I place the lens on the index finger of my dominant hand, irrespective of whether I am inserting it into my left or right eye. I only pull down my lower eyelid, not the upper one, saving time in the process. ( I have used soft contact lenses for 49,5 år).
Quick testimonial. I started using contacts again after many years. I wasn't able to put them in at the optometrist's office. I took a harrowing 15 minutes at home. Stumbled across your tutorial and followed it this morning. I had both lenses in on the first try. What magic is this?! Thank you, from the other side of the world.
I spent 90 minutes at the opticians and got too anxious to try again Edit: 2 weeks later I got them in my eyes and now I don't want to wear glasses again
Seriously! Took about 15-20 min getting my right one in n I messed around about 10 on my left side n thought lemme go to a RUclips tutorial n see if there’s any tricks. Watched him for the one time he popped it in his eyeball tried it with my left n bam! Stuck right on there! lol I was so happy! Now hopefully it won’t be a struggle next time. Now getting them out again I gotta watch for a better way lol
I first tried contacts when I was about 12 and I struggled bad getting them in and taking them out. Shortly after I gave up on contacts. I’m almost 33 and I finally gave contacts another shot. Between your videos and the help of my eye doctor I’m finally able to put in and take out my contacts! I’ve worn glasses since second grade and there’s no better feeling for glasses wearers than to be able to see without having to wear glasses! Thank you for your helpful videos!
Your tip to leave it a second or two on my cornea before closing my eyelids is a LIFESAVER! After struggling past 3-4 mornings to put the lenses in (I'm beginner to lenses), this tip actually made me put them in THE FIRST TRY! Thank you so much :)
Thank you for this! I found that looking away to first put the contact in and then looking straight helped me out but I would’ve never figured that out without this video. Also taking them out last night while insanely exhausted and no patience was easy with your help!
I’m a 48 year old new contact wearer. I was in the training in the office for 2 hours and still only got one in. It was so frustrating. It took me 10 minutes after watching this video! Thank you soo much!!! Invaluable content!!!
Thank you so much for your tutorials on how to get contacts in and out. I would never have been able to do it without your clear step by step instructions.
Thank you so much! You are a life saver. Watched 3 other videos but still couldn't put my contacts, and I watched yours and I was able to put them right away
Dr. EyeGuy, your video was so helpful, and I could see clearly everything (your eye, the contact, and fingers) on your video. You have great eyes for the demonstration and a great camera person. Very well done. Thank you!
Your Video was absolutely lifesaving. It took me 10+ minutes frustration to get my lenses in( first time wearer) but after watching your video both were in within seconds. Thank you! ❤
The first few time I put contacts in it took me more than 3 hours. I watched your video and I got them in on the first or second try. This is a lifesaver
goodness, the hint at the end to move the eye ball totowards where the contact lens is was a HUGE help. a frustrating 30 minute affair turned into 5 easy minutes. thank you good doctor.
That was great! I did not know about the astigmatism tip or taking my time at the last part or the eyelid technique! Mine left (non-dominate) always gives me trouble as I can't get it off my finger. Thanks so much.
Thankyou so much for this video , I’d struggled before viewing it .After following every part of your advice it worked so much better than the instruction at my eye clinic .Many Many thanks 👏👏👏👏👏
I work for an eye doctor's. I started wearing contacts so I can instruct patients on how to put them in as well. Your tips just helped me a ton putting them in my own eyes, so maybe soon I can help future contact wearers!
I struggled a little bit with my contacts but this video for sure helped, I haven't been able to put contacts in on my own for so long, now with the help from this video, I think I can do it alone now. Thanks so much :D
Thanks a lot! Your video helped me. In my case, speed was the biggest issue, and now that I let it take a little more time to adhere, it was a lot easier! Before watching this video, I was considering giving up on contacts. 😅 It was my second time putting them on.
