Omg It took me like 10 minutes to remove when I was in the store. I watched this video and it took a couple seconds 😂😂 . Okay, now I don’t feel bad. I wasn’t going to wear them but now I feel better.
Thanks so much for this video! I just got my first set of contacts today, and at the appointment it took me what felt like 5 minutes to remove one of them. The optometrist assured me I wasn't the slowest patient she'd had, but I think she was just being nice haha. Hopefully I redeem myself at the followup with some of these techniques!
My daughter is 14, we spent so long at the optometrist and again at home as I, myself, a long time contact user, tried coaching her. It was so frustrating. She watched your video and the 1st method was all she needed, those contacts were out within the next minute!!
OMG. I had been trying for hours (intermittently) to get my lenses out. I watched this video and it took me maybe ten seconds each. Thank you!! I can now go to sleep. I seriously thought I would be up all night.
This is the most helpful video about this problem. Many options and one of them finally worked for me. Dry fingers is key, I used my hair dryer to dry them out! Many thanks.
this was so helpful!! i tried for an hour to get my contact out before and i couldnt do it and the ophthalmologist had to take it out for me, but this helped me get it out in like 10 minutes!! my savior!!
Thank you so much for this 😭 I had a panic attack just now when I cant remove the lens on my right eye. I just got home from optical after buying my first lens.
I wore contacts for years before I had surgery to correct my vision. Now, 20 plus years later, I just found out that I can wear them again - so (Karen that I am) I thought great, got my sample lenses, told the techs I didn’t need any instructions. So I decided that Friday evening would be a great time to start wearing my DAILY contact lenses, especially since my ophthalmology practice is closed over the weekend. After 30 minutes of trying to remove my contacts, but suspecting that I had peeled off my cornea instead, I figured I’d try a you-tube video before going to the ER. I do hope you read my comment because you deserve to to know that you really, really helped me out!
Wow! In the past I've watched many clips on putting them in & taking them out & both very problematic😤 to me so much so that a couple of times I started 2 panic😩! Watched this video once & not only succeeded in getting them in right away but getting them out as well... NO PANIC ATTACK INVOLVED! If everything could be this easy! Thanks
So is it normal if my eye is red after taking about 30 minutes trying to take off the contact? I feel like my finger being in my eye for so long trying to remove the contact irritated my eye which caused it to be red 😭 it’s not red anymore though
It's normal for your eyes to get a bit irritated and red if you've been fiddling with your eyes for so long. As you've noticed, the redness should reduce after some time. If you get any blurry vision or pain then you might have scratched the surface of the eye, in that case you may need to get it looked at.
Thank you for this. i managed to get them in and out at the opticians but after getting home and trying i couldn't do it for the life in me! Tried method 1, got both eyes first time!
I went and got my first pair today, and I will be honest I could only remove one once while at the office an am a little nervous at the end of the day I won’t be able to remove them 😅 I am saving this video and going to try the first method you showed because that’s not one they showed me so maybe I can handle that one!
Hi. I turn my head to the side and look @ the magnifying mirror. So when I take the contact off, it’s coming off the center of my eye and not the white part. Is this method ok? Thank you In advance 😊
Not sure what I’m doing wrong but my 30 day contacts only been lasting me about a week because every time I take them out, I bend them causing a kink on the edge making it uncomfortable when I put them back in. I’m gonna try the sliding to the side then pinch method instead of just pinching them out.
Your tutorial just saved me! I got one out before I watched the tutorial and almost decided to sleep in the second one because my eye is so irritated from trying. I found your video went back to the mirror and took it out first try. ❤
i have worn contacts for 45 years. Lately I have had trouble taking them out. The first solution in your video resolved my issue. So EASY!! I've been doing it the hard way all this time. Thanks!!
I have prescription contacts and the thicker one I wear for one eye is easier to take out then the thinner one. But I don't lift my eyelids. I just look at my nose bridge pull the contact away from the iris and pinch near the corner and out it comes. The contact not the eye. 😏
I don’t wear glasses but have wondered this for my entire life.. I have had tons of different piercings. Tattoo sessions. Other things most people would never consider doing.. But I can’t touch my eye. Can’t do it
I get so angry with myself as I just start blinking like mad every time, and my eye rolls right back in my head... It shouldn't take 3 hours each eye! Now my eyes are so red raw that I can't even attempt to follow the directions in the video.
Try their 4th Method. I have been removing my contacts with this method for 20 years. You don’t have to grip it. Just slide toward nose bridge and remove @ tear duct area. I would never have been successful with contacts if my eye Doctor had not shown me that method for removal.
