i love what you said about the “being cringey” part! everyone needs to stop suppressing what they actually feel/act like just bc of the fear of being too cringey or embarrassing like… just live! we have a limited amount of time on earth, so spend that precious time being happy + care-free. people will like you for who you are!

Honesty I agree with her about the being “cringey”. I’m in college now and when I tell u I’m so glad I finished high school. Idk maybe it’s just me but after I moved to a different state I pretended and acted like the person I wanted to be. I became bold, and confident. I wear whatever the f I want and I love the stares I get lol. Some people will look at me like yikes but honesty I couldn’t care less, I’m stylish I love the way I dress. Yesterday I was wearing a mini skirt and a white tank top with some platforms. Plus I’m still young this is the time to go all out explore ur styles, be crazy because u can’t do these kinds of things when ur older. So don’t be embarrassed, embrace ur youth and freedom.
that actually sounds like such a cute outfit just imagining it in my head, and this is also advice i needed since everyone at my hs just copy eachother's streetwear style, which there is nothing wrong with but is so uncomfortable for me.. i've decided to embrace my style and femininity even if someone thinks it's 'cringe' cause i know i'll attract people who think the opposite. keep doing you girl!!

Going into senior year of hs what you said about getting into an ivy as validation of hard work and success is so true. Columbia is also my dream school and I have really low hope of getting in and getting rejected is probably gonna be awful. Trying to stay positive through!!

i loved how you added bits of advice throughout the video! even though it was about high school, i feel like so many of them can be applicable to college and even past that. like, even in college, we worry about being "cringey" or how others look at us but, most often, it's just fun to live and be happy for who you are!

I love how you say “focus on yourself”. It’s true!!!! We’re so caught up on everyone else’s lives that we Don’t even focus on what we need to do - and I can admit, this was me too. The competition is between you and yourself, not you and everyone else!! - as you similarity said. If you’re doing better than your past self, you’re improving. If you’re comparing yourself to others, you won’t see that improvement because now you’re focused on the competition between your improvement and someone else’s improvement which has nothing to do with you
I also like how you said “Don’t dedicate your whole life to college” or just school in general, honestly. Like, gosh, no one really knows the things I sacrificed just to have good grades in school - and let me tell you, it was a big lesson for me since I regret it. I gave up my friendship (this was when I was entering middle school and I became so busy that I didn’t have time to hang out with my best friend), I gave up spending time with my family (I would lock myself in my room and not be downstairs with my family all because I didn’t want to submit my work late), and I gave up eating sometimes so then I wouldn’t get “distracted” and so I can finish my work on time. Maybe someone might think these sacrifices make it “worth it” but I 100% disagree. You should never have to feel this way nor should you be forced to do it. And I believe personally that it’s not worth it. Who cares if the essay is a few minutes late, I’d rather eat a really good meal and “get distracted” than get 100% - if there isn’t even any grammatical errors…- on my essay after starving for hours. So in conclusion, don’t make that mistake. At least I believe it’s a mistake. I’ve never actually heard anyone say they’ve gone through this, BUT they could be like me who has never shared this until now.
