Glad it was helpful. My harness was actually modified but if yours is original you will need to leave the main ring terminal connected as it is the main power for the fuse box.
@@BarnBuiltFabrications Do you recommend replacing the belt as well? Or just wait until it's time to replace it. I already bought the 4 gauge wire to the battery to replace the old wiring.
@@BarnBuiltFabrications 1:54 Have the SAME truck, I ran the alternator one wire to the battery, & grounded the alternator housing to the frame, I removed the old regulator, I went to remove those same wires that you have BUT the truck will NOT crank unless I have that multi prong plug plugged ( shown in this clip ) plugged up, what am I missing or should do? That MIDDLE plug showing in this clip HAS to be plugged up.
That is what it is on but it is not exclusive to it. You can find whichever one you need (GM, FORD, ETC) by doing a google search or through the big names like Jegs or Summit.
Just bought a 78 F150, read it's good to upgrade the alternator. Very helpful video. Thank you!

If the belt fits and is in good shape I personally would run it but you do whatever you feel is best.
Awesome, helped me out a bunch!👍
Glad it helped you out!

Do you still need a ground?
From what I have read, you do not need a ground, it grounds through the bolts, but it is still suggested to ground it to the engine block.
As @cafcintheusa2 said, grounding is done through the block so no additional grounding is necessary.
Is this for a 351m/400?
