I find it amazing that Yehudi Menuhin, arguably the greatest violinist ever, is randomly sat there in the 3rd row. I imagine he just was in town for a little while, and wanted to work with Karajan.
Probably Karajan's finest recording of this symphony.
Definitively, not just probably. I've never heard it played better.
He was a Nazi though!
And still one of the worst version among the big conductors
@AdamantSeraph can you point to another good version by anyone, instead of just complaining?
@@AdamantSeraphcan you explain ?
Without doubt the best recording Karajan did of this piece. The fourth movement is played at around 154, noticeably faster than his 1985 recording, which adds to the intensity. Truly the master in his prime.
it's so beautiful. just perfect.
His 1985 is much much much inferior
@@andreaguarino8207True
wrong
i think the over tempo is caused by the recording, regardless makes it perfect =)
Amazing I wish I could like it 1000 times. This man (Herbert von Karajan) is exceptional not even looking to the notes, eyes have been closed all the time, man ...
Karajan is my favorite conductor , nobody else.
❤mine as well, RIP Maestro Herbert von Karajan❤
For me probably too
And the most Handsome one =w=

Naprosto dokonalý stroj velmistra Karajana hraje dílo absolutního genia Antonína Dvořáka
Young Karajan is a fucking beast
Why
@obito-i8l it's a compliment lol
Beast = outstanding performer
@@symphonyofsolidarity oh got it thanks
Such a balanced recording of the ensemble for the pre-digital era (and not a microphone in sight!). If I wasn't watching them play, I would swear this was a contemporary recording and not one made over half a century ago.
Id be hard pressed to find a contemporary recording filmed in such good taste tbh
@@miguelmartins9706 very true--this has a cinematic quality.

Que c'est beau cette centaine de grands musiciens au travail. Pas un pour contredire le maestro, tous pensent à la même chose, ont les mêmes goûts, une même âme, une même passion, un même but...
Karajan is the greatest conductor i have ever seen . !!!!!!
Abgesehen von der brillianten musikalischen Aufführung (!!!!!) - eine ausgezeichnete Kameraführung!!!!! Ein wahres Kunstwerk 👏🎆🙌
Instagram algorithm woke me up with this gem. Thanks for sharing!
Einfach brilliant in jeder Hinsicht!
Last movements so vigorous and, delicate: perfection!❤
Superb masterpiece, brilliant conducted by karajan. Strenght and tenderness balanced. We can feel the emotions translated into each note, each musica l sound. The delicate, the hard tones combined touch our souls in a deep way. Thanks all people related in producing this "gift" to us: the composer - Dvorak (wherever he is now), karajan and all the musicians. I want to thank my father who thought me and my brothers to love music - letting all the family getting to know fabulous music's work. My father has gone years ago, but he is with me through the life, his behaviour and examples, and also through music that I keep listening to.
Eins mit der Musik!!!!!
Grande Maestro Antonin Dvorak . Capolavoro!
I remember when Karajan dropped this Song on his Instagram back in the days. He only had like 1000 followers back then and then it went viral and well...the rest is history 💁♀️

Allegro con fuoco, best description ever
Thank you so much! This is great historic concert
Thank you so much for this record! This seems to me one of the best executions on Dvorakś 9th at all.. Thank you
I agree! I'm trying to find the recording I grew up listening to. The only thing I know is that it was a Berlin orchestra. I think either Karajan's interpretation or Kubelík's might be the one I'm looking for.
I think i'm blessed for watching this .
The tempo of the song is as I like it, great dynamics. Fantastic camera and sound recording.
Speed up because of the numeric.
It's a whole half step higher than it should be, and all the movement seems to be unhuman, like a lot to quick.
The sound of the instrument seems to be Unnatural too.
I think this tempo break the piece's essence... But because of the speed up we can't do better
@@SnowTurtle Yes you are right. Now, after watching it for the second time, I can see and hear that the music was recorded separately and they adapted the video. That's probably why so much editing. I like the faster tempo of this song:)
@@SnowTurtle I agree, this seems faster than normal speed. All it seems to achieve is to emphasize how 'arrogant' the Berlin Philharmonic was becoming under Karajan's direction. Even Bernard Haitink found it a difficult orchestra to work with when he guest-conducted in the 1970's.
Heard this today for the first time. Sounds like Willams and others got some inspirations for film music from this excellent piece.
Karajan was indisputably a genius. No one can imitate him.
Exept Jimi Hendrix. He just played better than he could; i. e Karajan-voodoo - - -

La beauté fulgurante des enregistrements de Karajan... Cette perfection de tout.
Thikk Klassik, on behalf of all classical music lovers and admirers of von Karajan, thank you!
Não haverá interpretação igual. Magnífico Karajan
Que hermosura
Fine performance, imaginatively shot by Clouzot (unlike his dreadful butchery of the Verdi Requiem at La Scala in 1967). But, musically speaking, Karajan surpassed this one with a vengeance, not least with his studio recording with the same orchestra made a little earlier, all the more so in his late 1985 take with the Wiener Philharmoniker which remains one of his greatest achievements most people cannot appreciate (like it or not, it matters not: it is more *unique* than this one by far).
So beautiful !❤
Thank you for this 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 magnifique!!
Bravo

me encanta esta version! I love this New World"S recording!
Thank you for sharing this
堪称完美!巅峰之作!
1 remarkable difference between this performance and any other I've heard, either live or recorded: the silence between each movement is very short; every other performance I've heard the interval is quite a bit longer. In many respects I feel this makes this particular performance by Karajan and the BPO so very special.
isso sim é musica.

I love Dvorak 9 in F minor ;)
This entire video has me transfixed.
Exceptionnel

III 21:14
IV 28:54
21:14 III. Scherzo. Molto vivace - Trio. Poco sostenuto, se parece mucho al 4to movimiento de la 9a Sinfonía de Beethoven
More like the 2nd movement of the Ninth
17:10 So beautiful
Qué increíble registro.
best version for sy9 number 4

Did anyone know why the tuning seem different from the other recordings? Just wonder why
This is in F minor, unfortunately. I doubt it was performed transposed-most likely an issue with the uploaded video.
I kind of like it better in F minor than in the key of E minor. Nonetheless i adore both keys of this song..
I just think that F minor in this song is.. i dont know how you would say it

omg a fellow who also read ao no orchestra, ngl ive never met anyone else who reads it sad 😞
Only 42K, meanwhile the last Bad Bunny video has over 40M damn...
The rear stands of the first violins are in almost complete darkness. How can the read the music? Are they playing from memory? This is quite strange.

Poderoso Caballero es Don Dinero.
There is only one conductor, Herbert, someone comes close, Gustavo Dudamel, but Herbert is incomparable!
Ever heard of, Muti, Chailly, Abbado, Santi, Celi,FURTWÄNGLER, Blomstedt and the plethora of other maestros who have higher command over music than Dudamel? lmao
Dudamel's still new, He doesn't even come close to the Current Berlin Philharmonic principal conductor yet
Klaus Tennstedt, Boulez...
