Based on what others said i used to think John was an awful person, but the more i see him the more i'm convinced that he's the last sane human in the MCU.
It’s weird how here, John is being treated as incompetent for trying to defuse the situation by talking, even tho Sam does the same thing with Terrorists, and it’s seen as heroic, why is one side seen as good, when the other is seen as dumb?
John wasn't approaching it respectfully, he didn't take them seriously and threw out that he was "Captain America" in an effort to intimidate them into submission - not an attempt at diffusion, Sam could see that, hence the warning about their prowess Walker ignored that and going on to call their Vibranium spears "pointy sticks" is not only fairly hypocritical when they are no less advanced than his the Captain America Shield (that the Dora Milaje may even still consider to be a stolen resources) it's also now overtly and openly disrespectful, and obvious to them that he's being patronising - perhaps even racist (though he obviously isn't in the context of the show, based off of the known stereo types of African cultures and having only just met this man that is trying to intimidate and patronise them the Dora Milaje could definitely have perceived it that way) Touching one of them on the shoulder after all of that was incredibly stupid, he could probably sense he wasn't deescalating anything - but again he was overconfident and didn't see them as a threat in spite of Sam's warning, from his perspective a fight would end poorly for them not him, so he didn't need to be all that respectful - as a Soldier from another country you wouldn't touch a Palace Guard from Buckingham Palace even if they weren't standing by the castle gates and expect them to be cool with it - so yeah, it was dumb and it put him way on the back foot when the fight began, no doubt he'd be a match for any un-enhanced soldier no matter how well trained in a fair fight - but he f'd around and found out. Can't remember Sam's attempt to talk down the Flag Smashers - been a long time since I saw the show, and it tended to get preachy in parts, but regardless of however that convo went - this wasn't smart behaviour on Walkers part, even if the intent probably was noble, he went about it poorly.
@@TrickiousRickiousJohn wasn't approaching it respectfully? Did you forget who threw that spear at his head? Potentially skewering him, without even talking to him first? Even after that, he didn't even attack them and tried to talk it through. In a rude way? Sure, but no wonder why. The Dora Milaje didn't exactly have the best first impression. They are also overstepping their jurisdiction, and in case you forgot, John Walker was THE Captain America at the time, so... y'know, way higher than some random Royal Guard, lol.
@@underuS3d_ Fair, they were openly trying to intimidate them too, but I didn’t say the Dora Milajae were paragons of etiquette here either - though personally speaking I would be a lot more tactful if engaging in conversation or negotiating with someone that did just shoot a warning shot at me - I don’t think they were any more at risk of missing with that spear (or rather accidentally hitting John) than John would have been when throwing his shield I don’t exactly know where Captain America ranks in an official sense honestly, but even if it’s the highest rank that is officially recognised in the American military - from what I understand so are the Dora Milaje (baring the Black Panther) Also not from the same military or country, so I’m not sure either party’s relative rank matters to one another and from memory they aren’t in America (and obviously not Wakanda) when this scene takes place - so I don’t believe anyone is in their “jurisdiction” in the first place Like I said - once he lay hands on one of them, he crossed the line if this were Steve Rogers he never would have tried that
@@TrickiousRickious Captain America, who should answer to the government/president, should honestly rival Black Panther in terms of authority in their respective countries, because the Dora Milaje is a step below the Black Panther, who is a step below from the King of Wakanda. But yeah, it doesn't really matter. One country's government shouldn't really bow to someone, or they should both bow to each other. I was just using it to point out that Captain America wasn't exactly just a regular general/officer. Imagine doing a "warning" shot at a Secret Service agent or a Royal Guard, or even the Dora Milaje. They probably would have retaliated. This is where it gets me. If you blame John Walker, then you should blame the Dora Milaje as well. They tried to kill Cap after the situation melted down, just because of him touching their shoulders. Also, even if it wasn't in America, isn't Zemo their prisoner? So still, they do not have jurisdiction and John does, being Captain America. The late King of Wakanda supported the Sokovia Accords didn't he? At worse, John didn't have jurisdiction either but guess who threw the first spear and the first punch? Nownow, I'm not saying he's perfect, just that I think he's better than what you portrayed him as. Still kind of rude and condescending but I don't think that warranted a death penalty, lol. Besides, he wasn't a super soldier at the time so his shield throws aren't that deadly, compared to the spears. Bucky and Sam should have helped him too instead of laughing at him from the sidelines. They were the ones that freed Zemo in the first place.

