love how you keep everything sustainable while still super fun. im so tired of all the fast fashion. we all need to fall in love with what we already have again
“Don’t think when I saw it 800x times, think how you felt the first time” that’s so true. I first saw the Tabis back in 2013/14 and it was one of my dream boots. 10 years later, I reached my goal on being able to splurge on it. I love it because I took time to see what I really like and how it aligns with me as a person. It’s a lot of thought for an item, but it’s so worth it. I like the tabi flat and Mary Jane, but the tabis that will always be worth it to me will be their ankle boot
I feel the same way and my goal is to save enough money to treat myself with boots for the fall! How have they held up for you? Did you actually have to take them to a cobbler?
@@karleevalentine7748 tabi soles are smooth leather; you can technically wear them out immediately but getting rubber (vibram>>>) soles will make them last 100x longer & prevent them from slipping on smooth/ wet ground. definitely worth the slight hassle imo
I pulled the trigger on buying the yellow tigers last month off of Goat, SO WORTH IT. I was worried about styling but it adds to any simple black, white, jeans outfit. I’m definitely going to get another pair because I love them so much. It was a risk buying them but I’m so glad I did.
Capri hack: I bought a variety of detachable pins that look like jean buttons. They’re to adjust the size of buttoned pants however you want, but I also use them to crop my pants. I fold them and put a pin on the outer pant. It adds a cool detail too.
I am and have been a big fan of cargo capris for like 20 years now. Idc if they are trendy or out of style or if people think they are ugly or cute. I think they're cute and I absolutely love them. They're so ridiculously comfortable. And I LOVE that I can easily thrift them for like $5.
Buying for your fantasy self. Good way to put it! I’m guilty of this, especially with summer clothes, that I never end up wearing because I live somewhere cold and rainy!
the person who wasn’t sure about the chain mail bag should definitely get it, i’ve had it for like a year and it’s still one of my favourite pieces ever!!! goes with so many outfits and it can make an outfit so much cooler also it’s handmade it’s so worth it
I got the damson madder cheetah print jeans and even though I see them a lot online, I've never seen them worn in real life. It's one of those items that's trending online but not in real life. The pants are also incredibly flattering, didn't expect that lol
for the girl who wants the onitsuka tigers look at asics instead! onitsuka and asics are owned by the same company so asics carries very similar styles and are much easier to get
@@olliea1663it was originally a very old (end of the forties) Japanese sport fashion brand that has later on been purchased by ASICS in the late seventies
I feel the same way about the sambas! I got them in 2020 and it felt a bit weird back then but now it gave me the confidence to wear them even when they’re not trending anymore :)
I feel like I've left this comment before, but--a few years I thrifted a pair of Sperry's and was so proud of myself. HOWEVER, that kind of sole gets brittle when it gets old, meaning it becomes hard plastic with no grip whatsoever. After almost slipping and killing myself a couple times I had to get rid of them! And I have thrifted plenty of shoes and never had this complaint with any other brand or style.
re: getting the square toe ballet flats, i agree with your advice, especially for my closet and style. i got platform converse back in 2020 or 2021 and still love converse but have wished i just got the regular ones lol.
So I have the vintage Steve Madden platform slides (thanks to my mom for being iconic in the 90s) and I will say if you get them vintage just be aware that the fabric part might be stretched out and it makes them hard to walk in. I had mine tightened at a cobbler (maybe you could DIY I’m just not handy) and now they’re great again
could you do a video on how to get out of the sneaker comfort zone? I want to start wearing different types of shoes but after only wearing sneakers as a teenager and young adult I don't know where to start how to style them and I always feels like I'm doing too much. I'm just so used to sneakers but I want to learn how to casually wear other shoes too
I have the same problem and I’m starting to branch out more by wearing 1460 doc martens with my outfits where id usually slip on a pair of sambas or asics. They’re not a super out there shoe and can still be casual but they sort of elevate an outfit. Start out by trying something casual and low key but still not a sneaker and you’ll get more comfortable!
I suggest starting with a shoe style that draws you, look at the silhouette, and see if it will fit with most of your wardrobe. I use the 333 method. I got a sneaker (like asics, onitsukas, nike), a more formal shoe like doc martens, black boots, dress shoes, flats, and then something fun either by color, shape, or style like those ballerina mary janes i got from rockfish weatherwear
I just got the Vans mary janes because I typically wear either Vans slip-ons or mary jane heels. It's the perfect bridge between my casual and dressy style that lets me mix and match my clothes in new ways. I tried on different colors in store, and I feel like the satiny black material on one of the colorways was just a tad less comfy than the canvas black material on the others. But either way, I think they're great, and the price is reasonable to try it out. I'm curious to see how other people will style them.
I have three pairs of Onitsukas from Kicks Crew, and they seem legit to me. Nice leather, beautiful stitching, comfy and wearing well. So like…even if they’re somehow fake, gotta say I’m not mad 🙈