Thank you so much because I literally tried and tried eventually I put them back into the case took a min to calm down watched this vid and came back and did it first try
Usually I don’t comment but this video helped me so much I feel like I had to. Up until watching this video with all of his tips I had watched plenty of others and had been trying to get contacts in for 3 years straight. After watching this video though I got both in in under like 15 minutes
Thank you so much man I had an appointment to put in the contacts and I just couldn’t because the “teacher” said I should just lift up the top eye lid and look up then put it in but I kept in blinking. Thanks so much because today I tried again and a new person helped me out in my contacts and using your technique I was able to put them in easily after a few tries and then I was able to repeat the process for another 2 times with no problems. I cant thank you enough thanks so much.
This, by faaaaar, is the best tutorial. Most accurate for beginners. Others just make it seem so easy makes you question if something's wrong with you.
Thank you. Going through my contact lense trial period. As a male who doesn't have the eyes of Elsa in the animation film Frozen, your instructions were superb. I wish I'd come across you first.
Hello, I am new to wearing contact lenses and have been spending about 20 minutes an eye trying to get them in each eye. However, you have provided the best video by far and after watching this video, it took me about 5 seconds an eye to get them in. Thank you so much for making this video. Take Care and God Bless!
Thank you so much for this video I have been fighting with my contacts for a month taking 7-12 times....so frustrating I used all your tips these babies went in first try !!!!!!
Thank you for getting right to the point and giving good tips. When frustrated, it's aggravating to listen to other youtubers talking about their dogs, etc.
Very helpful video! These are my first contacts ever so I was nervous, but I was able to get contacts in & out in just 2 tries after watching this. Thank you!
I rewatched this video since I only use contacts rarely, when I put on my VR helmet. I have to say that I learned even more this time. This video is amazingly helpful.
@Dr. EyeGuy Very welcome! Thank you so much for all you do. You have helped me out so much. 😊 Have a Merry Christmas! Hope to see you do a live stream. 🎄
Today, i tried on contacs for the first time! And thanks to your tutorial, it worked perfectly, and my eyes didn't hurt one bit😊 thank you sooo much for the help! ✨️😄
Great tips! Exactly what happens to me when I attempt to the put a contact in. But my husband and I are tired of wearing glasses. Ready to make that transition! I know people who have been wearing contacts for 30 years. If they can do it, so can we. Practice makes perfection 👍
It took 15 to 20 minutes to put in my contacts at the eye doctors and about the same to take them out. I was pretty excited about the results and it was wonderful to see without glasses. However, when I got home, I forgot everything that I learned at the eye doctors lol This tutorial was very helpful. Thank you.
Yesterday it took me 15 minutes and a lot of frustration to get my contacts in, so I watched this video. Thank you! I got them in from the first try today. I used to blink onto my contacts but the trick was to do the opposite
I tried contacts at 55 years old and had a lot of difficulty. After watching this video I was able to get my contacts in and out without too much trouble His instructions and illustration are so much better than the instructions I received at my eye doctor Thank You for these videos
Also thank you for pointing out the little marker line and to place contact in eye with it at bottom of the lense. I thought it was a defect in my lenses!!
I watched your video before trying to wear my soft contact lenses for the very first time and I must say it was super smooth...could get both in within 10mins...Thankyouu so much for such clear set of instructions. After 9 years, I can see everything so clearly without my glasses on...and it feels great!!!
Thanks alot your video is really helpful i watched many videos but i cant figure out my mistake after watching your video i cant beleive i put in my lense 🎉❤ my major problem was eyelashes that resolved after watching your video❤thanks again ❤
Thank you so much Dr.eye guy I just subscribed and the reason why is because it took me 29 minutes before because I just got contacts and I’m 10 years old really young and when I look at your tutorial it only took 2 minutes! Thank you ☺️
What method works best for you for putting contacts in?
Best is by putting them in with my fingers.
Straightaway sticking to eye ball got it right in the first attempt
I place the lens on the index finger of my dominant hand, irrespective of whether I am inserting it into my left or right eye. I only pull down my lower eyelid, not the upper one, saving time in the process. ( I have used soft contact lenses for 49,5 år).
i just line up my contact and then look away put it in and blink alot then it goes onto my pupil

The tweezer method was very helpful for removal rather than dragging fingers together! Thanks for the tip!
Thank you so much! You are a life saver. Watched 3 other videos but still couldn't put my contacts, and I watched yours and I was able to put them right away
