❤️BIBLE VERSES OF THE DAY❤️
Deuteronomy 20:1
When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.
In The Moment When I Truly Understand My Enemy, Understand Him Enough To Defeat Him, Then In That Moment I Also Love Him,
Ender Wiggins In Enders Game
Meaning: our true enemies are sin and death. When we realize we are utterly hopeless to defeat these enemies on our own, we look to Christ our savior to fight on our behalf. Egypt represents our bondage to sin. As the Lord brought the children of Israel out of physical bondage, so Christ brings us out of spiritual bondage by his sacrifice on the cross. He defeated the enemies of sin and death so that we may enjoy the peace of the promised land, heaven, for eternity.
But what if God is on their side?
@@sparksdrinker5650 God is not interested in political wars. He's interested in spiritual war. The battle for the heart of his people. That's why he didn't over throw the Roman empire. He came to show there is a greater enemy; sin and death. We conquer those enemies by his substitutionary sacrifice. He died in my place, paid the penalty of death on my behalf, so that I could win the war and live in eternal peace.
Hey, do you have an email for business? Looked on your other profiles and couldn’t find anything
He didn't "win" per se, but he wanted to go the distance and he achieved that goal. So while he didn't win, he definitely wasn't a loser. And yes, you should at least watch Rocky II, it continues right where this one leaves off.
He won his battle but lost the war.
He won in every way that matters. That's the really amazing thing about this film, it is so uplifting because he lost the fight, but he won in every single way that is meaningful.
@@Ctrlr1981 No, he lost that battle, but won his war.
He proved he wasn’t just some bum from the neighbourhood, that’s for sure.
The animals he was feeding at the start of the movie you said were dead are turtles and are actually still alive to this very day God Bless them
They make good soup, for real.
@@lewstone5430 so here is the emotional creep, that would even consider one of his pets as food...
@@lewstone5430 lol.
@@Metzwerg74 well in some countries that are remote they would be considered food etc...
@@afriendlycadian9857 yes... but then, they are not bought as pets first....
I love that Apollo is not really a bad guy, him and Rocky are just on two sides of the Spectrum in life.
That's why it's essential to watch more of the series and how their relationship develops.
Spectrum! I see what you dude there 😂
Stallone still has the turtles from this movie. They're nearly 50 years old now.
Fun fact Silvestre had to sell his dog to make ends meet but as soon as he could he got the dog back and that’s the dog in this film
Even funner fact: He still has the turtles Cuff and Link. They're much bigger now.
Rocky won the heart of the girl he loved with his character; he was already a winner in the ways that matter.
I hope you do more of the Rocky series.
This was great to see in the theater when it first came out as a teenager. Inspiring to see people simply go the distance, not necessarily winning.
Or in the Drive-In. An era defining movie that will never grow old.
Rocky went the distance and found love, it is a perfect ending.
The studio wanted to cast Burt Reynolds as Rocky?!?!?!
But, Stallone wouldn't sell the script unless he played Rocky, even though they were offering 350K for it,
and in 1975 that was a ton of money for a script.
The studio relented, but said the budget would be low due to the lack of a star.
The film was shot in only 28 days.
Stallone went from nobody to star overnight, just like his character.
That underdog vibe is what won Rocky the Oscar for Best Picture in 1976, over an all time great film like Network.
Your probably right, I always thought they wanted James Caan.
You'll love Rocky II so much more. Trust me. Stallone has always said the first Rocky movie is NOT a movie about boxing but a love story with boxing in it.
A Joseph Campbell reference? This young lady is GOLD!
Rocky one is about the story of a man who redeems his life, the background is boxing but that is only the "Noum"...
Rocky's purpose is contained in the speech he made to Adrian while he was on the bed, to last 15 rounds with the world champion to prove to himself that he was no nothing.
Actor Stallone was inspired by himself and told his story in the film, before becoming a famous actor, the dialogues and real life scenes are thanks to Stallone, he often took inspiration from real life scenes and was very impressed by the spontaneity of the Italians.
Italians emigrated to America in search of fortune many years ago, Rocky Marciano came from a poor family... there are many realistic references in the film.
He won in so many ways. He was the first one to ever go the distance against Apollo Creed, getting one of the 3 judges to call him the winner. He won respect, he showed he's not just some bum from the neighborhood. And, of course, he won the girl. It's really a perfect ending. Regarding it needing more room to breath at the end - ending here left audiences in the theater cheering!
This girls smile actually melts my heart
This is definitely a franchise that benefits from subtitles. Lol
Adrian said she love Rocky....in that moment....he won.
"Rocky" is easily one of the greatest movies ever made. While it might appear to be a boxing movie, it's more about the struggle of humanity and the day-to-day survival of the people within a tough Philadelphia neighborhood. I found the scene with Rocky yelling at Mick and showing his frustration, then Rocky embracing Mick to be one of the most heartfelt movie scenes ever. And, yes, the ending also tugged at the heart strings a bit.
