Why the is it back to school season already? Didn’t summer just start a couple weeks ago? How the heck did I still accomplish exactly zero of my summer goals? Those are the great mysteries of the universe that mankind may never solve. Joelle Brandts At my old *mixed* school, the girls wore skorts (skirts with shorts underneath) for Games/PE and skirts with tights normally. When it got to summer term, we had to wait for permission from the Headmaster until we could wear skirts with ankle socks day-to-day. If we wore it before he had, we would probably get told off. (Some teachers, male and female, didn't give a damn. You could tell they thought it was as stupid as we did. One teacher I was friends with before even going to the school even told me she thought it was.) For non-school uniform days, girls had basically the same dress code as normal when it came to skirts.
My school HATES flip flops because you get wood chips in your shoes. But there is other kinds of shoes that we are allowed to wear that also can get wood chips in your shoes. =>=

J Mohamed I’m living in the Netherlands and we don’t have any dresscodes. You can wear everything you want. But a few months ago, a girl wore a really short cropped top. There was a huge fight about it. Some people found it inappropriate: “You can see her whole belly! These are kind of clothes you wear to the pub, not to school!” But many others said: “She can wear whatever she wants! That’s her human right!” The last group won.
Well, we can all agree that Netherlands are the best. In France, we don't really have a dresscode, and it's even more troubles because if a teacher think your outfit is "inappropriate", then your outfit is inappropriate. In our rules it's just "Students must wear appropriate outfits" but nothing to explain what is a appropriate outfit.

I’m at uni now (and have been for like 3 years) and I had a school uniform all through primary school and high school. I enjoyed having uniforms all through school because I didn’t have to worry about choosing a different outfit and it put everyone on an ‘even playing field’. Now I have to find something different to wear everyday and while it can be difficult it’s helped me to hone my personal style :)