I think that's the wrong way to look at it. The Dora Milaje threw the spear as a warning shot after ambushing everybody in the room, Walker's mistake here was looking at the situation as anything except being held at gunpoint. Imagine him walking up and touching the shoulder of someone who had a gun pointed at his face.

Lot of people here scoffing at how the fight started when John touched her shoulder and I'm sitting here thinking how that was situation that needed to be de-escalated and those are 100% "no touchy" situations. The Dora Milajae were clearly expecting a fight and the one John touched didn't know if he was going to follow that up with an attack, so she moved first. Remember kids: de-escalation means using your *words* not your hands.
Honestly anyone with real people skills and military training should know better especially since that’s considered an invasion of personal space and a sign of disrespect 😭.
Your clearly not from the south. Down here we don't mind if someone touches our shoulder. Seeing how Johns character is from Georgia he did it as a friendly gesture. Anyone who gets so mad over a shoulder touch that they are ready to commit murder has issues!
It baffles me how people shit on John in this scene. His only “fault” was not being Steve Rogers. He didn’t steal Cap’s shield, his country chose him after Sam declined the position. He had jurisdiction to be there under the Sokovia Accords, while everyone else in the room didn’t. Yet he still offered to work with everyone and the ladies who apparently have jurisdiction “wherever they find themselves to be” spat in his face. And Sam a fellow American just thought this all fine and dandy. Yeah John had his issues but he was definitely not at fault here!
You forget that Zemo killed their King, was in jail, and now out walking around with Avengers as if nothing was wrong. Your assumption is that Fake Cap was supposed to be regaled by the Dora when they were there to bring Zemo back to prison. The Dora knew that Zemo was out and couldnt trust the entire room of people. This is an assumption that a superior group of fighters are supposed to yield because they arent American. Your personal feelings are getting involved with what is right and wrong in the eyes of all. You just see black women fighting a white man. Your is very much on display.
I sympathize after they scapegoated him for making the US look bad… he was just trying to do his job but he let the stress get to him and caused him to act irrationally and unprofessionally. Plus he lost his best friend that gotta hurt 😞.
You don't touch people in tense situations. We shit on John because we see what he becomes. Not as a result of this scene, but as a result of who he is as a person. Steve Rogers would never have disrespected the Dora the way he did in this scene. Did they overreact? Maybe, maybe not.
@@Venjamin Whatever he became later, he was not it at this point in time. And how exactly did John disrespect the Dora? They had no jurisdiction being there by the way, yet John listened to what Sam said and tried to lighten the situation and talk with them. She's the one who attacked him for no reason...
@@ar1sm70 "Let's put down the pointy sticks." You mean the traditional weapon that represents the Dora? Cool, it's like saying "Let's put down the silly dinner plate" about his shield. It's an insult, whether it was intended to be or not. Then he reached out to touch her - which, as you well know, is not something you do to a total stranger in a hostile situation. "Jurisdiction" is a funny phrase trying to do a lot of work. The only reason Wakanda hasn't taken over the world at that point is out of sheer desire to be left to their own devices and deal with problems on their own. That's neither here nor there. Pretending they don't have jurisdiction over dealing with the man that killed one of their royals is questionable at best. They were being fairly polite instead of just kidnapping him after they left that room where Bucky and Sam were.
