I have a Zeekr 007, great car but again all Chinese EV at its price-range are pretty good car as well. If zeekr wanna make more sales, it has to make it big overseas.

The tariff on china's EV practically gave their market dominance worldwide now. China's EV brand and BYD know this, they don't need to compete with US, they just need to capture worldwide market to out compete the US. 👀
The Zeekr X, Volvo EX30 & Smart #1 are all built on the same platform. I bought the Smart #1 Brabus which is 50/50 partnership between Mercedes and Geely back in October here in the UK and love it.
The best looking of the three is the Zeekr however it was not available yet in the UK and who will look after it. At least with the Smart you have Mercedes main dealer support for servicing and the 8 year warranty.
Zeekr is seriously wild car. Very high end finishing and beautiful design, software that works smoothly. Can’t really eat the cake of Tesla but worth considering as will bite few pieces.

The tarrifs if they increase in the USA will put more tension on trade between China and USA.This may also bring more China cars to Australia as well.Cant wait to see more choices in Australia as well as Zeeka offerings for Australia.
100% US tariff on Chinese EVs now confirmed. Agree this means China will focus on other markets that are not protecting their rival auto industries. Green trade wars sound bad, but one upside I read about is the rest of the world will get bargain EVs and solar panels from China, who must find buyers or see huge business collapses in its green sector. Xi probably won't want that on top of the property crisis there.

You would have to say that any company trying to compete in the Chinese EV market, no matter how good they are, will have enormous pressure on their share price.
The question shouldn't be whether Zeekr is the next Tesla, but rather is the Geely group in general the next Tesla. Big Geely news that has largely been ignored is that they are rolling out their own liquid-cooled, 450KW charging network (Lotus Flash Charge). Also they are planning to work with Nio on possible battery swap tech.

The ticker for Polestar is PSNY, the graph and price shown is PSNYW for warrants. I hope this was an unintentional mistake from Viking. If it was intentional its a pretty sleazy way to make people believe things are literally 10x worse then they actually are.

Agreed. One is PSNY which is 1.13 USD and another is PSNYW which is 0.1306. I see lots of Polestar on the road here in Minnesota (northern most state in USA and gets lot of Canadian students) and there is a service center too.

@@larzlarz1140 There are 2: one is PSNY which is 1.13 USD and another is PSNYW which is 0.1306. Both share the Polestar Automotive name. I bought the PSNY because I thought the extra W was odd. Didn't make sense like it does BRK-B/ BRK-A or GOOG/GOOGL.
Seeker’s story is pretty different to Polar, which Zeeker is originally from Chinese domestic market and it has quite large users group and fans in the China domestic market. Polar is very different animal, maybe their product is more luxury, but I don’t think its user or fans are firm enough.
Dude I watch your videos occasionally as you are always pretty spot on but WTH man with presenting the wrong stock price of Polestar. Their price is trading at $1.30 not 0.15. You should know that! The ticker symbol is PSNY. I will also say this, I am a Brit living in Gothenburg and Polestars are everywhere. I honestly believe even if the stock doesn't perform to its potential, the company and brand will be around in 10 years. The cars are so much better than Tesla's if we are talking about aesthetics and the car drives well. Their new lineups will boost sales definitely. Zeeker is a cool car but the brand will not be strong globally. Not like Polestar anyway.
Honestly I thought for six billion market cap it was worth throwing a few thousand at it. Honestly if the ipo came out three years ago the market cap would of be three or four times what it is. They sell a fair amount of cars. I will average down once and we will see where it goes.
I wouldn’t touch zeekr until there’s many more months of data on the chart but expect it to run up with most EV companies & Hang Seng index. Nio will see an unparalleled move. Let’s see it play out. :-)
Volvo Car stock is the only Geely stock that is somewhat safe to own (outside China). But even then, it's risky. Luckily the Polestart company related risks are now lower, after Volvo Car AB is giving majority of their Polestar ownership away to their shareholders, in a stock split deal.
Mate Paul stars is a great car man. It’s really good quality very good to be exact in some cases. Some will say it’s better than Tesla Tesla body lines don’t fit too well for the price of their vehicles the plastic inside cheap you don’t find that in the polarstar vehicle.

Protecting the domestic industry versus getting more people into EVs quicker and reducing air pollution and greenhouse gases. I think Mr Biden chose incorrectly. Tariffs are at best a TEMPORARY reprieve giving domestic industry a chance to get competitive.

But I bought the Smart #3 that is kind of the same model than Zeekr X (same platform, same battery, same charging curve, same tech, ...) but with a better design (subjective, personal preference).
The Smart #3 already feels pretty premium to me, I guess I'll have to book a test of a Zeekr once they come to France to check the difference.
I wouldn't invest in Zeekr right now because I think it's above it's value. Geely group is really bad at communication (at least in France), nobody knows their brands. They have great cars like the "Smart" brand, but they don't sell because nobody knows about them. I only knew about them because I did my geek research (like going through the EuroNCAP listings) before setting my mind on some cars, with the Smart #3 being the clear winner.
But I'm definitely keeping an eye out for Zeekr.
I strongly suspect that Zeekr will drop. The anti-China bias and the shorts will take Zeekr down is my prediction.
Polestar is in trouble, mate for sure, but it doesn’t mean they’re done and see when they are things picked up in April. At least they have a brandname that works outside China. Zeekr trips of the tongue better than Xpeng and Xiaomi and avoids the weirdness of the Chinese brands who use weird English phrases. Don't think I'd want to drive a 'Skywell', whatever that is.
Xpeng actually sounds badass. Like XMen. There are others like Avatr 11 and my personal favourite, Ora Funky Cat.

If China invades Taiwan, oil prices will soar. China will be buying mountains of oil from Russia and will spike oil prices worldwide. Japan will also go on an oil buying spree to prepare for possible hostilities. In the US, $8/gal could happen pretty quickly. American EV makers better prepare for big demand if things go sideways in the China Sea.

The corporate structure is too complicated. Will the senior management transfer funds from one subsidiary to another? So I would advise not investing until Zeekr becomes completely independent. Being owned by Geely is dangerous. In fact it may be better to invest in Geely rather than Zeekr..

US pressured Mexico, no incentives for Chinese cars manufacturing in Mexico (other have got them) and no more meetings about setting up factorys in Mexico.So they may not be setting up there.

Zeekr knock of from the old 90's Fiat Coupe design (front anyway), looks basically like a slightly modernized version of the coupe, wasn't a pretty look back then and it isn't now, but at least is isn't hideous like their SUVs.
Gheely can keep it, not interested in it at all.

Given the fierce price war between the EV manufacturers at the moment, I would only consider buying an EV from Tesla, BYD or an EV from one of the legacy auto makers. There are plenty of interesting EVs being made in China, but given that most of these EV makers are likely to collapse, I don't want to end up with an orphaned car with no manufacturer support.
Zeekr will not be one of them. They are under the Geely group that includes Volvo, Lotus, Lynk & Co. London Taxi Co . Proton and Smart Automobile.
