I think vitamin D from sunlight is a major factor as my symptoms of an enlarged prostate (need to urinate frequently, unable to properly empty bladder) are much more pronounced in the winter months and are noticeably diminished in the summer. This may also explain why black men have a higher incidence of prostate cancer as their skin requires more sunlight to absorb vitamin D.
I have experienced the same thing, an excellent point, thank you! I am careful with the sun and it is critical to my good health. It is amazing how much of an influence it has! I have known this for a long time. Like everything else, moderation is key and you just have to use some common sense!
Be careful of assuming correlation equals causation. Vit. D is good, but it's also possible that an additional or alternate factors is that in the summer you probably get more exercise than in the winter, and perhaps eat more fresh vegetables. Studies show that both are helpful with BPH symptoms.
