the normal speed.
This is edited footage from an IGN video ( • Legend of Zelda: Breat... )
Poetic how the song of time used to be known through the land appreciated. but now it’s broken, incomplete…gone
Its impressive to think, that once, the liveliest place in Hyrule (Market), was there 10,000 years ago, and now, its just a bunch of debris and other stuff...
@@boomdx2109 far far longer than that
Took a couple of listens but damn it is indeed! The music in this game is going to be insane!
DrLockdown the music in this game....ITS INSANE!!!!
it gets more obvious if you change the setting in the video to play speed x2 =D
botw is just so sad and emotional compared to all the other titles
I am legit probably gonna stand at the top of the temple for a long time just listening to this.
You really went crazy in the description calm down dude
I can hear the song but this would have been alot nicer had you just stood still and let it play and didn't mix in all the ambient sounds of climbing, opening the chest, checking your inventory, etc.
This is masterpiece
The new Assassin's Creed game looks great
I am going to play ocarina of time master quest now
Even Link sounds more calm compared to the Past.
lmfao yup
Ikr
Yeah...
soo true
lmao he just woke up from a 100 yr sleep he don't got energy
... Wait, there's a ladder to climb to the roof?! I had been climbing the broken front this entire time!
OOF yeah, when I started I did not see that ladder until I fell off the temple at least 3 times T^T -__-
bruh
@@theheroriptide215 Ahah same TwT
Same
try to make it sound like zeldas lullaby when its actually the song of time genius composer is genius
I don't get it...
+Vinícius Luz hehe what i meant was if you listening carefully theres this part where it sounds like zeldas lullaby :-D
+Berton Peter Oohh... Sure hahaha
+Vinícius Luz listen to the 1:40 music notes, it sounds as if its about to start playing zeldas lullaby
Berton Peter yeah i did heard the lullaby
the fact that the song of time plays in the background when you're near the temple of time adds so much atmosphere to the game. it's such a necessary touch for that scene to be more melancholic. if there would have been no music or just environmental sounds only or another song was playing, it wouldn't have had the same effect. i love little details like this.
This literally isn’t even the song of time…
@@holleringsmith3837 its the motif
If you listen closely you can hear that it is just a remade version of it sprinkled into the song
@@holleringsmith3837 It's in there! This short speeds up the BOTW temple of time theme so you can hear it better. ruclips.net/user/shortsc7dVLC2UrwE?feature=share
@@holleringsmith3837it is. speed it up to 2x speed
300 :3
Go to the youtube detail settings and set the speed to x2.
I could tell but it's still very slow compared to the normal song in Oot. I sounds nice though.
Speeding it up distorts the audio and video.
TheShadowSage you don't have this option on your phone
Marinello Vragovic Makes sense.
It screws up the video for me so I can't do it.
Thank you, I really didn't know what they were talking about before that.
Just listening to this lets people know how weathered down Hyrule is compared to what it used to be.
If you're talking about the lacks of towns and villages and other NPCs, those were left out of the demo intentionally.
he's talking about the fact that the kingdom is in decay, in ruins.
The power of the downfall timeline will do that.
Ninten I think I understand what people are saying in the comments.
Link was killed by Ganon in Ocarina of Time, and he was buried within a tomb because of his title. Now that Ganon has been reborn, and there is no one with the spirit of the hero in Hyrule. The goddesses resurrect the Hero of Time to fight the Calamity Ganon.
+Revali That would be an interesting theory, but are you sure there were guardians and Divine Beasts in that version of OOT ? Plus the memories cutscenes would deny that theory
Tbh you have to REALLY know the song of time before you can realize it. But when you play at 2x speed and listen very closely its playing just a bit slow and the piano keys can be a bit misleading but its there.
Mike Taylor Jr. Yeah, those "jazzy" notes between those song of time-notes makes it hard to recognise it,but now i hear it clearly. So cool. Hopefully this game has alot of ties to Ocarina of Time!
clubdriver You telling me man, I can't wait.
clubdriver It was an amazing game, perfect imo.
i can hear zelda’s lullaby, not the song of time
@@scoots4267 same. I can't hear the Song of Time anywhere. The pitch and tune are WAY off. Zelda's Lullaby is more present.
Link is actually dope af, like wut is he doin just chillin at the tip of the building Spider-Man style lmao.
Lol
Selfhow what about other assassins?
@@abyssstrider2547 altaïr style?
@@josephandreirobles1849 Oh yes!
The destruction these machines caused... the way they tore the temple apart and left it to sit for 100 years... I legit cried seeing the condition of Hyrule.
Looks like it actually was the machines that caused the damage.
If you operate a cannon on a tank and fire it at someone's house, did the tank destroy it or did the person behind the cannon do it?
Hyrule still looks better than Detroit, MI despite all that destruction! LOL
@@jacobg.witmer
Proof that the Earth is better without people.
It is not the machines it is GANON!
Koji Kondo's ability to recontextualize familiar melodic themes in ways that compliment the setting and narrative themes of different Zelda games actually fucks me up. I wonder if this soundtrack will be as thoughtful as Majora's Mask's.
