The most common place for a soft contact lens to get stuck is underneath the top eyelid. This can be the most difficult to remove as well. The contact can either roll up and get stuck up there, or slide up there out of place. The techniques to remove the lens can work for both
-wash hands, make sure fingers are then very dry
-look down, or in the opposite direction the contact is at
    -try blinking forcefully
-use eyelid to massage the contact lens down
-try looking up or in the direction of the contact at the same time you massage the eyelid down
    -be patient

Thanks SO much. I’d spent a while trying to get my hard GP contact lens out, checking other You Tube clips, and by the time I got to you video my eye was uncomfortable and red, and then, about a third of the way through, it worked! Brilliant. Have bookmarked this!

The looking down was key for me! I had been looking up for about 10 minutes before I watched your video. I had to moisten my eye, force myself to really look down and stay looking down, and then massage it down very slowly and repeatedly. It worked!

I have luckily found your channel and enjoy what I have seen so far. Thank you. Do you have any videos or advice for me? I had cataract surgery about 4 years ago and was so very pleased with both eyes up until about 6 months ago. I have an awful time with fluorescent lights inside buildings and also certain times of the day outside. My eyes don’t get watery nor do I need to squint. It is like a film on both eyes almost like the cataracts have returned. I have been back to my eye doctor that did the surgery two times and both times he has confirmed that my eyes are good with all of his tests. I had hoped it was posterior capsule opacification , but he assured me it wasn’t. His theory was dry eyes. I have tried several types of drops and will do more types of therapy that you have suggested in your videos. Please advise ! Thank you.

I have been a lens wearer for over 30 years and this week for the first time I had a lense fragment under each one of my upper eye lids (after a particularly dry and apparently clumsy day) and for four days could not get the fragments out. I could feel the fragments when I rolled up my eyes or tried to fall asleep, and both my eyes and I got really irritated. Your video gave me the confidence to just look down toward my nose and keep on (and keep on...) massaging the upper eyelids toward the nose. After 5 minutes I had both fragments out. Thank you so much!

    Hello doc,
This question might be out of context of this video. But i found your videos helpful and really wanna know answer for this! I have got eye glasses for my long sightedness very recently and
I have started doing eye exercise for the past two weeks. I now see more floaters than before(not drastic but three or more floaters). I feel like my vision is getting improved with those eye excecise. So my question is, will eye exercise or wearing glasses increase floaters?
Second question: I see that the floaters gets lighted up(like firefly) when i move my eyes over a bright light or bright object. Is that because of my eyes are dry?
When i checked with opthomologist for both floaters and firefly problem they say my ratina is fine and he said that i have very dry eye. Am wondering if i am the only one who is having this firefly problem when i look into some bright things.

I'm not sure if I got a tiny bit of a torn contact lens stuck in my right eye. I removed my contact lens in my right eye and notice a very tiny portion of it was torn off. Is there a way to find out if it's stuck in my eye? I don't feel any pain or discomfort or redness. I wore glasses for 1 day because of this and there doesn't appear to be anything. I heard a torn contact lens in your eyes is dangerous compared to a regular contact lens that isn't broken. Does this mean if in few days there is no issue, then no torn contact lens is stuck in my eye? Or should one got to an eye doctor to check? A very tiny part of the contact lens is torn when I took it out but is it possible it got flattened somehow and that is how it looked? I don't recall the tiny piece dropping on the floor and even if it did, no way I would notice it because that broken piece is very small. Is a visit to eye doctor necessary or not?

I don’t where it’s located. It’s really thin. I was trying to get out. I can’t feel put I didn’t see it drop. My vision is blurry and I couldn’t find the lens so I assume it’s still in my eye

  • @gigmond
    @gigmond 3 месяца назад +1

In my first experience, I lost my right contact and didn't know if it was inside my eye or fell outside of it. The assumption was that it was outside, so I inserted a new one. after a few days, I lost the one from the right side again. When I went back to the Optometris, he put drops of dye in my eye to check if either of them were inside my eye. He said that he didn't see any contacts in my eye. So, I put in a new set and sure enough, I lost the one on the right side again. Two weeks after loosing that third contact (one month after loosing the first), I woke up with my eye feeling irritated. I went to the mirror and I was able to see something. I pulled it out and it was a folded up contact. I unfolded it and it turned out to be all three contacts.

You should go see your eye doctor right away. Too many floaters means you have a detached retina and that will cause blindness. This happened to my brother.
