    Love your biodiesel videos.:) I'm not going to make biodiesel either, but have watched all you other videos on the subject. I'm running a two tank wvo system, start on diesel and switch to wvo, then shut down on diesel. I'm not making biodiesel so I can start on bio and shut down on bio, eliminating any diesel consumption.:) Thanks again for the great video, I won't copy your setup.:)

    Thanks for the BoiD videos Greg. Nice work. I built a small reactor and wood chip tower for dry washing. Powers my diesel generators.
    In previous comments you mentioned disposing of glycerol at city hazardous waste drop-offs. How are you removing the methanol from the glycerine prior to disposal? or do you just leave the remaining methanol in it ? I ask because after my first few batches I am ready to dispose of the glycerol.
    My reactor is a small 18 liter unit so I only have about 4 liters of glycerol per batch.

    Hi again. It's hilarious how disclaimers and warning labels seldom work specially on cigarettes. I have been striving to follow those warning labels since the 90s when the warning simply said smoking pose risks to your health. I'm still striving to follow those labels even now that they post pictures of horridly disfigured cancer victims. I haven't croaked yet and find myself prepping for WSHTF. Thanks for the update. I've found vendors for bulk ethanol nearby and the other chems and simple paraphernalia needed. I think I'll go the third world way for now to have a feel of the chemistry. Thanks for your informative videos. Does anybody follow your warning not to make biodiesel? Hehehe.

    Great video....I'm still learning here...
    Are any uses for the left over Glycerin after processing a batch?
    Is this process neccesary if your running older diesel engines? Obviously this method is required to be burned properly in new diesels....but is this process needed if your just wanting to run simple generator type of engines....or pre-2000 vehicles? I maybe have been watching too many chinese diesel heater videos lol.....

      Glycerin - you can make soap. I think it can be used on gravel roads for dust control.
      you may be able to get away with burning unreacted veg oil in a crude diesel. Blend it with regular diesel or something. There are all kinds of theories. This method is safer in my opinion. I only run it in old diesels as it is but still like to do the full proper processing.

      @@gregs_garage Thanks for your reply! I live in the country....so if not able to use any other way...dust control is would be a great alternate. Stumbled upon this today....new method....about the same cost as purchasing methanol and potassium hydroxide flakes he says....but with waay less work....ruclips.net/video/ZZg6hirk9r0/видео.html

      @@MiniatureChickenChannel I don't know. That guy is just using a method to clean the veg oil, then blending it with kerosene to make a diesel "substitute". It's not Biodiesel at all, and I wouldn't do that. But he talks a good game so he must be right! Proceed with caution.

    Thanks for the Video. I have a question concerning the Air Pump, there are 200W and 400W pumps available. How strong is yours?

    • @gregs_garage
      @gregs_garage  6 месяцев назад +1

      I’ll look but it blows a LOT of air. Id guess 400w at least

      Thanks for your support. I have seen that there are even bigger pumps on ali Express (up to 900W).
      900W is rated for 1m Water column, which would tarnslate into 1.1m "oil column".
      Would that corospondent with your setup?

    Hi Greg I've just stumbled on to your channel so if I ask something you have answered I'm sorry but I was wondering can you make bio diesel out of sump oil as this is a lot easier to find and can you use hydrolic oil for that matter

    • @gregs_garage
      @gregs_garage  Год назад

      what is sump oil? If it's petroleum based it will not work. Biodiesel needs animal or plant based oils for the reaction to occur.

    • @grayem76
      @grayem76 Год назад

      @@gregs_garage ok sump oil is when you change your oil in the car, tractor truck or any other engine I don't have a clue what you call it other than that but thank you for clearing it up most people in Australia sell there plant oils to farmers to put into stock feed

      @gregs_garage  Год назад

      @@grayem76 ok.. Motor oil. yeah you cannot use that for biodiesel. There are other ways to use that oil, like some do fancy filters and centrifuges to clean the oil and burn it.

    Hi I have a quick question , would beef dripping or beef tallow oil be used with a system like this ? As it solidifies in room temperature . Would it clogg the filter or the pumps ?

    • @gregs_garage
      @gregs_garage  Год назад +1

      Yes my understanding is that animal fats can be used. But they would have to be melted at the beginning of the process.