I don't think he is making the music this time. He just said he will over see it.
He still has a major part in it and is likely behind the theming of the music.
Majora's music is some next level shit when it comes to atmosphere building.
Koji Kondo has done hardly any compositional work since Majora's Mask idiot.
Matthew Etter woah, take it easy man
For those of you who aren't hearing it clearly, turn your speed up to 2. The most notable parts are around 20-25 seconds and 47 seconds - 1 minute c:
Everyone should be seeing this comment. I didn't hear it until I saw this then when I slowed it down I heard it all the time
We’re not hearing it because this isn’t the song of time.
@@holleringsmith3837 it is a remake
@@holleringsmith3837it is actually
@@holleringsmith3837you self reported the fact you don’t know music composition. It’s literally the same notes, in the same key. The only change is the tempo. I do find comments like yours funny that confidently claim something that can easily be fact checked
I hate how the kokori are just everywhere and even interrupting such beautiful views, it’s just so annoying to hear their propeller fly while trying to enjoy a great view
I legit got angry when I found one in the shrine of restoration.
I hate koroks they scare me so bad
@@snikerz5886 Calm TF down. You should see a therapist if these kinds of things are making you angry. You're going to have a brain aneurysm if you keep it up.
lambdaman dude the koroks are pretty annoying and ruin a beautiful scene. It’s okay to be a little angry at that.
@@baalgar5530 The scene is "ruined"? No it's not. And likewise it's not okay to be angry about it. Push the joystick a bit... Now it's out of frame. Tada! If pushing a joystick makes you angry, wait till you become an adult, enter the real world, and pay your first bill. You'll feel the anger of 10000 firey suns, because it's 10000 times more inconvenient than pushing a joystick.
The slow music and how beaten down the temple is... it’s haunting.
Link past:AAAAAAAAAAAA
Link smash 64:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Link now:Ah.....
But imagine if this came out and Joe Hisaishi turned out to be the composer!!
please please please please please please please please
Pie in the Sky I was literally just thinking while watching the long gameplay vids while listening to the background music, that it reminds me of spirited away and I cried
The music does look like some Ghibli score
I thought I was crazy for thinking I was hearing this hidden in there. Guess I was correct.
Love this game. The only thing i thought was missing was good Hyrule Field music. Riding my horse through an open field with no heroic music felt so un-Zelda
how'd you get the footage?
It's from a video on IGN's channel. Link's in the description :P
+William Russell no he is on screen ( the link that is ) :-P
Haha LINK'S in the description
Never knew about that ladder.
I wouldn't call that really "hidden". It's pretty easy to make out, at least for me.
Same.
Wow dank people
i was so scared when i saw a living guardian and even MORE scared when i saw one running around trying to blow me up😨
Jfc that's so subtle. I never would've noticed if it wasn't pointed out lmao
I'm crying I don't hear the song of time there
Hana Ahmed, speed it up
Lioncub1234 Fuzz oh, I hear it now! thank you!!
The harmonies in this are so beautifully sad
So since we are pretty much sure this is AFTER ocarina of time, I would LOVE to see THE ocarina of time, I mean why not? Maybe take away it's powers if you had to but it would still be fun to have our most iconic instrument return
Oh shit... 2x the normal speed it IS the song of time. Props to the person who found this!
Listen carefully to the highest notes in the piano. The melody is of course more disjunct and the chords more colorful and spaced apart but the Song of Time is 100% there.
It sounds like they took a lot of themes from older zelda games but morphed them a bit. It's kind of really fitting for the game because you can see familiar settings that are ancient and decreped. Like, I guess link has trouble with his memories, but he cans till remember bits and pieces. Like the music, he can remember notes and some patterns, but the rest gets filled in or left out. So genius!
In hyrule castle there is a section that has Zeldas lullaby in it, it almost sounds like shes crying for help within the tower
i don't hear it i here the piano but it dosen't sound like the song of time to me
I can hear it better in the video linked in the desc. You can check that out and see if it helps.
+Sniper and Rifle man why didn't this guy show that since you could only really hear it speed up
+Kains Legacy it's pretty clearly there. But the notes are separated
You can hear it best at 1:27-1:48.
It's very easy to hear. You just have to pay attention.
Never would've caught that, wow. It's just so slow you'd never catch it if you weren't actively listening for it.
you know at first when you leave the cave of Resurrection and you see the world you automatically think how cool this world is! but as you progress through the game and see iconic land marks destroyed and stuff you start feel a little pain or if not sad because you realize how bad that last battle went in order for all of that to happen.
At 1:14 what is that silhouette floating in the sky? Its definitely not a cloud.
it kinda looks like one of those teleporter things from twilight princess to me
+Knorrio i was thinking the same thing
Probably Skyloft
Xpry IT'S A BIRD SHIP :D
ITS A BIRD
2016 ?? What the Fuck ?
Lyscanys Elfiryand This was a Beta.
in a legend of Zelda, where all the pots were broken
Anybody else notice that he has no other key items but the sheika slate? 0:29
5 years and every day I still learn something new about this game
Wait, the korok said until next time? It always says twee hee for me
No way a breath of the wild video says 7 years ago on it!