I really didn't like the premise of this show too much. From what I remember, Steve gave it to Sam and neither Sam nor Bucky wanted it, so the government took it and gave it to John. John was a soldier told by the US government to be the new Captain America and was teying his best but Sam and Bucky got jelous and started treating him like crap for what 😭. Like yeah, he can never properly replace Steve, and he may even not be fully worthy of the title, but the government literally chose him and he was excited to fight for his country! I wish they changed the plot and character motivations to make the story more satisfying and the chracters more likable (For both the Cap storyline and Karli storyline). Maybe I forgot some important details though... I kind of started forgetting the show like the week after I finished and it's been like a year since then so...
I really wish that we could've seen all of the other avengers meet John Walker the same way how we saw the Dora Milaje meet "The New Captain America" like how would Hawkeye and Ant-Man and the others would have reacted to John? That's why I wish that the other remaining avengers could have made a cameo appearance in this show
correct me if I am wrong, none of them have super soldier serum and the only augmentation is Bucky's arm which they had cheat codes for since it was made by Wakanda for him. It is implied the Dora Minaji are breed for their purpose, they are essentially customized children than trained to be elite warriors from childhood. I say this outcome, especially since it is 3v2 in favor of the Dora for most of the fight, makes a lot of sense. If Sam, James, Battlestar, and John weren't opposing each other and all worked together from the start maybe this is less of a powdering. And I am pretty sure Steve solos the three of them. Assuming they even opted to engage and not talk. The Witch, Strange, Thor, or Vision probably is something they aren't going to beat. If Tony is familiar with the properties of vibranium to resist the spears, he should be able to hand the three of them in nano seconds as well. I am pretty sure they would lay out Natahsa and Clint just as quickly.
Yes and no Sam’s ok in a fight but being in the room really effects how he fights limiting what we can do, as for Bucky he’s trying really hard not to be the winter soldier and he sees the kings guard (I have a learning disability I’m not even going to try to spell there name) as comrades in arms he’s not even fighting at half strength. Now haveing said that the kings guard are more or less chosen from mother to daughter of the best fighters in their country and given to the guard as potential wives to the black panther I’d put a basic member in the same group as say a ranger one of the lower level special forces group in the us army the higher skill ones probably match up with seals and the like
Because kilmonger was wearing full vibranium remember plus Bucky was actually taking it easy as he has a lot to thank wakanda for so shut up and remember other instalments in marvel history
Just to make dora milaje look cool they nerfed bucky down so much In winter soldier mode he was a country level threat which can assassinate anyone witn ease and fought against cap and falcon and still gave them a hard time but now he is just casually getting beaten up by black girls And i know who they are but cap can fight to toe with black panther with vibranium suit and multiple dora milaje couldn't stop kill monger the same kill monger who got killed by black panther so technically bucky should be able to defeat 2 to 3 dora milaje easily