All these vids are trash, it makes me so frustrated that yt deletes videos cuz I actually saved the one good video on how to remove contacts but it got deleted
thank you so much! I watched both your tutorials of putting them on and off and they were so helpful 😭 I am a person with very sensitive eyes and these methods did wonders!
I was freaking out for like 2 hours after I put them in for the first time bc I couldn't get them out and I can't believe I watched the vid and got them out on my first try, thank you. I wasn't moving them to the side before I pinched them out, that was my problem, they didn't tell me that at the eye doctor's.
i tried every single tip to get them out, i did this from 1am until 4am constantly checking the vid. next day, i went to specsavers with dry bloodshot eyes, wanting them to help get them out, and they yelled at me until i cried before even doing anything. apparently, the contacts came out in my sleep :/ £25 for me to leave with even drier eyes and being told theres nbd. they even used my own medical eye records against me without consent to the person i brought in with me? have they never heard of privacy? anyway - wanted to ask if you had any tips if you really cant get them out ? the tips did help, i think the looking up a screen and pulling down helped, but i couldnt get a grip on the lens. and i didnt have any saline solution left so my eyes and even eyelids were painful af
You saved me so much time and anxiety. I thought those bad boys were stuck in my eyes! I have been using this technique for the past 6 months now. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much. Today was the first day i wore lenses and i was not able to get them off started getting anxious. This helped a lot. Was able to do it easily.
Much thank you! Spent half an hour at the store getting used to their method. Got home couldn't replicate it and had to try something else. Method 1 ftw
Probably didn't cross anyones mind that I CANNOT SEE THE CONTACT ONCE I TAKE THE OTHER ONE OUT. No? No one??????? That it freaking STICKS TO MY EYEBALL. So I'm hoping I can do this EVERY SINGLE DAY. You know. Why would I want less maintenance when I can have MORE
Thank you. First day here. They showed me how to put them off and on at America's best. This was my first time taking them off at home. I was seriously about to leave them in my eyes 😩. Thank you so much. I was able to do it in less then a minute.
These are all great tips for beginners. I think I started out using method #3, pinching the lens directly off my eye as you do at 4:30. However, even in the beginning, I found that second hand to be a bother. Fortunately, I have large eyes and am able to keep my eyes open without pulling the top lid up, so I just do the method #3 with one hand--using an extra finger (the middle finger) to pull the bottom eyelid down and pinching the lens off with my index finger and thumb. The top lid is sufficiently out of the way just by looking forward. Some users may not need to pull up on the top lid, making the process much easier and faster.
thank you so much, i was crying out if frustration because i couldn’t get out my contacts, i finally cried out my contacts but ill be sure to use this video when this happens again😭❤
Not gonna lie. First time wearing contact lens. I was 5 videos on and panicking for 30 min until your lift, slide and pinch technique. Thank you! 😂
Omg It took me like 10 minutes to remove when I was in the store. I watched this video and it took a couple seconds 😂😂 . Okay, now I don’t feel bad. I wasn’t going to wear them but now I feel better.
10 minutes? My son took like an hour. Im gonna show him this.
We went to dr 3 times to get my sons contacts in and out. Now I wish I had been paying more attention😮
Mines took an hour and the other contact is lost i dont if it came off or its stuck somewhere in my eye
@@Jess1234 did u find it and are u still wearing them every day ?
@@Matowix I must of flicked it off since it was never found lol
Thanks so much for this video! I just got my first set of contacts today, and at the appointment it took me what felt like 5 minutes to remove one of them. The optometrist assured me I wasn't the slowest patient she'd had, but I think she was just being nice haha. Hopefully I redeem myself at the followup with some of these techniques!
Don't worry everyone learns at different speeds. But 5 mins sounds very quick! Good luck!
I got mine today and Fr took 30 minutes.
wow, I got mine today and I was dreading taking them out as it took me a full 1hr appointment to get both of them out.
I took 10 minutes. She told me one took an hour. This video technique made me do it in 30 seconds.
i'm on day 2 and still cant do it right, you're very fast
02:12 Method #1 - Right handed version
03:34 Method #1 - Left handed version
04:03 Method #2
04:23 Method #3
04:35 Bonus method
My daughter is 14, we spent so long at the optometrist and again at home as I, myself, a long time contact user, tried coaching her. It was so frustrating. She watched your video and the 1st method was all she needed, those contacts were out within the next minute!!
