Thanks for the video. I have been using IB since it first came out. Some of the suggestions I made were incorporated into the present platform. Once I set it up I didn't go back and tinker with it. This was a great refresher course. Fwiw, I use IB for the orders and TS for the charting and have worked this way since the early 2000's.
I created advanced market scanner and saved it and it has all the columns i need. However when i imported the results to monitor tab via Monitor > Predefined Watchlist > Myscanner , it only shows Last and Ticker name column. I could not add any new coulmns. Any solution to this problem is appreciated. Thank you
Verrillo, As always a big thumbs up for your videos and for this one too. Quick question. Once I save a scanner in my monitor, will it dynamically refresh adding/deleting stocks from the scanner that are within/outside the filters and parameters? Not just for one trading day, but on any trading day?
Thanks for the kind words. I don't know if the scanner will refresh automatically but I imagine when you click on a filter it should re filter to what you selected.
Thank for the video. Very helpful! One thing I didn't catch though. Is it a real time scanner? I mean, can I get gappers, say, from 8am to 8:05am using TWS? Thanks
Glad it helped. I do not know to what degree you can customize it to show stocks that are gapping for example. The scan will be real time if you are subscribing to real time data.

Thank you for the kind words. I do not know if this indicator is supported in TWS. If it is not you would either find a developer that can help you to create it or use another platform where it is available.
Awesome video, incredibly informative! One question I did have though, is the price range filter the same as ATR? I had been using TOS for awhile now, and I noticed there isn't an ATR filter in the TWS scanner, but it looks like "price range" is the same thing?
Hmm I wouldn't know sorry. You can definitely customize the parameters of the scanner to show any kind of information you need. I'm not sure if you can scan for ATR.
Hi Chris - Many thanks for the useful videos. I am using TES now. After watching your video I created a scanner/screener on TWS which provides the highest/lowest Dollar Volume of shares that are less than 10$. Is there a way to add a column which provides the highest/lowest dollar volume per "minute" or per "five minutes" (instead of one day as provided in default by TWS)?
thanks for the kind words. If it's not already available in the customizable columns then it's not possible in TWS. A study like this would be possible using maybe Sierrachart and with the help of a coder if it's not already a study.
hey man, love your videos, thanks for putting in all this work into it, really appreciate it! Quick question, whats the main difference between a broker scanner and a dedicated one like scanz, trade ideas and benzinga pro?
The broker scanner is shit that you don't want to waste your time on, especially TWS scanner where something like Tradeideas allows you to day trade best stocks for that day or time of day. Spend the extra money if you are looking at day/swing trading
I do not know of a way in TWS to copy the entire scan results directly into a watchlist. One of the ways I use is to click and drag the symbols one at a time into a watchlist. This is shown in this newer video regarding the advanced scanner: ruclips.net/video/xu9vRK9dFng/видео.html
I'm not sure how in TWS right now as I barely use this scanner. I do know tradingview has a good free scanner that you can scan for indicator values very easily.