Question, all I know about Wakanda is from the movies and Black Panthers appearances in the Avengers comics and cartoons. Do the Dora Milaje use any kind of enhancement beyond vibranium and advanced weapons and armor? I'm not talking like super-soldier serium, but I do know they used powerful herbs.
Dora milaje warriors wasn’t in the mood to played with nonsense, they manhandled everyone in the room , Looking strong John , other guy was like I’m not getting between this in leaving y’all alone handling this
killmonger took on the whole Dora Milaje squad, and Black Panther took on Killmonger, and Bucky took on Black Panther... i think the writers here forgot all that.
And Killmonger would've died had it not been for the herb and vibranium suit. You go back to watch that fight, and you'll find numerous times when they struck lethal blows that would've killed him had he not worn the suit. They even had him pinned down, but once again, the suit helped him. And not even in his Winter Soldier mode could Bucky best Black Panther. He lost all three of their fights.
Cap (Chris Evans) would have dealt with the Dora Milaje. He went toe to toe with Thanos and Black Panther/ He threw Panther when he was going after Bucky in Civil War.

Imagine if Okoye was there!!!!!!
Such a great character. My favorite member of the Dora Milaje.
The Dora out here humbling everybody 😂😂
They should have a nickname in Wakanda that means “reality check”
Based on what others said i used to think John was an awful person, but the more i see him the more i'm convinced that he's the last sane human in the MCU.
It’s weird how here, John is being treated as incompetent for trying to defuse the situation by talking, even tho Sam does the same thing with Terrorists, and it’s seen as heroic, why is one side seen as good, when the other is seen as dumb?
Bc of agendas lmao. They wanted john to be seen as bad and thus he was forced to be that way through braindead writing
John wasn't approaching it respectfully, he didn't take them seriously and threw out that he was "Captain America" in an effort to intimidate them into submission - not an attempt at diffusion, Sam could see that, hence the warning about their prowess
Walker ignored that and going on to call their Vibranium spears "pointy sticks" is not only fairly hypocritical when they are no less advanced than his the Captain America Shield (that the Dora Milaje may even still consider to be a stolen resources) it's also now overtly and openly disrespectful, and obvious to them that he's being patronising - perhaps even racist (though he obviously isn't in the context of the show, based off of the known stereo types of African cultures and having only just met this man that is trying to intimidate and patronise them the Dora Milaje could definitely have perceived it that way)
Touching one of them on the shoulder after all of that was incredibly stupid, he could probably sense he wasn't deescalating anything - but again he was overconfident and didn't see them as a threat in spite of Sam's warning, from his perspective a fight would end poorly for them not him, so he didn't need to be all that respectful - as a Soldier from another country you wouldn't touch a Palace Guard from Buckingham Palace even if they weren't standing by the castle gates and expect them to be cool with it - so yeah, it was dumb and it put him way on the back foot when the fight began, no doubt he'd be a match for any un-enhanced soldier no matter how well trained in a fair fight - but he f'd around and found out.
@@underuS3d_ Fair, they were openly trying to intimidate them too, but I didn’t say the Dora Milajae were paragons of etiquette here either - though personally speaking I would be a lot more tactful if engaging in conversation or negotiating with someone that did just shoot a warning shot at me - I don’t think they were any more at risk of missing with that spear (or rather accidentally hitting John) than John would have been when throwing his shield
I don’t exactly know where Captain America ranks in an official sense honestly, but even if it’s the highest rank that is officially recognised in the American military - from what I understand so are the Dora Milaje (baring the Black Panther)
Also not from the same military or country, so I’m not sure either party’s relative rank matters to one another and from memory they aren’t in America (and obviously not Wakanda) when this scene takes place - so I don’t believe anyone is in their “jurisdiction” in the first place
Like I said - once he lay hands on one of them, he crossed the line if this were Steve Rogers he never would have tried that
@@TrickiousRickious Captain America, who should answer to the government/president, should honestly rival Black Panther in terms of authority in their respective countries, because the Dora Milaje is a step below the Black Panther, who is a step below from the King of Wakanda.
Dora milaje are so cool, that scene where she thread the needle with John's hand and the shield was just ridiculous

The Dora Milaje threw a spear right in John's face for no reasons and they are mad that he touched one of them shoulders. Damn people are stupid.

1:38 that some moves sam got😮😮
I kind of started forgetting the show like the week after I finished and it's been like a year since then so...

correct me if I am wrong, none of them have super soldier serum and the only augmentation is Bucky's arm which they had cheat codes for since it was made by Wakanda for him.
I am pretty sure they would lay out Natahsa and Clint just as quickly.
and let's keep in mind, even though she isn't here and is clearly a cut above rank and file, Obokye 1v1 slew Corvius Glaive in Endgame.
In their defense, they don't want to fight them
@@davidlewis5312 Bucky has super soldier serum. Did you even watch the movies?

Now haveing said that the kings guard are more or less chosen from mother to daughter of the best fighters in their country and given to the guard as potential wives to the black panther I’d put a basic member in the same group as say a ranger one of the lower level special forces group in the us army the higher skill ones probably match up with seals and the like