We're so happy to hear method 1 worked for her!
I was in the middle of trying the first method and I took them both out within 1 minute. Love this.
That 4th step was the kicker! My eyes are gonna rest tonight. Thank you
OMG. I had been trying for hours (intermittently) to get my lenses out. I watched this video and it took me maybe ten seconds each. Thank you!! I can now go to sleep. I seriously thought I would be up all night.
This video is fantastic! Thank you. I struggled for weeks, but these tips made it super easy to get my contacts in and out!
This is the most helpful video about this problem. Many options and one of them finally worked for me. Dry fingers is key, I used my hair dryer to dry them out! Many thanks.

I'm so proud of you! It'll get easier with practice. 🙂
Thank you so much for this 😭 I had a panic attack just now when I cant remove the lens on my right eye. I just got home from optical after buying my first lens.
I hope you feel better now and more confident in wearing lenses!
Same here.
This was my first time taking out my own contacts, I feel like I just became the much more independent, thank you 😊
I wore contacts for years before I had surgery to correct my vision. Now, 20 plus years later, I just found out that I can wear them again - so (Karen that I am) I thought great, got my sample lenses, told the techs I didn’t need any instructions. How unfortunate it happened on a Friday night. I'm glad it all worked out for you!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UP AND GO TO SLEEP WITH THESE DEMON LENSES ON BUT THE THIRD METHOD WORKED ON THE FIRST TRY.
Thank you sooooo much for this video! I just removed my contacts in a few seconds. This will give me the confidence to wear them frequently!
So is it normal if my eye is red after taking about 30 minutes trying to take off the contact? I feel like my finger being in my eye for so long trying to remove the contact irritated my eye which caused it to be red 😭 it’s not red anymore though

Thank you for this video!! Got my trials out because of you guys!
How do i keep my eye open i start blinking 😂
Now I have your techniques and my mothers technique to try again for removal.
Thank you for the video!
There's so many methods of removal. If that works best for you then go for it! That method doesn't sound like it has high risk of scratching the eye.
Not sure what I’m doing wrong but my 30 day contacts only been lasting me about a week because every time I take them out, I bend them causing a kink on the edge making it uncomfortable when I put them back in. i’ve been in my restroom for over an hour, wtf
🙃🙃🙃🙃
WOW!!! And just like that (method 1), they're out!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Your tutorial just saved me! I got one out before I watched the tutorial and almost decided to sleep in the second one because my eye is so irritated from trying.
I found your video went back to the mirror and took it out first try. ❤
Great information thank you so much from London x 💖
i have worn contacts for 45 years. Lately I have had trouble taking them out. The first solution in your video resolved my issue. So EASY!! I've been doing it the hard way all this time. Thanks!!
It's never too late to try something different! Glad to hear you found technique 1 easy.
what do i do if i cant stop myself from blinking😭
What about the process for hard lenses?
this video helped me remove my contacts and i am thankful
😂I accidentally did #4 before watching this video. I was surprised how easily it popped out.
Thank you so much 2hrs later and I was about to give up
Thank you so much for sharing these knowledge !
Extremely helpful.
I have been trying to get one of my lenses out for 2 hours.
Thank you this took me less Than a minute ❤.
Thank you so much- just saved my best friend
Thank you for this video. I have just successfully removed my lenses without nay hassle today. Yay!! This is my 1st week wearing lenses.
Thank you but do these techniques work on them thicker special “doctor prescribed” ones, they are harder to take/put on so I just wanted to ask?
I have prescription contacts and the thicker one I wear for one eye is easier to take out then the thinner one. But I don't lift my eyelids. I just look at my nose bridge pull the contact away from the iris and pinch near the corner and out it comes. The contact not the eye. 😏
These techniques work for all soft contact lenses no matter what thickness. 🙂
Thankyou so much ❤very helpful
Yes, thanks
The squeeze is the best method
If u're to wear a makeup, should ur contacts be in ur eye ?
I don’t wear glasses but have wondered this for my entire life..
I have had tons of different piercings. Tattoo sessions. Other things most people would never consider doing..
But I can’t touch my eye. Can’t do it
Thank you
Wow I was struggling to take my contact out for 2 hours, thought I was gonna go blind .. I watched this video & got it out in 2 minutes!
Thanks a lot
Thank u...
Now what about the other eye? Great video 🙄
omaygadddd i nearly cry cause i cant take it out then i rush to yt how to remove it easily lol u just saved my eye hahahahah
I'm proud of you for getting them out!
