A lot of these are really good things to think about so many ppl make the warmth mistakes however as a southern californian , I do have to say with how hot it is 80% of the year most of our clothes are year round instead of seasonal, also I think a lot of ppl maybe experiencing those odd paper thin leggings that are like under $10 most of the time I personally love yoga pants that are fleece lined and not at all see through as my main pants they have pockets on the side of the leg that are deeper and definitely more secure to hold my phone than the back pocket of any of my jeans (which I hardly wear because in the winter I feel like the cold cuts right through and in the summer I feel like I’m baking bc their holding in heat) also even though we don’t have a “Real winter” I am personally very sensitive to the cold and have awful circulation and my yoga’s have been one of the best options over basic leggings while being more comfortable than denim. Also having a jacket that is cute but you wouldn’t care to much about losing or getting stained has been a great staple as well.
i used to wear ripped jeans all the time and sometimes even got the looks of professors but really didnt care then ... now all i want in my denim is clean look so that it can last forever

I'm 14 and because of laini my style has changed so much now its waay better than what I was wearing befre I kinda found my style I think
obv not for going out but most definitely for hanging out/groceries/etc..... for me leggings are so uncomfy but i will die by bike shorts + big sweater.... i live for a princess diana moment
the WEARING LACE CROP TOPS IN THE DEAD OF WINTER hurt my soul a bit, so true rip
I love this video! The warmth conversation should be louder, I only got the lesson when I was extremely underweight, because I destroyed my circulation and felt cold all the time. Dr Martens are friends and that long black coat in your mum's wardrobe will make you look so powerful
6:07 girl, your video and the tips you gave us are very important and necessary! i'm from brazil and i've been looking all over the internet finding real college wardrobe tips and i found you. honestly, i would love to see you comment on this, even though there are quite a few girls making these types of videos. i want to hear from you, i want to hear your tips, i want to learn from you. what you say is important to me, that's why I'm here. understood? kisses from brazil
wow you skin loos SO AMAZING!! PLs pls share your skincare Routine with us 😭🙏💕
you're so underrated laini, loved the video! xx

The comment section of this video is so helpful! Loved the video 🥰
Yayy the queen posted!!🥰🥰
This is soo freaking life saving, not that my clg is starting but whenever it starts I don't wanna look or wear what I wore back in the years it was just soo humiliating back then but I didn't realise cuz I didn't have that much sense but now I do and I love your fashion sense like it's simple but classy, and thank you for making this vid, could you by any chance show your outfits that you have for clg or are your fav, or essential only if you can tho and thanks for helping me out
Ugh ily laini!! gonna rewatch this in a few weeks before i move out
A lot of these are really good things to think about so many ppl make the warmth mistakes however as a southern californian , I do have to say with how hot it is 80% of the year most of our clothes are year round instead of seasonal, also I think a lot of ppl maybe experiencing those odd paper thin leggings that are like under $10 most of the time I personally love yoga pants that are fleece lined and not at all see through as my main pants they have pockets on the side of the leg that are deeper and definitely more secure to hold my phone than the back pocket of any of my jeans (which I hardly wear because in the winter I feel like the cold cuts right through and in the summer I feel like I’m baking bc their holding in heat) also even though we don’t have a “Real winter” I am personally very sensitive to the cold and have awful circulation and my yoga’s have been one of the best options over basic leggings while being more comfortable than denim. Also having a jacket that is cute but you wouldn’t care to much about losing or getting stained has been a great staple as well.
i used to wear ripped jeans all the time and sometimes even got the looks of professors but really didnt care then ... now all i want in my denim is clean look so that it can last forever
YOU NEVER MISS . i loved this video so much its exactly what we needed omg
wow! you look stunning lain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
I’m a sophomore and I haven’t been to a single damn party 😀 love college so much I want to drop out

