Installing Tire Inner Tubes in a Four Wheeler/ATV

Installing Tire Inner Tubes in a Four Wheeler/ATV
just fabricate two new mounts and flip your shackles... no need for new springs, blocks, or unnecissary labor with less axel wrap
Bro, you the best. Did you plug it back on
I did not. Not really any reason too unless you live in many degree below zero conditions consistently, and even then its not really necessary.
I see this video is about a year old,do you have new content coming out anytime soon ?
Video series on the engine build will be dropping starting this Friday!
Thanks for the video
Glad you liked it!
Is that power steering bracket on a 302 motor
Could be, although Ford tends to have a million part nmbers for everything as opposed to GM who will use the same bracket on multiple vehicles and engines.
I’d assume the axle won’t rotate backwards if you have your driveline in still. I’m going to do this tomorrow thanks for the video
Be careful as the slip joint of the driveshaft could come apart and the axle will fall. You will still have some movement to rotate it because of the U-Joints.
Yeah, I still didn’t do it yet. I sent the coils to get painted black. I’ll definitely put jackstands under the axle still.
Just use the hydraulics to push it out...
I will try that next time!
To remove the rod I think I will go with some all thread rod and make a plate for them at the foot and attach to end of shaft and ease them out by turning some nuts.
Let us know how it worked!
Any update? I am about to begin my 71 and I need some inspiration!
I am going to be dropping the 385 stroker engine build for it here as soon as I am done editing.
I cranked mine up and pulled the lever forward and it pushed mine out pretty easily
I'll have to keep that in mind should I encounter the same issue in the future. Thanks for the tip!
you still got the carrier and gear?
I do. Email me @ BarnBuiltFabrications@gmail.com if interested.
These are very popular and leak pretty often but easy to rebuild 😊😊. Good luck and protect your eyes
Drive the puck in and sand the rust away and use air pressure to blow it out, works most of the time Protect your eyes and goggles is best
Great tip thanks!
Just bought a 78 F150, read it's good to upgrade the alternator. Very helpful video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful. My harness was actually modified but if yours is original you will need to leave the main ring terminal connected as it is the main power for the fuse box.
@@BarnBuiltFabrications Do you recommend replacing the belt as well? Or just wait until it's time to replace it. I already bought the 4 gauge wire to the battery to replace the old wiring.
If the belt fits and is in good shape I personally would run it but you do whatever you feel is best.
Rough Country's support team is solid, but trying to install their parts is an absolute nightmare. None of the studs on my aluminum spacer clear the top of the top mounting nuts, and I'm genuinely afraid to run it, not to mention one snapped while torquing it. Waiting on the new parts to show up
That is interesting, I haven't heard much negative personally. Something definitely sounds off about that part.
Is that a 351M? That's what I have in my 79 with a C6
It is, for now at least.
6:30 Is that a NEW wire plug on that sensor? Where do you get such?
RockAuto
12/2014 Purchased the Tuff Stuff alternator 140 amp 7068K and did >> NOT << have to lift it to clock it, I just removed the pulley & fan & then rotated to the new position, I now wish I had of tried it BEFORE removing the fan & pulley, mine went on a 79 F150
When did the truck get renamed?!
When we got the new cab the name changed with it, however, the spirit of the original will still live on.
Watching this video and realizing i should have installed mine (been sitting in the garage for a year) when i replaced my front brakes this past spring
Yeah that would've been a good time to do it but overall not to bad from fully assembled.
3:50 gears are to high for tires 35’s proper gear ratio is 4:56 for 35’s and 4:10 for 33’s
Where did you end up finding the inner axle seal?
I just searched that part number on google. I think maybe eBay
The DOD sticker was just there to show that it was authorized to be on a base. Not that it was owned by a particular agency.
Good to know thanks!
Where did you get the spoke skins? Great video, want to do this with my newly acquired 250😁👍
Amazon, they are pretty universal just need to get whatever length the from wheel is and then cut them to size.
The initial weld was to hot and draed metal up.
I still have to get the finesse of it down. Thanks for the tip!
What fuse was that for ???
The PCM, fuel bowl heater, and a couple other things.
looks like a brand new trailer
Thank you!
Curious, what’d you end up doing with the evaporator box? Any chance it’s still lying around and you’d be interested in getting rid of it?
I still have everything. Email me @ BarnBuiltFabrications@gmail.com if interested.
You explain a lot but you didn't show any of the actual steps with you doing it. So as far as general info? Good video. As far as showing us what to do? Not a good video or tutorial.
Stick a magnet in the hole or stick a hose/straw in hole and around shaft then lift it up. It is tedious but not much to it.