I swear there’s ones that’s called OEM quality in asia where it’s almost impossible to know they’re fake and sometimes they literally just dupes the only difference is where it comes from its insane
i got some black platform croc clogs like 2 months ago and have been wearing them nonstop. part of why i got them was because i do enjoy ironic fashion and these were my first pair of crocs ever so i said “if im so late to the trend i might as well go all out”, they were also on discount for like $45 and one of the only platform sandals i could find in a womens size 12 i am so obsessed tho and excited that i bought them! if anyones interested with similar needs to mine i highly reccomend!
oh same! I got black platform crocs on sale recently and I'm a little obsessed with them, I wear them to run errands around my neighborhood and things like that, they're comfortable to walk in but easy to put on so I find them super practical. I wouldn't say I wear them in an ironic way so much, I do just genuinely enjoy how they look, the silhouette is similar to other shoes I have and I think there's something a little futuristic about them I think is really cool.
I would repurchase my allsaints mid waisted wide leg ripped knee mid wash blue jeans in a length length 30 because they’re the best fitting jeans I’ve ever had and I’ve had them for 2 years and I fluctuate weight !! And they still fit me 😍
i thought of sending my item (a pair of boots) to your ig question, then I thought I was still so hesitant about these boots to even send a pic so I think that was a sign to not buy them 😣 random update: I found a pair of boots in a thrift store for so much cheaper and it's much aligned with what I was looking for! I'm so glad I didn't buy the other one :D
I got my tigers like a year and a half ago and brought them on a 3 month trip in Europe. Avg like 13k steps a day and wore them most of the time. Also volunteered on a farm and those were my only work shoes 😭 was able to get them mostly white again and overall the quality is great. Still holding up
I'm sorry it's just so cute to hear you say Havianas without the a. When I realised our everyday black flip flop got popular I thought I was hallucinating.
It’s crazy how much onitsukas are going for now, my husband has two pairs that he bought like 8/9 years ago and they were a little over 100 CAD and now they’re going for 200-300+ 😭
i got the mm tabi ballerina pumps at a rly great discounted price and brought them to a cobbler. it was my first time going and it was def worth it. i am not sure why designer goods use leather soles tho bc they are fragile and hard to walk in imo
I really don’t recommend the Steve Madden slinky platform sandals - they’re so cute but SO uncomfortable to walk in. The elastic is too stretchy to keep your foot in the sandal so they slap your heels
I purchased my onasuka tigers a year and a half ago on Kick’s crew. They look and feel 100% authentic. I used to work in a shoe store that sold them. Just me. Maybe that’s changes. I purchased the birch and cream ones. Just for reference. Maybe that’s changed.
genuinely surprised at the boat shoe because it's pretty much a school uniform shoe here in spain and they are pretty cheap, real leather and made nationally lol
Ughh I’ve been hunting for a pair of those black slinky sandals BUT in a flat form and they are impossible to find! I’ve come so close to just getting the platform ones like you showed but I just know I wouldn’t wear them as much.
Boots feel more comfortable when you brake them in with your own feet, so I disagree to get them second hand unless you are just trying to save money. They like mold to your feet. Also square toe is very trendy but I find them much more comfortable than a round toe . They give much more room for your toes and it feels more natural.
hii i’m a real high schooler an avid croc hater. i definitely see them a lot around school, and never styled very well. i think it’s more of a comfort thing but i’m just on the hate train
What are some brands for loafers? I don’t like chunky ones so i ordered a pair from G.H Bass but the material was super weird! Idk if it was because they were new but I was very disappointed :(
i bought some replica tabi boots from etsy, handmade, same materials and everything, for around 150€ best purchase of my life. recommend going that route instead of buying real ones
i teach ballet and i got baby pink platform crocs to wear to and from class and got the little charms of ballet themes and my students LOVE them. haha

Love this type of video❤
What is the name of that company that makes the little red everyday bag? ❤
Virsa bags! It’s on Etsy, they’re handmade in Greece and are the best ever
Which camera is used to film the first half? The quality is so good!

Almost all of my loafers are Franco Sarto. They’re super comfy and come in a lot of styles.

I'd just like to say that sambas remind me of bowling shoes and that is not a compliment 😭
where are your earrings from?
i bought some replica tabi boots from etsy, handmade, same materials and everything, for around 150€ best purchase of my life. recommend going that route instead of buying real ones
Love this one!❤
Buy art from artists!
You buy onitsuka through ASICS in North America
i love havaianas!! but it's pronounced like ah-vah-ee-anas
The Steve Madden slides are pretty annoying to walk in (they don’t stick to your heel and then they plop close) so I do not recommend
yeah! they also hurt my knees
I wear crocs to take out the garbage n thats it
💘
Oh neets kah, not Ah nit soo kuh
Your original video before the camera change was still unclear.
No matter how many times I’ve seen tabis ew. Never please. Ugh
I have the Onitsuka slides bought from Asia 🫶🏼 they are cool but wearing them without socks leaves 😅 sweat stains on the white canvas sole … 😬