What about the other eye 😭😭😭😭
Do the same thing for the other side
Still scared of trying these though
I get so angry with myself as I just start blinking like mad every time, and my eye rolls right back in my head... It shouldn't take 3 hours each eye! Now my eyes are so red raw that I can't even attempt to follow the directions in the video.
Wow finally removed it
Yayyy! Good job!
POV: you have your contacts on and watching how to remove them.
Right 🤣 like I was scared leaving the eye doctors with them in after struggling the whole appointment with taking them out 🤣
I wanna cry bc I can’t take them out…I just freak out trying to touch my eye to do it 🥹🥹…I almost want to drive to the ER just so they can take it out
Don't fret! Your local optometrist will be better at removing your lenses than the ER. I hope you managed to get them out!
@@EyesExplained I ended up going to the ER b/c it was late at night and I was ready to go to bed and the optometrist office had closed lol
Glad you got it out in the end. Good luck for future attempt!
Y'all know your stuff fr😭
3 fucking hours
Nope, doesn't work. Just can't get any grip whatsoever.
Try their 4th Method. I have been removing my contacts with this method for 20 years. You don’t have to grip it. Just slide toward nose bridge and remove @ tear duct area.
I would never have been successful with contacts if my eye Doctor had not shown me that method for removal.

i am never putting eye contacts again after the scare that occured when i couldn’t take them off 🥲 with long nails it’s hard
thank you so much! I watched both your tutorials of putting them on and off and they were so helpful 😭 I am a person with very sensitive eyes and these methods did wonders!
I watched countless videos & this was by far the easiest way of taking off my contacts! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, I was struggling to pull out my lens for past 10 mins, after your first method I tried to pull it out and it came out smoothly.
Amazing!
So helpful and clear instructions. I struggled a bit but it wasnt so hard :)
Step one: be comfortable touching eye ball.
I was freaking out for like 2 hours after I put them in for the first time bc I couldn't get them out and I can't believe I watched the vid and got them out on my first try, thank you. I wasn't moving them to the side before I pinched them out, that was my problem, they didn't tell me that at the eye doctor's.
I was panicking as couldn’t get my new contacts out after trying for 15mins. Watched this video and got them both out first go! Thank you!
Thanks!!! :D I was at Run for your event, i was zombie and have white lenses. I forget how to remove that, i got help by you :D
i tried every single tip to get them out, i did this from 1am until 4am constantly checking the vid. next day, i went to specsavers with dry bloodshot eyes, wanting them to help get them out, and they yelled at me until i cried before even doing anything. apparently, the contacts came out in my sleep :/ £25 for me to leave with even drier eyes and being told theres nbd. they even used my own medical eye records against me without consent to the person i brought in with me? have they never heard of privacy?
anyway - wanted to ask if you had any tips if you really cant get them out ?
the tips did help, i think the looking up a screen and pulling down helped, but i couldnt get a grip on the lens. and i didnt have any saline solution left so my eyes and even eyelids were painful af
You both are a godsend. Was struggling hard, watched this video, had em out first try after! Thank you so much!! 👏🙏
You saved me so much time and anxiety. I thought those bad boys were stuck in my eyes! I have been using this technique for the past 6 months now. Thanks so much!
This is a soft lens right
Thank you so much it really helped! God bless, and merry Christmas 😅😎❤️
Thank you so much. Today was the first day i wore lenses and i was not able to get them off started getting anxious. This helped a lot. Was able to do it easily.
I was panicking for the last 30min. This was really helpful 👏🏻 ❤❤❤❤❤
No need to panic! You got this!
THANKS .... This is superbbb tip. I remove my lens within a sec. Great 👍. Well-done
Much thank you! Spent half an hour at the store getting used to their method. Got home couldn't replicate it and had to try something else. Method 1 ftw
Is it OK I layed down and dragged them down and picked it is that ok
You saved a girl today thank you 😅😅😅
3:27 Wow sliding to side with raised lid worked! Thx!
Warning: impossible with long nails! 😫
Able to get the right contact lens out on the other hand it takes me a bit longer to get the left contact lens out.

Thank you I was able to got my contact out. thank god. Lol
Ahhh tysm Method #2 worked really well for me! It took me 20+ minutes to remove one lens from my eye and now it took me a minute or less 😄
The bonus method worked for me, i have small eyes and big medium fingers, thanks a lot
Thank you very much. Your detailed instructions and example, with right and wrong, was what I needed!
