Somebody needs to start making decent live music programmes for tv again. The genius of Mick Karn and Midge Ure, we wouldn't have this if someone at the time didn't have taste and the ear of a tv station.
love this song Kevin it's a great bass line with the typical sound of the 80s lovely fretless bass interpretation well done , very good job , very good bass player ...
Thank you for posting this, thought I would never see this great performance after my old vhs recording of this from the c4 tube was erased 20 years ago
Don’t think the bass player was Mick Karn. My wife is a huge Japan fan and after I showed her this video my wife agreed with me. It’s definitely not Mick Karn. Mick may have been on the original recording but it’s 100% not Mick Karn here.
@@leeholden8658 no 100% not mick the bass player was part of the band that midge had with at times during his break from ultravox. Awesome performance. Bass player is great but he's no John taylor of duran duran
Midge always had a great sounding voice and when he went into his higher register he has a lot of power for a smaller bloke(1 inch taller than I lol)/Very talented man in many ways, HE wrote the Band Aid song not Geldof the man who should be trialed for involvement for an Aussie singer's death!
Definitely better than the studio version. I’m kinda addicted to this after just discovering it. That bass really makes a difference imo 🎉❤
❤️for dedicating the tune phil lynott
A great song and a very good- looking Midge....wow...❤
The studio recorded gigs have great sound and are a perfect set. cool! ❤️👏🎶😍
Where's Mick Karn? His bass is everything in this track!
Yeah?
Wonderful song, amazing Midge

What's that supposed to mean?
@@choonvent7028 for me John Taylor is the best bass player. But this guy was good to
@@dublingirl6945 John Taylor is excellent but Mick Karn was another level for sure.
Oughrrr! That UltraHotScot!!Why does He have to be a Heartbreaker?!Very nice dedication to Phil Lynot btw
They gave the keyboardists more screen time then most programs do that’s good cause you can learn the melody easily that way instead of ear play
Wow DX-7. I wonder which patch keyboard player is using here...
One of the best songs of the 80s, btw.

This single was released under Ure & Karn. It’s nothing without Mick.
Where's Mick
Doesnt sound the same without mick karn
Bass player is good but he's no John taylor of duran duran no1 can top John sorry. Midge is fantastic though great show man great vocal and 🔥🔥🔥
This guy is leagues ahead of John Taylor at that time.
@@choonvent7028 each to there own. Guy is good but I still rather John. This guy works well with midge I'm a huge Midge Ure fan
