Back when one of the executives said people need to be comfortable not owning their games and have bad public reception generally, I thought they going to be more careful.

Oh no he meant it quite literally. Nobody will own their games because they won't buy them.
They managed to piss off an entire country, they certainly won't own this one.

"Samurai" was a high ranking position in feudal Japanese armies, and not every soldier had that rank. On the off chance Yasuke fought in Nobunaga's army, he would have been a lower ranged soldier, but not a samurai by any means.

    Ubisoft is going bankrupt soon.

Nah, they'll be bought out by private equity and maybe get better or worse.

Actually, there are a lot more things are pointed out in Japanese community. Like vegetation, animals, etc. It's difficult to find something accurate in ACshadows trailer.

honestly i feel like they only made yasuke a character because one of the higher ups said when origins came out that "women dont sell" cause origins was supposed to be all about aya, and thats prob what they did with yasuke as well as to have a token black character for "diversity" purposes

Imagine if Ubisoft sells assassins creed IP to someone and they just retcon everything after assassins creed brotherhood and do it again so it’s not an endless and meaningless plot line.

It is the end of Ubislop, the only thing I was looking forward to them was beyond good and evil 2 but that has been in a limbo for a decade and at this point I have no faith in them delivering any worthile sequel.

After seeing their staff and knowing the staff mentality I don't.... care. As far as I'm concerned they can be bankrupted into Oblivion

The amount of disrespect and laziness this "game" shows towards japanese culture is so noticeable it genuinely feels weirdly, unnecessarily malicious.
Pinnacle of "it's fine when WE do it" from the "virtuous" people.
I'm sure this racist DEI trash will save ubisoft!
Perhaps they should feel comfortable losing money.

It's not malicious. The level of talent at Ubisoft has evidently dropped off a cliff in the last 10 years, as we can see with SW - Outlaws. I'll say it plainly: there are too many women in these development teams. Women don't obsess about nerdy details about obscure subjects (like nerds do) and are never held up to standards of excellence, by others or by each other. That artistic and technological quality has dropped off a cliff in 5 short years after the DEI push is nothing surprising.

@@AlexD-os8hw Basically the issue comes down to how men and women engage with media. Men find inspiration in icons and want to be that character. They use that character as a framework for themselves. Women often times project themselves onto things. Its why it is so obvious when a woman is writing a character, because they are just writing themselves but casting all their flaws in a positive light. Now this isn't always true of course, but it's too consistent to not be noticed. I think this is a big reason men tend to be more into very specific details in their media where a lot of women are not.