I’m so glad this video is my introduction to ur channel
Laini you are sooooo beautiful and your makeup is on point. Thanks for this video!
awh thank u so much!
Love your makeup
you remind me a lot of victoria pedretti in this video, i mean you always do to be honest, but especially in this video
Can u do a video on how to style a baseball cap? Or baseball cap essential/ must have baseball cap(maybe colour)? Thankyou:)
girllll i go to western michigan and i know lots of people that go to gv that’s so cool! i needed this vid lol
perfect timing I'm just starting packing to go back to uni !!
omg tysm for this,, ill be starting my first year in a few months and i needed this ❤
Currently on senior year, reminiscing on the time where i could wear leggins to class without feeling unprofessional. I would wear a suit or a black midi dress on important exams so it was ok
You weren’t rambling at all! Loved the advice!
Your skin is glowing🤩🤩
This Is So True In H.S I Whore The Same Thing Often & Didn’t Really CareAfter Freshman Year Lmfaooo. Once I Did My First Year Of College I Really Realized I Had No Clothes, Even Though I Brought A Few Thing In The Beginning & Throughout. Great tips ❤️
Just started uni ! Thx so much for this :)))
leggings are the most comfortable bottoms, i dont really like them anymore but i do like flared leggings/yoga pants and id wear them going out. id rather be comfy and i also hate skirts and dress so i dont see a problem with it.
Can you make an outfit inspo vid of longer shirts bc I know I need to get some but idk how to style them :(
I need to wear caps more often & I need to find more casual dresses ✨
i love this video it’s super informative and i detail! Laini you should make a video on styling cowboy boots in the fall!
coming!
Trying to find the balance after I turned 25. I don't want to look like I'm trying desperately to hold onto my youth but I don't want to dress like a mom either. 😔
omg, youre only 25! dont worry!! youre still so young??
I feel you! Turning 24, entered the work force two years ago and went through the same phase. I would recommend second hand/vintage clothing. After searching, trial and error, you’ll become able to identify cuts, brands and materials that flatter you and are a good balance between youthful and professional. Also : know your measurements, and build a relationship with a good tailor. It really comes in handy. Good luck!
@@candiceb8605 I've actually been a vintage seller on the side for 10 years. Trouble is a lot of it is too small for me now (modern size 6).
@@kr3642 I'm so sorry for you and also surprised, as we're the same size and I have no trouble finding stylish and well-fitted vintage/second hand clothes (I live in France, maybe that plays out)
@@candiceb8605 yeah that's probably why. My waist is 71.12cm and a lot of the surviving vintage in my area of the US is stuff that would have fit teenagers back in the day. Waist 60.96cm (size 0).
I remember going to an American high school and seeing people in pajamas at noon, in France you wouldn’t even be allowed into the school and would have to go home if you wore ripped jeans
2016 was the era of leggings! I was one of the victims 😆 crop top + leggings oh God. I look badddd 😩
love you Laini!!!!
I love this so much!!!! Such good tips 🥰
Lets talk about your glow up!!!! Wow 🤍
Can You please tell me what lipgloss are You wearing? It looks so good!
this video is super helpful and so realistic! so many videos like this that I have seen were specific to one style trend which was frustrating. Also, you remind me of Nev Campbell for some reason and I just had to let you know haha
Omg you look so beautiful 😍That glow❤
Thank you so much!!
I'm moving to Madrid in 2 weeks to be an English language assistant for the British Council in a high school (I'm French, doesn't make any sense I know) and I've been thinking about my clothes and style as a teacher
I don't know if I'll be dressing the same as I do, I already look like a high schooler because of my baby face, I think I need to dress more mature to look older and be taken seriously
I think I need a "how to dress for work" video!
you’re in luck! she just made one
u look so chic in this video omg
thank u!!!!
I graduated the same year as you so I have no business watching this but it popped up in my recommended.. I clicked expecting some very niche recommendations presented as the EPITOME of fashion when it's really just subjective, but I must say u made some excellent points. also I love your hair and your voice. mwah #subbed
awh thank's so much for deciding to stick around!
Also do a vlog where you do something out of your comfort zone like dancing
Love this so much! Obsessed with the accessories you’re wearing too🤍
Thank you!!
I remember when I went to my first frat party in the dead of winter and all these girls were running through the snow in cropped tanks and leggings and air forces and I felt like a sore thumb bc I was in a sweatshirt and flannel bc it was freezing outside 💀 well looking back now I was the smart one 😂
thanks for being real, i gotta branch out from those lulu lemon leggings
your voice is angelic!!
I 100 percent agree about having warm boots but girl! Docs are not winter boots! lol they aren't warm at all. I spent all of college trying to wear them in the winter and wondering why my feet were always frozen. They have no insulation (the ones most people wear anyway) get some insulated boots made for winter temperatures. Merrell, UGG, Columbia ect.
I love this soo much, very helpful video Laini😘