After rotating 180 degrees, put driver side strut on passenger side and passenger on driver side. That’s why it was hitting the frame.
I didn't have any clearance issues after my adjustments but that could help too. Instructions did not mention that but possibly that's what they intended!
Would using rustoleum filler primer be a addition to just spraying that on. Would want to use that primer then sand prime again then use that paint
You could it's all up to the finish you're looking to get out of it. I have used this paint directly on equipment trailers and car haulers that take a beating and the paint holds up without scratching or coming off so I would say its not necessary to prime but you can if you'd like to.
Tonight is snowing I was 1 hour from home my truck do the same I watch you video and I did the same truck start right up I make it safe to home thank you so much 😊
Glad you made it home safely! Its always nice to get feedback like that.
Where did u buy the vent from for the tank
LMC Truck but this one is actually not venting so I need to swap it out.
hey good explanation, thank you
Glad it helped!
Good to know! Gonna keep that one in the back of my mind. I had this issue but also my transfer pump wasn’t coming on found someone had stole my pcm diode at some point.
Gotta love that!
Noticed you maintained the factory upper control arm for the install, how’ve they held up? I’ve been wanting to do a 2 or 2.5 leveling kit but worried about reusing the factory control arms, but I’m not seeing a lot of control arms made for these kind of kits. Usually for actual lift kits.
I have never had a problem using the factory UCA's for leveling kits. I haven't had any issues with this truck so far.
The spring of the accelerator pump should sit on center top of the diaphragm.,
Yup you are correct. I took it back apart and fixed it. Thanks for letting me know!
Active duty military. Just bought a 68 rust bucket doing the exact thing your doing man when the money is able to go to the truck it will.
Hell yeah man just do what you can as you can! Thanks for your service!
This was a huge help i have the same machine with the same problem. Thanks for taking the time and putting this out there
One other thing I was running into was that my key was rotating past the contacts. I replaced the tumbler and it fixed it.
@BarnBuiltFabrications thanks again for the help
Thanks so much for posting this video. I have the same splitter and it started leaking a couple months ago. I just ordered the seals and am sure the job will be much easier with your insights. Well done, very much appreciated.
That's awesome, let me know if you have any questions along the way.
How’s it running with the Fitech?
Still in project mode. I haven't had it on the road yet but will post something when I do.
Great video, I have a 35 ton Dirty Hands Tools (no longer in business) and it looks the same as the county line one. Will be replacing the seals on mine this week and this was a big help since I have never done it before.
The cylinder should be the same regardless of brand. I am glad you found it helpful!
This makes me so happy! My wife is mad that I picked up a 71 c10 complete truck to part out while I was working on my 64,70 and 72😂… I’m not the only one who “has a problem…
I support you brother!
At least you admit you have a problem!😂
They say that's the first step anyways
I did a 3" drop spindle and 2" pancake on the crossmember. then I got tubular lowers for more clearance. stock uppers.
I foresee a set of tubular lowers in my future at one point or another. How do you like them and the ride?
@@BarnBuiltFabrications they ride just as good as the stock arms I welded bag plates into... About an extra inch of clearance at least tho and no way to crush them like the stock sheet metal version (which I did)
Awesome video
Did you take the inner seals out ? The sealed bearings take inner seals to hold axle oil towards the third member the wet bearings have outer seals and need the oil to come out to them
I did not. From what I researched it was exactly what you are saying, however, when I took apart the axle it had both an inner and outer seal with the same type of bearing when I took it back together. I figure if it wears out prematurely I will have my answer!
Thanks for reminding me to pay someone else to do this. 👍🏻
Don't be discouraged it is a lot easier than it may seem.
i'am 72 and going to put one on my 24 f150 easy did my 23 2 years ago
If you didn't undo the cv axle, why did you take the brakes out?
nvm just say in some parts the cv axle basically was out. You didn't use a vacuum to hold the 4x4 pressure. That isn't bad?
@@txkinggI was wondering the same thing. I’m installing the RC 2” kit on my 2018 this weekend.
Good question! I did it for a couple reasons being 1.) The caliper needs to come off to allow for the knuckle to come forward without damaging the brake line 2.) So I could get access to the ABS sensor that is tucked behind the dust shield 3.) I did not take the CV axle fully out but I needed to undo the nut for it because i needed it to be able to slide back into the knuckle to allow for the knuckle to come forward enough. Additionally the less weight with the rotor being off just makes it easier to handle so you are not fighting it as much.
There is no pressure when the truck is off. No concern there.
How did you make out with the install?
Good help