BTW, I know this is a bit out of left field, but you have a great combination of beautiful smile & eyes to go with an infectious laugh :)
Mickey was played by Burgess Meredith, the original Penguin in the Batman show and movies in the '60s.
How cute ,how fun to watch this beautiful young lady react to these great movies...
Great reaction to an awesome movie. This great piece of art was made on a very low budget and shot in only 28 days of filming. The end result garnered multiple Oscar nominations and ended up winning the Oscar for Best Picture. Btw, this was the movie that created the 'Workout montage' with the music in movies. Before this movie, filmmakers didn't see it necessary to show the athletes working out, since they thought it would bore the audience...lol. But Stallone changed all of that making sure that there was an inspirational work-out montage in the movie, the very first of its kind. Now pretty much every movie in this genre uses a similar work-out with montage.
I'm binge watching your videos girl, love your reactions!
Respect for wearing the gloves for the whole movie 🤣🤣
Gave you a thumbs up for the boxing gloves. This movie came out in 1976, the Bicentenial of the USA. That's why Creed had all the patriotic trappings when he came out for the fight.
At the very least I would advise you to watch Rocky II (1979) - my personal favourite and it fits quite stylistically with the first film. Watching Rocky and Rocky II back to back is like watching The Godfather and the The Godfather part II back to back - both films accentuate each other.
Although I would also strongly recommend Rocky III, IV and VI. Rocky V is, how can I say it, different from the rest of the films - to its detriment - despite being directed by the original director of Rocky (Stallone directed II, III, IV and VI). I'm not blaming John G. Avildsen though. Stallone is responsible for the script, but you also have to blame studio interference for changing the end of the film into quite an absurd and laughable climax.
Sylvester Stallone was inspired to write this movie after watching the Mohammed Ali - Chuck Wepner fight in 1975 and the character of Apollo Creed was based on Ali. Nobody gave Wepner much of a chance but he knocked All down in the middle of the fight and made it to the 15th round before Ali finally knocked him out.
Please note that Apollo's patriotic entrance to the ring was fitting the year this movie was released - 1976. It was the year America turned 200 years old AND - the U.S Olympic Boxing team won Gold that year for the first time in years. Great reaction to this love story with a boxing backdrop.
Rocky did win. Not the fight, but the battle. He got the girl and during his 'dark night of the soul" scene with Adrien on the bed in his apartment - he changed the terms of the fight... His strategy wasnt to win - but just go the distance, as he said He cant beat the champion, but he could be the first to go the distance with the champion.
Yeah. Rocky was really an indie film. It was Stallone's passion project. It was the movie that made him famous - and it was his screenplay, which makes the success even sweeter.
While I enjoy many his other films, this one has a special place for me, because he was as on-the-margins as Rocky ....until he got to make his passion project and realize the world shared his passion.
Stallone said Rocky is a love story, not a boxing film.
I love your reactions, you are so real and funny. Just subbed
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
Rocky went the distance
Micky always saw the potential in Rocky, but always thought that he was squandering his talent. He always wanted the best for him, but his way of doing this wasn't to treat him like he was wrapped in cotton wool, but to treat him mean. Many people watching Rocky think that Micky is a chancer to begin with, only because Rocky got the title fight did he show interest. This wasn't true. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie too, brilliant video of yours, great reaction video.
Hmm…I do have to say it’s a bit selfishness on Mickey’s part. Rocky is right in that Mickey never went to encourage him. Is it a coincidence that Mickey approaches rocky for the first time in his own home to be his manager? No. Mickey even more or less confirms why he is doing this: “I’m 75 years old…” Mickey had a prime but never went very far-he is hitchhiking on Rocky’s newfound fame. But it’s very real. Both men have issues but stick together because it’s their only chance to not be beaten so easily. It’s what the rocky movies do that so different from other “sports” movies; all chraracters are real-they all have their flaws. Em
I love the boxing gloves lol 😂😂👌👍
Enjoyed your reaction a lot. I have to put in my customary plug for Cinderella Man (2005), starring Russell Crowe, Renee Zelwegger, and Paul Giamatti, which also may seem like a documentary, because it's a true boxing story, set in the Great Depression, but an even more amazing story than Rocky I.
Yep another great movie.
I’m happy the RUclips algorithms brought me to you today. Enjoyed your reaction. It’s always cool to see female reactors realize this is really a love story more than a boxing movie.
One of the greatest movies ever , both written and acting, Casablanca is another on my list ,
Fun fact Rocky was inspired by the Muhammad Ali vs Chuck Wepner fighter.
Tbh I’m in love with your funny goofy personality, it brings a smile to my face
Glad u enjoyed rocky 1! Your the first I can think of to say “rocky 1 needs a sequel cuz there’s def more story to tell.” That’s how good the movie is, when you watch it for the first time-it really was meant to be a stand alone film. But to see someone really enjoy it and ask for more story says how great rocky 1 was. Watch the next 8 movies-it’s a journey that you won’t forget.
it so much fun watching a movie u like with her the first time. thank u
My favorite movie . You are the first reviewer I have seen who has included Adrian's line I .m not a loser.