I dont know what's happening here. Whats happening here?
Twilight Princess cell shading that looks like Skyward Sword
0:39 go speed x2 And you’ll hear it
OK, The legend of Zelda -Assassin Creed- XD
oh my gosh i love links voice! Even though its like a hundred years after one of the zelda games where link dies, he sound like a teen so YOUNG (i know the reason for this, he was practically put in cryo stasis for a hundred years or less)
I don't hear it at all. I'm probably deaf.
Man I love this game
Whats the hidden song😑😑😑
Assassin's Creed vibes...
I literally waited until the melody appears but it was always there lol
Sounds like the Castle theme from Ocarina of Time. Yes I did research its the Temple of time piano theme from Ocarina of time. And I did edit this comment. XD
Wait a second...
There's a ladder on the temple of time???
Holy I hear it!!!! What an amazing find!!!
You know what I find funny? The temple of time is actually structured like the original, and the courtyard is (albeit barely) similar too.
i'd like it if nintendo made a fourth timeline just to mess with us xD
Why is no one talking about why link doesn't have the paraglider but has the champions tunic. I'm very confused.
Maybe if this were a video that focused on sound instead of... I don't know, jumping around and other distracting things, that would've been obvious...
I've NEVER noticed that before. I just thought:" Oh, some nice, little piano music over here." Yeah of course it is idiot! It is the Song of Time :,DD,So glad i found this :))
For anyone that doesn't hear the Song of Time, simply listen to it at 2x speed.
your not really playing Breath Of The Wild unless your playing on a Nintendo Switch (Lite, Regular, or 🅞🅛🅔🅓)
MY OPINION :P (this is kinda a joke)
one of the most bizzare things I do in BOTW is any time I get enough soul orbs I don't go to any nearby shrine, I go right back here to do the exchange. Like yeah sure I could just make it quick but nah, I put the effort to go up to the shrine and give it some attention.
Ngl, my favorite link is the breath of the wild and the ocarina of time one
My favorite Zelda is definetely the twilight princess
good catch
Hold on a sec, how in the shit do you already the champions tunic without a glider or ANYTHING apart from the sheikah slate?
People is blinded by hype and comparing this game to ocarina of time. It doesn't. Time will give me the reason. Meanwhile you can dislike this comment ;)
My question is, how the heck does he have the champions tunic before he leaves the great plateau? He has only three hearts and the basic stamina. Which means the old dude hasn't /won't tell him unless he chats it up with the statue. Yet, you get the tunic from Impa??
I hear it. People who didn't hear it at first like me, just keep listening and follow the music. just try to listen to the music and not the ambient and regular volume.
Very cool 😎
It doesn't even sound like the same song. Even when you set the speed to 2x there's only a few notes from Song of Time. I'd hardly call this a Song of Time remix in all honesty.
Wow! Botw was released in 2017 but how is this video recorded at 2016?
Why does the Wii U version look better?
What?
I wouldn't say its hidden. More of a leitmotif. A recurrent theme throughout a musical or literary composition, associated with a particular person, idea, or situation.
its literally just the temple of times original theme but slowed down and off beat because its now destroyed.
Don't give it a dislike just because you can't hear the song. Yes, it is there.
I’m not much for these new Zelda games but seeing how much destruction those machines caused fires me up.
I wanna take them all down.
this explains how BOTW is the best game. I've nothing to add, sorry guys ;)
This guy's last name is literally Rusl, only a different spelling. Plus it's a Zelda vid.
When you speed it up it sounds like crap because its actually just spread out. I made a video that puts it back together that makes it more accurate: ruclips.net/video/A_k-9nQs404/видео.html
Imo this is what totk was lacking! Really subtle nods to the overall lore
i don't understand why nintendo has to hide the songs from us. it would be 100% cooler if the song of time just played throughout the temple.
for a second there, I thought Link's gonna "leap of faith" that roof.
I don't hear it. You can tell me all you want about hearing the song of time, but I just... don't hear it.
Put the video at x2 and you can hear it a heck of a lot clear albeit still a bit broken. If you still can't hear after that then you haven't heard temple of time enough or in a while and should revisit the track then return here
I can't do that.
+Shaun M gotta do it from PC or look up a sped up version that clearly points it out for u
Oh, alright then... I'll do it.
@@shaunm6383 So uh. Did you hear it?
You could say that it’s the world of Hyrule trying to go back in time before the great calamity, but that’s a bit of a stretch
This game looks simply amazing
The title screen music in OOT is the same song Mario plays on the warp whistle in Mario 3.
So how the fuck does less than 2 minutes of video have better music than whole games? Damn it Koji give someone else a chance
Amazing! It's very clear the minute period starting just after 0:35.
Nice, the melody is there but the voicing they added made it sound spacey and dissonant.
Oh wow its the songs of time slowed down, very interesting I didn't even notice while playing the game?
there was a LADDER? whyd I climb it manually!?!?
Crazy how distinct it is to my ears, and some ppl can't hear it at x2.. Wondering if I'm being trolled.
Holy shit, I have been playing this game since its release and didn't notice this at all