Love seeing your reactions to one of my all time favorite movies sweetheart
Apollo wearing the George Washington outfit. Classic American pride!!! man loves his country!
I love your reactions and charisma💯♥️🤣
The greatest saga of all time 🥊
This is the first reaction of yours I've watched and it was so good! Credit to you for keeping the gloves on for the entire movie. :D
Thank you!

one of my all time fave movies.

*ROCKY 2 LETS GO*
You'd definitely enjoy Warrior
Welcome to Rocky Land. You will enjoy the journey 🙂
Hilarious reaction. Some great boxing. And the boxing in the movie wan't bad either. Am I the only one who wants to see you boxing in ALL your reactions?
Welcome to the Rocky series. There are many emotional highs and lows coming your way. As Sylvester Stallone himself described this series, "This is not a boxing story, it's a love story with boxing in it." Hopefully you'll stick with this.
Yep. So many reactors go into it thinking it's a sports movie. The Rocky series are love stories and studies of the human condition.
Awesome movie and great commentary 👍
its funny whenever we first get to ste steroetype-casted actors break out of their normal roles, weather by watching their latest or early work... either way, there is usually something powerfully good about it!
You gotta check out the rest of the rocky series
@Californiablend: Fun Fact, those black and white pictures around the mirror in Rocky's apartment are real life photos of Sly Stallone from his childhood.
His other excellent movie is First Blood. It's not an action movie where it's action action action from the first frame. It's an action-drama very much worth seeing. His speech at the end with end you. Seriously. I'm not a huge Stallone fan, except for Rocky I & II and First Blood.
Stallone is great in First Blood.
I love your reaction
Damn I love your reaction
Great reaction 💯💯💯 🎥 🎥
Hey miss california blend....I am just loving all your reactions. Keep up the good work....
Thank you!
Watch em’ all! They’re great!
You have such a natural beauty & we're so playful and enjoying this movie
Movie factoid the dog *ButtKiss* was actually *Sylvester's* dog which he sold when he was broke & when he sold the script to *Rocky* then bought the dog back for like *$10,000* & put it in the movie with him
1:10 Those are turtles. And they are both still alive and living with Mr. Stallone to this day! -I am a tort owner myself, it is a lifelong commitment. :)
This was a good film I enjoy films that try to set thing up in a real world setting and make you think like did it happen maybe it could happen and yeah they did good with this movie. And I think all the fights Rocky has in these movies are on a lot of peoples top ten list for best movie fights ever.
Great thoughts 💭 on the movie, never really saw the documentary feel of the first half, I see your point it does have that feel.
omggg you're so pretty! I'm so glad I found your channel! I love that more of us are doing movie reactions :) new subby
Thanks for subbing! Welcome to the channel!
I think Sly would love what you said about how the movie was shot
Carl Weathers, Apollo Creed from ‘Rocky’ and ‘Mandalorian’ star, dies at 76
He didn't win the fight, but he achieved his goal of going the the distance with the world champion.
Love it Cali. 2nd reaction I’ve seen of yours. Just the best, like ROCKY!!. I see a pattern emerging, in JAWS you were blown a whistle and in this one your swinging a pair of gloves. Awesome idea using props. Ain’t seen anyone else do that. Hey it’s the land of oportoonity Cali. You ROCK!! And Bible verse toooo wow I’m down. 👊🏻👍✌🏼
Thanks for watching! Welcome to the channel!

Sylvester says that Rocky is a love story.
There are 6 movies, the last one is rocky balboa I hope you watch it
Stallone still has those turtles today!
Part 2 is so good
Rocky's based on a random club boxer (Chuck something?) from New Jersey who got to fight Ali.
Great reaction, smile, and wearing boxing gloves!? Got yourself a subscriber :).
Welcome to the channel!
Paulie has a great arc
😂
Love the reactions. You are gorgeous! Btw
You just gained a subscriber... please continue this franchise all the way into the creed movies 🙏
Thanks for watching! Welcome to the channel!
This movie proves the true Genius of Sly, I'm 62 I was there, it all rings true, Adrian's Journey is equally shown and her evolution thru this movie gives it a dual character study. While Rocky never actually changes at all, it's Adrian's Journey which anchors the movie. I wish he would have branched out to dramas, his character study and storyline and scripts woulda been amazing.
No worries, part II picks up right where 1 ends and is just as good.
The actor who plays " Mickey " was also in the original Batman tv show back in the early days. He played The Penguin 🐧. He was also in one of The Twilight Zone stories. Where he's the last man on earth . He has just one pair of glasses and they break . He's left without seeing or reading . And a few movies .
if you didn't figure it out, Muhammad Ali was the template for Apollo Creed.
His turtles are called cuff and link and he still has them today
MAJORCOOL !!!
Please more Rocky and then the Creed series!!!!
